You are not an idiot. Berger hunting bullets are crap. Old school cup and core, not something you would want to use on something you want to eat.

Years ago I literally memorized the Browning catalog..several things I noticed...all Browning rifles in 30 caliber were 1-10 twist..except the 308 ..it was 1-12 twist..you can find out for yourself that almost all rifle manufacturers use 1-10 twist in all 30 calibers..Browning had one exception..its very heavy 308 sniper rifle with a bipod bolt action..it used a 1-12 twist and a BOSS..it was the only 308 barrel they put a boss on..I took it as the Browning and Winchester rifles in 308 were so accurate that a boss was not improving it..another thing I did years ago was I took the boss off and fired several groups..it went from same hole at 100 yards to 5" group..I have several 308 Browning autos and one bar 3006 with a boss..my custom 18" short trac Browning auto in 308 I use a Limbsaver x-ring..its outstanding.

To bad your not 25 to 30 years older ..you would have heard of a Winchester boss or say my 3006 bar boss...it tunes the barrel to the bullet...my best load was a 168 grain federal gold medal match...the boss system had a muzzle break with holes that took out some recoil..the second was a solid muzzle break was less sound but same accuracy..I have seen videos of the can process..it seems there is two distinctly different sciences ..a Winchester or Browning boss and a Can..if you just randomly adjust the boss to where you want accuracy is bad and unpredictable..but somehow you can put a can on almost any barrel and somehow its more accurate and less sound and less recoil..the B.O.S.S. system is real science..proven over and over..it makes almost any boxed ammunition very accurate..there is something else going on here...just what I don't know..

I bought all my reloading equipment one piece at a time. Saved for months as I didn’t have much money back then. Got my first piece of .270 brass ready thought I put lube on them. Nope stuck the case on my very first throw of the press lol. That was my introduction to hand loading. CZcams was non existent and the only internet was called prodigy which was mostly useless

Thank you for this video. You showed a lot of details that others don’t cover. Like actually applying the sizing line, and that sometimes it not a smooth stroke for sizing the brass.

I have been thinking about getting one of these cheap chintzy Lee Auto Processing Presses just to do the de-capping process only, cause I hate the idea of trashing out a good press with the de-priming phase. Or I could even get a Hornady or other type Lee auto indexing progressive press if their quality is far better. Basically, I just want a press to de-prime on that can auto feed the cases as well as auto eject them into a container before cleaning them.

Hornady will also work on your dies to meet your specs. With a boat tail bullet take the expander off the sppindle and seat the bullet. Also, if the dies are setup the same, camover, they shell holder shouldn't make a difference.

I'm surpised by this. I have a Ruger American Predator in 22-250 with a Vortex Crossfire 2 scope. All in was like $780. I shoot factory loads of Hornandy Varmint Express VMAX 55 gr around 1.25" groups at 200 yards. I was expecting one ragged hole in this video given your precision hand loads. I clean my gun after every shooting session....could be why maybe? I know it goes against the grain as it realtes to cleaning to much. But it wokrs and I have no reason to change anything.

...just tried the H322 with the same bullet (75grn BTHP) with 21.5gn and 21.7grn in a 30" 1:7 and the 21.5grn shot 2 x 5 shot groups @100yards and both were under 1/2 MoA...very impressed and better than the N540 I've been testing!

I ordered the ELP-4 model on May 27th and haven't received shipping confirmation yet. I contacted Arken, and they claim to be 5-7 days behind on shipping. This still doesn't explain what's going on with my order as Im 10 days plus. I understand that things can happen. While I'm not overly upset, I would like a little more transparency from Arken about what's happening with my order.

just found this video, but maybe try putting the low riser and set the overall height of the tube holder to the tallest casing, then when you switch out to the shorter casings use the tall riser late?

only thing i could imagine for the +p to be slower, is it’s based on a longer barrel and the regular stuff has a burn rate for 100% in your 4” barrel and the +p doesn’t have enough barrel time for a 100% burn. 🤷‍♂️

Just ran across these vids and want to thank you for showing us your methods for developing this round in that 243! The fact that your are getting those high SD's in velocities makes me question your digital scale's capability. I'm still relatively new at handloading, but I found that I could reduce the SD's when using my Hornady automatic dispenser/balance by using it to get the coarse weight. And then use a manual balance beam to fine tune (trickle in) the charge. My SD's went from double digits to single digits.

Do not use a cutoff wheel lil that one. Instead use the saw blade HF sells. These saw blades are made for metal and well cut brass very well and not leave that huge burr you are dealing with.

I have almost the same set up. The groups from my ballistic advantage barrel look the same as well. I have tried all types of bullets but nothing under an 1". Just loaded some 147s just to plink. I gave up on the barrel.

I was guessing that a single flyer that destroys a perfect group is cause for crying…

Stuck 2 6.5 PRC brass pieces in a brand new Hornady custom die set. The second one I could not get out. Measurements of the once fired brass were hornady specs…def frustrating
