I am an acolyte of Syd Barrett. Thanks for all your comments on the tracks we uploaded. To quote Scott of Rubber Dubber Records from the bootleg period of the early 1970's..."How can record companies lose money they never had." Scott probably never said that as it was someone from a university in the South West of England talking about bootlegs. Anyway Scott of Rubber Dubber Records is the inspiration for this channel and Syd Barrett of course. Interests:

Brilliant psych version of this motown classic It's a Ten from Len
As big Joe used to sing, Boogie my Woogie ya al l!
To be played on every election day, especially this one 4.7.24!
I love this song..
Credit to Jeffery Lee Pierce (The Gun Club) for helping to inspire the idea for a Blondie version. Pierce, who ran the West Coast Blondie fan club, sent a cassette tape to Debrah Harry and Chris Stein. Clearly, it was a perfect song for Blondie to record.
PETER CASE is a LEGEND!
Jiaraaaa
why the fuck did spotify remove this track
When music was music and not noise❤
So apparently the singer only had one lung… (i know right… dude is belting it out bananas level) everyone in the band was 19-22ish and they got an extremely large amount of cash together to record on some state of the art cutting edge 16 track studio in London.. Some scumbag stole the tapes, bounced to America and published the album under the name Orange-utan.. The band’s name was actually Hunter…. Look up the story it’s crazy.. anyway much like everyone else I was completely face melted when I first heard it… it’s definitely a fun one to walk around too… gets me ready for a mission… peace love and pass the ammunition… 1976/2024
This is Trout Mask era Beefheart sans the blues plus urban decay and smack. Wunderbar.
Never knew that this group who had the huge hit "One tin soldier" (from the movie Billy Jack) had so many songs---never found any of their records in my crate digging
Im a huge charley patton fan I've listened to all his sides many times and most people hear "down the dirt road" where he says "been to the nation" (he might not have even said that that's open to interpretation, as are all of his lyrics AFAIK) and immediately start talking about Native American roots but that's really a misconception and anyone who says that probably doesn't know much about charley patton. He made black music and lived as a black man, in fact I even heard interviews from those who knew him that were told to shut up about his race, don't mention his hair to him, et cetera. And when he was pressed about it all he would say was "Im here now, that's all I'm worried about" the only thing people quote when they talk about his "native roots" is that he was most likely mixed race ("He looked sorta like Puerto Rican or something") and that he taps the guitar. Tapping the guitar is not Native American, it was just part of his deal when he played guitar. All of his riffs, all of his lyrics, his entire legacy, is black music and black culture. So I don't get the native thing, just because some people say he had native blood, which is entirely possible, he lived as a black man among other blacks and if you hear him speak on record he speaks with a "black" accent, probably not the right way to say that but you know what I mean. So, an anecdote about him possibly having native blood, on one track he mentions "the nation" and he liked to tap a polyrhythm type deal on his guitar. That really isn't much evidence, specially considering literally every other aspect of him and his music involved black culture, countless traditional blues and spiritual lyrics that are part of black culture, et cetera. People who knew him literally said he didn't like to talk about race or his hair, to not press him on it, he lived as a black man. So IDK about "native origins"
After loving Blondie's huge hit cover version of the track since it's release, this is the very first time I've heard The Nerves original. While it is obviously a good rendition that has pretty much the same arrangement, I must say that I still much prefer Blondie's iconic cover of the tune.
Take a listen at this cover, ex-Yugoslavian band from Rijeka, Croatia. A bit heavier sound with similar but not exact lyrics, it's awesome! czcams.com/video/G3f7CZSqFwQ/video.html

Back in the day, us Ipswichian 'hippies' marched along to St. Matthews Swimming Pool to witness this band Stray. At a strategic moment, a Crow Scarer thing went off in time with the music naturally. As one, the entire floor of seated 'hippies' all stood up as the reverberations amplified by under the sprung floor and devoid of water. The entry to one's fundament was somewhat alarmingly aroused as a result. A very audibly "Sheet" went round the place at the time.... happy day's

Just really discovered this band though I saw Del Bronham with later line-up at Colne blues festival a few years ago and enjoyed it. This sounds great. Need to get some of their stuff. Cheers.

Grate song. To share. Goodness in honesty and appreciative sound of sound. A lot like a being.

This was DIY lo-fi punk before anyone else was doing it. Armand says he recorded it at a local radio station and it was so small they couldn't fit the drums in, then he got his brother to make the cover art by hand as he worked in graphic design, and he had to glue it all and make all the sleeves, then he just pressed it at a local plant with his own money and released on his own "House of Guitars" label. Ten years before bands like Television Personalities, Half Japanese, Swell Maps, Buzzcocks, Go-Betweens... etc would go on to do the same thing and start the DIY movement.
Super titre ! Excellente interprétation. La version de Blondie respecte la version originale avec en plus l'énergie et la présence de Debbie Harry.❤

This song has always messed me up since the record came out
So garage ...a good thing. But it lacks proper production. Kind of its appeal but they could've done much better with the production and still kept the original feel. Adding a measure of Blondie to the cover made a big difference.
