    I like how u always say that"chariots are situationally good",when in reality they shred EVERYTHING besides phalanxes(tho distracting them with other units can be good if u have chariot archers/slingers/foot archers/horse archers/camel archers/strong melee infantry to deal with them,and just using ur chariots to give the enemies a morale debuff;) ),horse archers(autoresolve is your friend here,along with attacking their general(they might attack ur chariots then,especially if the army strength ratio is in their favour;) )and elephants(you CAN still beat elephants with chariots tho:Just watch out that ur general doesn't get squished by a dying elephant lol). Tl;Dr:Chariots are the GOAT against everything besides phalanxes,horse archers and elephants,however these are also situational;). So basically they're good against basically ALL barbarian factions and most civilized factions,even tho some of them have phalanxes and horse archers. Oh yeah,and also:If u can:Build a watchtower where u're gonna battle a phalanx/horse archer army. The extra height atop the hill of the watchtower makes a BIG difference in how many units u can kill with ur own ranged units;)

    yes man ending is interesting because you also have to grapple with the idea that you are essentially making this robot your slave, after (presumably) condemning the legion the entire game. while FO4’s railroad makes the argument that not even robots should be slaves in principle, you also have to look at your own psyche and why you would even want or need a Yes Man. if you think about it only the most heinous people in the game are content with keeping yes men, including the very man that sent you on this mission by killing you. by taking yes man on some level you are choosing to walk in their footsteps hence why i think the devs did not paint the yes man ending in a sympathetic light. the “wise” character types in the game will advise you against this too, wanting everyone to think for themselves by encouraging freedom, not necessarily just independence.

  • @ITS-HALBY
    @ITS-HALBY Před 7 dny

    It's been said here before, but the assertiveness upgrade to only listen to the courier makes the yes man ending depend on the dlc and your own morals instead of any set morals. You want it to be hopeful? The courier used the knowledge from big mt to see House's plans through but with a leader who is actually physically involved at the helm. Want total anarchy? Courier chose to nuke both factions during Lonesome Road and lets the strip rot.

  • @MrArravell
    @MrArravell Před 7 dny

    The problem with Mr. House is the same as with all dictatorships: he has no control over him. he says that he will do some good stuff in the future, but it's just his words with no real evidence that he is really planning to do so. And if he changes his mind at some point or go crazy and decide to wipe out people there will be no one to stop him. The same is true for the Yes Man ending. That's why on the long term the NCR ending is the best, despite all their problems. Because their government structure is the most progressive and stable on a long run.

    I like playing as the moors because you can recruit archer cavalry from Africa and weaken any European infantry because Cavalry are op. I also make an alliance with Portugal, they are weak but it stops Spain going to war with you, it invites France to take you on. In my current play through I've captured all the coast of southern and eastern spain and southern france, the trade income is crazy. I've made peace with Milan and have left horse archers hiding ready to ambush. Next step is to take Toledo

      yes I like the trick, but it is essentially a weaker version of the one thrace has with hoplites/pikemen and bastarnae. I usually think of scythia, dacia and thrace as the eastern barbarians, because they all have better position and nice tricks. dacia is great in forests, ambushing, thrace is good in cities and scythia is superior in the open field. but of the three, through I think they might be superior to anything but spain, dacia is the weakest because of economy and the small roster

    Armenia gets no respect. Granted their start position isn’t ideal but if you focus on Anatolia taking Sinope then breaking out towards Egypt and Greece their Cataphract archers are one of the best units in the game. Plus if you don’t want to cheese every siege their legionnaires are good enough to get your cav in the city. I mean Roman factions are going to dominate especially after the Marian reforms. A stack of Catphract archers can rough up the best infantry armies with volleys then tactical charges.

  • @thersydahmad

    I keep coming back to the moors. Great starting position n strong units throughout the campaign. Best early strategy for me is; 1. Jihad Tunis turn 1. Army from marrakesh gets a merc galley n make way to leon. Army in cordoba hide in toledo forest. Buy cav in algiers. 2. Army in algiers join jihad. Use merc galley n park at cagliari. Sicily will be making way to algiers. 3. Attack leon, toledo n palermo at the same time. Make the enemy sally forth for easier win. 4. Toledo army to lisbon, leon army to pamplona, palermo to naples. 5. Naples army take tunis and finish jihad. So in 1 jihad cycle u immediately take out 3 factions. Then either expand to france+england or italy.

    Its quite easy. You need to rush them as soon as possible. Most of their armies you can obliterate on the field. Gauls and Carthage are a way to go. Either way, nothing beats cavalry charges combined with the warbands. On the other hand, i had quite a trouble with the Greeks because i was getting reeled by the maceodons, pontus and the thrace at the same time the moment i had captured larissa, corinth and thessaloniki. By the time i reached rome with one full stack of phalanx, I've lost all of my asia minor possessions plus Byzantium. At least i managed to conquer the macedons for good

    I was scared to play the Seleucids, but boy their starting position isn't nearly as difficult as people make it out to be. You just need to be aggressive and have a clear plan. The first thing to note is that they have an amazing economy. You'll be making a lot of money from the start and you have the hanging gardens to make farms very profitable. Secondly, and this may sound cheesy, but being spread out and having many enemies means you can just attack in all directions. And that is what you should be doing from turn one. Build basic barracks wherever you dont have em, then build walls wherever you dont have em, and upgrade the barracks in antioch to gain access to phalanx pikemen at turn 5. Basic stables give milita cav which is actually pretty good at the start to serve both a skirmish and light cav role running down fleeing units or making them flee with a rear charge when they're engaged in combat. Not great against other cav, but very useful vs the first tiers of infantry you'll be facing at the start. You rush Seleucia to Susa to clear that eastern front. With mercs you win. Sardis moves up to Pergamum to kick out the greek cities from the mainland. Rhodes will still be there, but you'll deal with that later. Antioch and Damascus move down to Sidon and then Jerusalem. Hatra and Tarsus just build up militia hoplites to defend against inevitable Armenian and Pontic aggression. And those are really the only places you need to defend, the rest is offense. Ignore the rebel settlements, the nearby factions are the threat you want to start dismantling asap. From Susa you move north towards Arsakia, with reinforcements from Seleucia. After taking Arsakia you turn on the Armenians from the east. After Pergamum you deny Nicomedia and/or Ankara from Pontus and lay into them. By the time you declare, Tarsus will have enough troops to hold and your western asia minor settlements are shielded by your army coming in. The egyptian front just keeps rolling up cities, making sure no egyptian army escapes into the desert and surprises you with a stack of nubian spearmen after a bunch of turns. The now pontic and armenian fronts support each other and pretty quick antioch can switch from sending troops south to sending troops north. Since your starting economy is so strong, you can start pumping out units from the start. Since you're aggressive, you'll be taking quite a few settlements which bolster your economy further to support recruiting more troops. Even if you don't specifically focus economy in your settlements, the money will be decent enough as the settlements have decent sizes. Whenever you do have the military buildings you need in a settlement, you'll want farms first and foremost to use the hanging gardens bonus and increase pop growth. Then roads to move troops. And as you take settlements, your front becomes more focused and more and more settlements become safe from enemies sitting behind your newly conquered settlements. And of course once you own the entire middle east, you now have incredibly safe and rich territory, 6 out of the 7 wonders and you're starting to gain access to the high tier units in your fantastic roster to effectively fight the romans. So opposite of what Lugotorix says in the video - no slowly building up, your enemies are doing the same and building up doesnt solve any of your problems. Aggression out of the gate, hit everyone around you fast and hard, and you just start rolling like no other faction can in the area.

    Agree that Spain are hard but geographically they, like Numidia, can sweep away their enemies, if you expand in the right direction and focus on cavalry. They also aren't fun factions to play but it very satisfying, fighting and beating AI armies who should beat you but lose to the mechanics of the game. I always found Cathage hard because as soon as you get the Romans on the bakmck foot Numidia, Spain, Egpyt and Gaul start attacking you.
