Rennstrecke is a 1200m long black slope, located in Oberwiesenhal, Germany. It is the most demanding slope with FIS homologation in eastern Germany. Skiers can use a chair lift or Schwebebahn (featured in this movie), which is the oldest cable car in Germany, operating since 1924. Oberwiesenthal, on the other hand, is Germany's highest located town (914m above sea level). Here's my story: skibu...

grazie molto interessante utile per capire come muoversi in vetta dato che andrò con mio figlio a giugno..
nice
Was this actually filmed in summer? I see in other videos people are just going up and down with T-lifts on quite short slopes. Thanks for the extra info to determine the length of my stay in july.
It was filmed at beginning of July 2018. Basically the summer slopes were the ones along the t-bars, the others were little flat and I used them to get to the t-bars from the top station and then to return to the bottom station. It was 6 years ago so it’s best to check updated map of the slopes, there is new gondola from the Italian side and the slopes could have been rearranged as the glacier melts.
@@skibum_plthank you!
Sölden bestes Skigebiet in Östereich 💪👍🇦🇹
I want to do this in June. You just go to Zermatt ski resort and take the cable trolly up there?
Yes :)
Doesn't look to steep? I'm not super experienced but i can do this for sure, but my gf is not as advanced as me @@skibum_pl
Thanks. Any experience going up there from Cervinia? I think it's easier to reach when going by plane. Zermatt is a 3 hour drive from the airport.@@skibum_pl

GREECE !!! it's not only for summer... mykonos... santorini... rhodes...and the others islands!!! We have mountains... 20 ski centers...for mountain bike...rivers for canyoning...GREECE IS FOR FOUR SEASSONS HOLIDAYS ! IT IT LIKE PARADISE !!!... MY FRIENDS !!!
Nice skiing. Especially as he gets off the "saddle". I've always missed it until now. I wouldn't know that. But I like what I see. (Szép síelés. Főleg, hogy leszáll a „nyeregből”. Eddig mindig hiányzott. Én ezt nem tudnám. De tetszik amit látok.) ☺
I spent a summer at ski camp in Zermatt eons ago. I remember skiing over the same terrain every day and, over time, a crevasse would open up. So, ski carefully! I also recall getting on a T-bar on the Swiss side and it was well-maintained with the attendant there to help people. Then, I went to the Italian side. The lift attendant was sitting in a lounge chair and when I took the T-bar in my hand, it fell off. He just shrugged his shoulders and smiled. Even if you can't see the border between the two countries., you know where it is. A great experience!
So nice that you and your family can afford so much luxury in your life. 🤮
Are the skiing area open in June first week2023?
Yes.
There area few unexploited areas which should be developed in order to increase the skiing experience.
Great video! Thank you for sharing it. So excited about going there tomorrow 🥰
Still les 3 vallées is better. I've been to both i gotta say the views and everything is better
Are you really comparing Tatra mountains to Alps? 🙈
@@skibum_pl not really yk just saying
Pěkný sjezd toho černého ramínka.
We are going back in Feb! Cant wait!
the slope looks pretty flat, I don't know if for a snwoboarder is really worth it
Top part (along t-bars) is fine, then it becomes pretty flat. Snowboarders would likely need to walk.
unglaublich . so ungefähr hatten wir es auch in sölden . oktober 2021 !!! mfg bruno
Beautiful place. I ski'd here Feb 2022 with my daughters. You can see the ocean from the top. I also liked the side with the trees (slope 7). What a unique experience. Cheaper to hire skis in Arachova than from the mountain. Also during the week days the lifts are not crowded. We hired a jeep for the week & stayed in Arachova.
Im going skiing in Spain this year with a friend, but skiing in Greece? This blows my mind!!!!
'Tis a pretty mountainous country
Top!
Amazing, such a pretty ski village. Would love to live there

Is it possible to get from Cervinia to Matterhorn Glacier using Lifts (piste 85,82) in mid July? Would it make sense to book a hotel on Italien side?
Unfortunately I don’t know
We stayed in Cervinia right when the mountain opened for ski season last year. In the days before the Italian side opened, people would take their skis up from Cervinia to Plateau Rosa, then ski down from there to Trockner Steg on the Zermatt/Swiss side. Then you take the 03 gondola from Trockner Steg up to the top of the glacier. Then ski down to Plateau Rosa to get back to the Italian side. That is essentially the glacier area for summer skiing. So, while this is eminently doable, the issue is that sometimes they shut down the gondola from Trockner Steg due to high winds. If that happens, you’re stuck on the Swiss side and cannot get back to Cervinia. Heard stories of the $600-800 (4 hr) cab rides back to Italy. Don’t know if they are entirely true, but the drive is that long, as there is no direct way - gotta drive around the mountain. We spent a day doing it and it was a blast. Great outdoor bar at Trockner Steg with perfect views of the Matterhorn. Order an Aperol Spritz and lay out in the sun and snow. Note: Run 7 on the Italian side wasn’t even open on opening day, but we did get to go down 6 to Plan Maison.
@@bmac7453 many thanks! Yes I also learned from locals, thar Cervinia is not an option for summer skiing, but it is planned to open a new lift next year, than it will be a good option 😀
Wow I enjoying to watch this
Looking good and quiet,,, is this the longest run?
Yes, it’s the longest one
Are there any shops that rent ski equipment like ski, boots, helmets and stuff?
Yes, I did it myself.
Now the Mercedes OM471, does it still have all the emissions stuff on it like the over the road Detroit/Mercedes Benz OM471? This vehicle looks like a blast to operate
I would imagine how it would it be for IOC to host the Olympics here.
The resort is super small to Host the Olympics
That would cost Greece a lot as they would have to construct ski jumping ramps etc
I am becoming an accountant and I live in the US. my busy season is from January-April so I was looking for resorts that I can visit outside of those months. Thank you for sharing this video of amazing conditions in July! Looks like it's well worth the trip.
From May till July you have several other Alpine resorts to choose from, with good snowing conditions guaranteed. Hintertux and Molltaler Gletscher in Austria or Passo Stelvio in Italy, for example.
I hate to spoil your optimism, but it's not exactly certain that it's always going to look like this in July. For example, in 2022, it snowed very little during winter, and it was a hot year above average in the region... so by the time July arrived, the snow had pretty much melted away leaving the glacier bare black exposed.

Always go after a few bad weather days
Now I know! 🙈
dont they blow artificial snow on it ?
No, not in summer.
What a dilemma. The views are breathtaking and I’d love to ski on summer vacation but the winter must be just incredible. I think if I spend the money for my family (from Canada) I’ll probably wait for the winter and really enjoy the slopes.
In winter glacier resorts can be extremely cold and there are many, many others open. Summer skiing is so great, as you can also enjoy mountain bikes or hiking. :)
@@skibum_pl kayaking this summer but we’ll see how COVID treats us this winter. Take care!
Did you need snow chains on the car?
Yes, on snowy days they are mandatory.
Amazing sky ang video 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
daaaaaaamn. Never knew Greece had *any* skiing, let alone such *awesome* skiing! I grew up in Lake Tahoe, CA, but even there we didn't have such massive, sublime peaks and ski runs.
It's not very popular in Europe either. :) Same like that one: czcams.com/video/YBYP0Q82RRU/video.html

Great vid. Its very unusual for the Italian number 7 to be opened this time of the year right?
Well, it's included in the "summer skiing area" but indeed it's usually first to close.
Would you agree there is about a 5 percent chance to find such conditions at the end of July?
Depends on the weather, but end of July is usually OK.
@@skibum_pl thanks. The map shows 2 blue slopes from the top. Are they usually open?
@@Kti432 it is basically one slope, just little steeper on one side. :)
@@skibum_pl and would you say its blue enough for most beginners?
@@Kti432 Basically yes. In morning, even in summer, it can be very hard and icy in the morning, but it becomes softer before noon.
Did you really go in august? Great vid.
Yup. Summer skiing is the best. 🙂
