I love how the commentators went on and on about how old Alicia Sacramone (at 19!) was but she ended up not only going to the Beijing Olympics but also continued competing very successfully until 2012. Simone is 27 and about to go to the olympics as the best in the world. It's crazy how things change.

It's so sad the Russians cannot compete in an international event like Gymnastics. Team Russia are always good competitors.

The commentators were outraged because the execution score for Simone's first vault was shown after her Amanar (second vault). It would be completely out of line to give that vault 9.33 execution, but it actually received 9.66 from the judges (still slightly too low, but her first vault was also overscored).

The way Shawn was- and still is- to her coach Mr Chow just makes me even more disgusted to know how Gabby treated him. Shawn could give her lessons in respect to such a wonderful person.

They kept talking about Simone's score when everyone else was going. Like that's not fair to the other competitors. We know they did misjudged Simone's 2nd vault but let the other girls have their moment.

Legends competing here… Aliya, Aly, Tatiana (even though she didn’t make it to the Olympics, her skill sure has!!), Ms Yuyuan- best AA finish ever for a Chinese female gymnast as well as a gold from Beijing (and an athlete I feel would have helped them get that team bronze in London instead of Quishuang who was just too inconsistent), Lauren Mitchell the first Australian female world champion… the list goes on!

I can't believe they were saying 20 was too old for a woman gymnast. Wow. The sexism is unbelievable. 14:49 and again at 24:39 and at 26:34 (he shames the Romanian team for having a 24 year old on their team, by saying the chinese would NEVER allow that). That attitude has a lot to do with the Karolyis' poisonous legacy on this sport. The karolyis forced women who were just reaching full adulthood to be considered "old" and pressured into retiring. They wanted young, starved gymnasts they could bully and order around, which is why they pretended that adult women were too old for the sport. What idiocy that everyone went along with that nonsense. Women are extremely resilient. Our bodies don't give out years before men's bodies, and yet male gymnasts are much older. It was just about control for the Karolyis. They're lucky they got to retire and weren't made to stand trial for what they did to to generations of girls and young women. The karolyis set up such a sick, toxic world of abuse for young gymnasts that it made these girls extremely vulnerable to more abuse because they were afraid to speak up. That's how Nasser got away with his crimes for so long. One of the gymnasts told a story about how Nasser would secretly give them a piece of bread or a little snack behind the Karolyis back. He did that to groom them. It wouldnt have worked if the Karolyis hadn't been starving the girls. I'm just so glad they are out of gymnastics. Btw, this is all just my own opinions based on piblicly available news about them.

Get more and more angry at the US judges for the disservice they did to Kara Eaker. If they'd evaluated her routine correctly in domestic competitions she never would've gone into Worlds with that construction. They robbed her of medals basically.

The first and second positions were held by Chinese women.
