The intro alone gets a thumbs up. Winters is an underappreciated treasure to current generations. Robin Williams appreciated him in such an honorable way.
Albert Brooks never fails to bring tears to my eyes from laughter...😂
Class and quality
RIP BOB, This performance is still funny to this day! Jokes about the airlines will never let up because, lets face it, it usually ain't fun to fly in an airliner!
RIP
Last night's home run derby brought me here!
Not all this material was exactly boffo. But Woody's frenetic style of delivery was brilliantly funny. Jack Paar, as always, was embarrassing.
This is one of the funniest things I ever saw!
The man is a genius.
A great character and study of failure. What a laugh. It still works in 2024.
Genius!
I guess you can't blame him, but Woody is a hate filled little man, and Allen Funt, a sicko' with no humor at all. The IDF are real. Good work.
National comic gem
Imagine a young Andy Kaufman at home watching this.
When I was 12 I had a cassette recorder that I loved. There was a comedy sketch I captured from the radio that was one of the funniest pieces I'd ever heard... well, I finally found it just now on the interwebs, 50 yrs later, here it is!
The alien from American Dad stole Paul Lynde's voice...😂
I never knew that Hank Scorpio could play piano!
Crazy how he went on to voice Marlin in Finding Nemo
In his mind ,he was actually there.
Johnathan was also a Marine Veteran.
In a lot of ways I think Albert Brooks paved the way for Andy Kaufman and other similar comics that followed.
A one man Goon Show !
Brilliant
Great sound effects!!
Brilliant!!
Nonunanu..Robin Williams..doing Mork...something Jonathan Winters, did way before...never get tired of watching clips of Jonathan..he was a creative genius.
Jonathan Winters a truly great original comedian! One of the all time greatest
I wanna hear albert brooks sing with tom hanks
The funniest thing I'vd watched in years! Man, I love this guy! Brilliant. Loved "Lost In America and Defending your life" 😂❤
Genius.
No one like Jonathan Winters, before or after him.
It's a great satire on the film Brief Encounter, including the Rachmaninoff music! That's a great British film, but they do sort of talk this way 😆
He dated Julie Parrish around the time this aired.
His real name is Albert Einstein
GENIUS
After 60 years this stuff is still funny 😁. Winters was also his own special sound effects machine. 🤣
Hilarious always
this is shit. there are plenty of struggling entertainers who'd love a chance to be on tv and they let on this absolute joker. hasn't got a clue what he's doing
Brilliant!
Paul is a hoot.
If you look closely, you can see Albert Brooks lips move while the dummys talking
Happy 60th anniversary to this episode! RIP Jack and Jonathan. Forever two legends in the funniest kind. Heaven is roaring with laughter tonight.
Professor Ludwig Von Drake!
Wow I never knew a clip with Paul Lynde and Jodie Foster existed. 😂😂 She truly is a movie and tv legend.
Super Dave's brother.....
Good grief, and I thought she had a mouth in her Disney Films!
The best lol
Who would guess this guy would go on to play a fairly intimidating LA mobster 40 years later in Drive?
You can see his mouth moving! 😂😂😂 favorite comment
What really made this work was Albert having the nerve to completely parody one of those old(and,by then, tired)show biz traditions, taking it to an unprecedented level of absurdity. This was during an importantly subversive period of comedy(Smothers Brothers, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Firesign Theater, etc.)
