Your POA valve sheet is wrong referencing 1977 - 1978 Lincoln, Mark IV and 1979 Lincoln, Mark IV. 1977 Began the Lincoln Mark V run, into 1979. 1980 Began the Lincoln Mark VI. Probably other misprints but I sighted in on those from your sheet.

One thing to keep in mind, because it got me, is that there are different sending units. You have to buy the right gallon sending unit. Some of these online retailers don't tell you what gallon tank the unit is for. I have an 18 gallon tank. I bought a sending unit that was supposed to be for my truck, I got it and it kept hitting the bottom of the gas tank when I tried to put it in. It was only about an 8th inch off. I was unbelievably confused until I figured out that they sold me a 19 gallon sending unit instead of an 18 gallon unit. There was only a small difference between the two, but it was a gigantic waste of time and money for me. So watch out for that.

Good video, I had the same issue on my 79 where the heat was stuck on no matter what, I removed the same valve and tested it with a vacuum pump and it didn’t seem to work, but it turns out it had an adjustment screw on it, I turned the adjuster in and the valve started to work, you can see which way you need to go by looking down the tube and seeing which way the lever pushes on the valve, depending on if yours is stuck on hot or cold, a couple turns in or out might get it to work again

How can I gat both tanks to show on the fuel guage? I run the non showing tanks first, and when it gets the odometer near what the miles are by miles per gallon, andhave to be ready to switches the tank runs out by paying attention, to switch at the right time. I am very familiar with Panther cars (Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, Town car) and I can say with confidence that the passenger floor pan most likely rusted out from pooled water coming from a deteriorated cowl air inlet seal. When they dry up (and they always due) it's best to remove the air inlet cowl and reseal it with Permatex gasket maker. Once that's done you'll never have to worry about water leaking from that cowl seal ever again.

2003 E350 owner here…same issue “fixed”: 1) absolutely no replacement part (entire pedal assembly) to be found…obsolete part. 2) disconnected harness from IVS at accelerator pedal. 3) tapped into 2 harness wires to IVS close to the accelerator pedal and mounted a toggle switch on dash (also a 10A fuse) 4) at “key on” toggle switch must be off (open). 5) start engine, then toggle switch on (closed) 6) perfection 7) the IVS is just a normally open momentary switch, but it is not available by itself, only as part of the pedal assembly 8) the assembly (at least for the E350) is an obsolete part and is not available 9) looking now to see if i can get the pedal assembly for the F350 and scavenge the IVS from that and put in the E350 10) this toggle switch solution may be a rudimentary anti-theft switch…just leave the switch “off” and the thief would never have pedal.
