Great solution for hiding a heat pump or air conditioner
I would install it a foot farther away, but where it is at seems to be working fine!

If you switch from OIL to HEAT PUMP - BE AWARE!
zhlédnutí 5KPřed 4 lety
Man, there is nothing as dicey as switching from OIL to a Heat Pump system of any kind. I was the 5th...5th bid on this and not one of them had gone in the crawl space, but didn’t hesitate to tell these awesome folks that going from 140,000 btu oil furnace to 36,000 btu heat pump, meant lowering the heat loss of the house about 80,000 btus! So we did the crawl, attic and dense packed the walls....

The unseen places of your home can be as much of a suck on your efficiency as driving a Tesla with the tires full flat. It’s dumb, but contractors walk in and out of houses every day asking homeowners to do just that. Soooo important that this stuff get solved as part of your system design.

6 years later, is the unit still running without issues? Any problems with the PCB boards in the Daikin?
Hi, we have a FTX unit installed and it seems to be running constantly even if I adjust the temperature up. Is that normal for cool setting with auto fan ? Thank you
@@Stefi9810 in cooling fan runs 24/7, in heating it will cycle
Have you installed the EWC zone system on a Daikin FIT system utilizing the DFVE Air Handler? I am trying to find that application to see how well it works.
not sufficient air flow in top , possible fail soon
Samsung OEM
Rare unit
I love the sound of Bristol recips
Does that unit need a special Coleman communicating tstat?
Does that heat pump have the three wire comm coming off the board ?
Is there a lemon clause in the warranty
This was so incredibly helpful, thank you for this video!!!! ☺️
Does it mean there will not be heating supply to the indoor heads during a defrost? How long does it take for the outdoor unit to defrost and the indoor heads to get back to the heating mode? Where does the water from the defrost flow?
1. That is correct. 2. Very much depends, 5-10min 3. Out bottom of Heat Pump if installed properly. If not, then it pools in bottom freezes, pools, freezes and becomes a problem
Isn’t that an over size 24k btu head unit for 900 ft space?
Can you install a mini split under floor , hate that big box on wall . Thinking it would be nice if I could put it under floor and make some duct work To Supply air without having hanging on wall.
Wish you were in Texas, have a 1935 house which needs serious updating. Just re-wired the whole place, wiring looked like that black and brown stuff from the 50's or 60's. No a/c or anything, it was built to have natural air flow from the front to the rear and use propane furnaces during winter. Furnaces aren't there but original piping for the propane is (probably also from the 60's).
Very helpful! Just had a Daikin Aurora 12000 BTU installed today 😊
Why do people care about how small compressor unit is ?
To fit it places you couldn’t before
so im looking to get a 3 ton 4 zone unit. if im thinking a 7k 9k 15k 15k combo is that ok? the 7k unit will only be ran for about 2 weeks every 7-9 weeks or so while the other 3 will be cooling 12 hours of the day full time. should i go with the mxs or mxl outdoor unit?
Check the data sheet. You can oversized the head units up to a max for a compressor. If I recall the heat side btu is where u should be concern. The cheaper units won’t perform as well such as Daiken down to 5degrees while cheaper ones only down to 31 degrees
Nothing but breakdowns and bad service.
This one is a Daikin Fift, it's for sale here at eua ?
Thanks for this useful video. We just had ours installed and have a split in the basement and one on the first floor (Daikin 3MXL24RMVJU condenser with an FTXR12 hi wall for 1st floor and a FTXR09 for basement with an FDMQ18 Compact ducted unit in attic tied to new insulated and sealed duct system in attic with ceiling supply registers in each room on top floor, one main return in hall.) and have left the two splits temp at about 65 for the majority of the time with the fan *on* most of the time. We now set the fan at auto or night so to use it less after what we read. We just got our first bill and it's $370 for only a month (early Nov-early Dec). That seems high. Can you help determine the cause? We live in Boston and get cold temps but that's not even peak winter yet. At one point in your video you mention the efficient cost of which we want to ensure we're getting too. Thanks!
What did you replace? Baseboards?
Natural gas steam radiators.@@TheDiskinsDoEverything
My condo board is requesting the AC condenser to be 69 Decibels or lower. Is that normal? What is the typical decibel level for a non-high-end unit? Thank you
Depends on the size. A 2 ton with a 5 decibel compressor sound blanket could do it!
I'm about to purchase a Bryant single stage 2.5 ton unit and the manufacturer says it's 70.8 decibels. My contractor said he can wrap it which could lower the decibels 2-4 decibels. is it normal for a condo board to require a 69 or lower decibel reading? I'm replacing a 20 year old Goodman which I'm sure was louder than 69 decibels.@@TheDiskinsDoEverything
@@jimcarbone7816 it is very common. Mostly they want 55, so 69 is very easy. The carrier/Bryant single stage AC is one of the best that has ever existed. Fyi, Lennox makes the best sound blanket, it is 5 decibel reduction if needed in the end
I prefer to be warm then save a stinking nickle
According to BSC duct work loses as much as 30% or more of what you have paid for. The mini-split? Not nearly so much. The split ducted and VFD system I have will soon move all the ducts into the conditioned space on short runs owing to the central location and convenience of pathways. That 3 ton unit will be reprogrammed to 2 tons and handle the loads just fine. The only real downside of the mini-split is that if one side of the unit goes down you must replace the whole system unless you are backward compatible to the old half of the system. Maybe that will change? Maybe it has already?
Very helpful! Trying to figure out how to keep our vacation home heated during our time away!!
Does the inside unit rest on the floor? I see a lot mounted to the wall at 6 inch above the floor or so. What’s best?

Been watching a bunch of your videos, so I'll just ask here: Do you have anyone down in Portland that you recommend right now? I know you're up in Seattle area so I figured there was a chance. Thanks!
Sorry dude! But head to the hvac supply houses and ask there, they tend to know who is the best!
@@TheDiskinsDoEverything good suggestion, thank you!
Man, all these houses you're showing are all decked out. Too bad you're out there north of Seattle. I'm down in Portland and starting to think about this now, myself (past summer of course 😅).
Neat... that must be very efficient.
This is a good video. I have a Mitsubishi mini split and living in a house build in 1900 gave the installers a run for their money. Lots of doorways and windows and finding a way to place the units was a challenge. Just today I've put the LR and kitchen units on Auto to see if that helps keep me comfortable. According to Mitsubishi Auto is the way to go, we'll see.
My question is the drain line it can run up the wall and then go out to drain properly?
daikin is the worst investment you could ever make.
Why do you say that? I’m in the market for a new AC. One of the companies I’m dealing with sweared by this unit.
Daikin only guarntes 3 years.they treeted me like a piece of SHIT when i tried to deal with them.mitubichi all the way .fuck daikin.

These indoor units are all over Australia with different outdoor units.
Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I czcams.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
There’s no way this thing even comes close to lennox Sl25xpv
How far can you hear these from on full power
Good luck with the 32' extension ladder every time you want to adjust the louvres left or right manually.
Looks great! Make sure it meets the manufactures recommended spacing distance from walls and such.
I am a bit concerned about distance too.
Wish ours was quiet. Our XC21 goes JUNKKGgnnnnggg!!! at every start. What's up with that?? Nothing like what's shown here AT ALL. (Always done that, since Day One, and installers insist it's normal. So did the one before it.)
what do you all think of their RMXS for heating during the winter months, are they pretty good? looking at a mitsubishi hyperheat or an RMXS for midwest climate.
I have a Lennox heat pump where I rent but can not turn it on, has a remote with it, can someone please give me a step by step instructions to get it on, we are dying in 40 degree heat where we live have to get it working.
their remotes are pieces of shit
