Anyone remember the restaurant at Grants where they rang a bell when ordered a big sandwich
My father was working here when this was filmed. Key West Hand Print Fabrics.
I remember our house off Clinton dr at night i could smell the brewery making beer also could here the lions roaring at 3in the morning
NamUs Case MP 40945 William Alfred Higgins McKeesport 1969
I watched this video with great sadness. Seeing the huge crowd, active businesses, flags, etc. makes it look like a vibrant place to be. How many of those people could have predicted that McKeesport would become the shell of a city that is seen today
Gas 31 cents!!!
This cant be the 1960s if there is color because color came out in 70s
probably the Glennwood Park Golf Course
The Nittany Lions lost this game to Syracuse, 21-14. 😞
That golf course is up above the zoo, I believe. I think it was called Glenwood Hills golf course. I remember my parents taking us to Red Barn. The had chicken, as well as burgers.
an america that is gone. -forever
Just like your boner.
I sure hope this little girl grew up to be happier then her day spent at Kennywood.
So much nostalgia for that time. ☺️
A look at a simpler time in America. ☺️
What street is this?
What street is this?
My mom sent my dad to that Red Barn for onion rings when she was pregnant with me. Loved this video.
We went there in 1967 during Easter, great memories.😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
No sound
damn i was in here yesterday and the storage room is pitch black, no light at ALL
I'm planning to see the solar eclipse there in 2024. Are there any great places to see it from?
Gospel Hill, Penn State Behrend
Thanks for sharing your video.
Pretty sure this is mostly in Millcreek.
Does anyone have pictures in the area of Chestnut and Craig street? Remember the Bungalow Store on the North East corner ?
Glenwood golf coarse ??
How the town has changed through the years.
Omigosh. My house was right there- Erie Manor.
OMG ! How hurtfull and devastating this was to watch . I cannot imagine this happening , and I never heard of this happening .
I lived in Mckeesport in the 70's , It seems funny that all these people would come out for this . Now a days you could advertise free T.V.'s and no one would be there !
im kinda glad this happened because if this didnt happen we would never have old footage of port vue
Recently learning that my grandfather on my fathers side worked on the railroad and lived in McKeesport for years before relocating to Miami, Florida. The McNamara family. I’m the last of the Family and gave the last name to my son.
People dressed more respectful
We used to go to the red barn on East Lake Road and get a big bucket of fried chicken it was delicious does anyone remember the Lawson convenience stores they had the best sliced ham we would get a big pile chip chop ham
If you can believe it, there are still Lawson's convenience stores. They are all in Japan. Not joking.
I used to get popsicles and Marvel comic books from there up the street from the Red Barn in the film. It was right off of Peach Street.
>
I went to six gun when I was about 4 with my family, still have the pictures of us dressed up like cowboys. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Thank You for this video about the 1960s I also miss the 1960s
They bussed us down from Serra High School for this. We put pennies on the track. This was pretty much the beginning of the end. I left 35 years ago.
I remember those old ships sitting in Misery Bay for years. Every year when we came up for family vacation they were there. I love the Pressure Isle and the Erie area. Coming up in August
Look at all the groups and clubs in this video and how prideful they were to march in downtown McKeesport. Where did they all go?????
I have over 1,000 slides of old McKeesport on hand from my grandfather & uncle that I've not gone through yet.
Wow, Are the prices marked down or regular priced?
Because of the shape and undulation of the greens and caddies, the golf course is most certainly Kahkwa Club.
I was born in McKeesport hospital and grew up right outside of Elizabeth in Forward-Township. This film represents the McKeesport of my youth. I was there almost every weekend throughout high school until I graduated in 1970. Thanks for sharing!
My grandparents & family's house was the big green duplex on 11th street over looking the old Building 6.
This is better than the Sandlot.
I enjoyed that. Since I was a teen in the 60's, I remember everything from that decade.
I used to eat lunch at the Ockay Restaurant. It was across the street from my office.
