Please don’t give wrong information. You can move your stronghold on one card to another when you purchase the card as long as there isn’t any other opponents stronghold on that card. So, your stronghold will not stuck on a card forever and you may change your mind to put on another card if you want to.

One small thing: after playing a card they go to your discard pile after they resolve. Thay means you can play a card then Pepper it back into your deck to get it in your next hand.

Question: With 2 Players, what happens with 2 Players and 3 Stacks? For example, Player 1 had a good stack and the other 2 stacks had one stack leading in a Roll Card and the other not? Why wouldn’t Player 2 just take the stack without the Roll Card, add to their points in front of them and, discard the stack with the Roll Card? Having a choice with more stacks than players doesn’t’ seem to penalize the opponent very much.

Thank you for these 4 videos explaining the expansion to Splendor, Cities of Splendor. We were just introduced to the base game by our board game group this week. My partner wanted to play again immediately! Which never happens. I am way more board game obsessed than he is. Lol! I just watched all 4 videos and purchased the expansion. (We had the base game at home on the “shelf of opportunity” but hadn’t cracked the shrink wrap yet). Thank you, Chris and Wendy! It’s great to see you during the “before times”. Love seeing you on The Dice Tower now.

Why did you start with a prebuilt brewery in the top right corner?

The icon for end-of-round bonus shows the symbol for a Little Building, but you guys were taking the bonus even though you built only Great Buildings. Or am I missing something? Also, at about 23:50, you both dropped Wendy's score by 10 points, which was quite amusing. Also, I don't think Wendy ever counted the 5 points (one-time scoring) for having at least 3 wheat/tool symbols. So instead of losing by 1, I believe Wendy actually won by 14. Can you tell I just bought this game (because Wendy put it in her top 10 of all time) and I'm learning it? :)

A bit of a necro post but just bought Newdale and watching a few playthroughs. Hope this finds you well. Really really enjoyed this run through. Your thought process and explanations were clear (your voice is also really 'radio' friendly!) and you really showed off the hail-Mary final turn where you maximise the free production chains. I was crying out when you missed taking your reinforcement worker from the event card, it would have saved you 6 cards discarded on the next round if you'd taken a red or green worker to replay! Either way, you smashed your point target! The OMG resource system is so misleading, it seems obvious what you need to do - get bread, meat etc and gives a false sense of being achievable, but the economy is so tight and number of turns so short that every action needs optimising. The extra 10 points from the secret objectives was a massive power play for the final turn, plus some luck getting that wool bonus tile that ultimately you didn't need. It feels great when the systems all come together at the end. Well done, I enjoyed the ride! Thank you for the time making and posting this video!

luv this game but no one will play it with me because i play knights templar and spam the influence action...and the game ends rather quickly...mean...i know, but so satisfying and funny at the same time...slight design flaw?

My wife and I really like Splendor. We have played it with several friends who have in turn purchased it themselves. This year for Christmas we gave five Splendor games to family members and an expansion pack to another who introduced us to Splendor. We also purchased an expansion pack for ourselves. Question: After buying destinations cards, remaining cards on the board get bonus money in storage. Is that money paid by the player who bought up destinations too? Or is it money that comes out of the general supply / bank? Who pays the bonus-money?

did anyone notice that they swapped a dice in the first roll? girl on the left had two of the dark blue and then after acidentally mixing the dice she only had one.

I had this game in my hands at a board game shop, read the rules and wasn't impressed enough to buy it. However after seeing this playthrough I can't wait to go back and buy a deck!

And I believe in a real game, there should be no talking/communicating except only with the communication token? Is that correct? If so, that makes it far more challenging lol.

Chris, at 28:00 you state a rule that, when updating a mountain track, AFTER you remove the left-most resource, you remove the track if only the two silver remain. This was an incorrect interpretation of the early rules that was later clarified: you remove a mountain strip only if it is empty.

I will never understand how ppl find this game interesting! I guess there are ppl that just like light card board games!
