I pierced my own belly button at 16; of course it was too shallow. One day the hoop opened, caught on my sweater, and ripped out 🤦🏼‍♀️ Thankfully it was way too shallow and didn’t interfere with a proper piercing after 18!

Okay so professional body piercer here: Claire's employees target practice on cardboard and stuffed animals. The reason she said there's a popping noise is bc piercing guns crack and shatter cartilage as the earring is forced through. That sound is not at all normal or positive in any way. At home piercings happen, but i feel like posting tutorials for it is a little irresponsible. If you happen to live in the southeastern US, I would happily fix it for no charge. When we pierce ourselves, it's always going to come out crooked and crooked piercings take a significantly longer time to heal if at all. Peace nd love
