Though not my play style, I think a fun one of wouldn't hurt the deck at all. I know people in MD (though its mostly becasue Floo is hurting really bad in MD) that play it anywhere from 1-3. Either way it can definitely work. If only it was a wind winged beasts like Wind statue so it was searchable lol.

Correct, and make sure you don't battle 3 or more times in one turn. Winds is amazing, especially setting up when they make you go first to deny the Field Spell.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO ye but they can quick synchro rudy board wipe during battle phase. Also tenpai going first is not half bad. They pass on balls and fenrir and no matter what you draw you can't win.

@dimitarhinchovski1883 if they have the necessary monsters then they can, but don't go into the battle phase before tributing them away and keep your battles that turn under 3, and you'll be fine. Also I have a few videos in the next few weeks going up where I deal with that exact board lol. That board looses to a single board breaker. Stay tuned!

The main deck from my last deck profile I'm still very happy with so its essentially the same, but I'm moving some cards around in the side deck rn. Current side deck I'm testing with is - • Book of Moon ×3 • Cosmic Cyclone × 3 • Hareld of the Abyss × 1 • Dimensional Fissure × 2 • D.D Crow × 1 • Infinite Impermenance × 3 • Dimensional Barrier × 1 • Simul Archfiend × 1 All generally good cards that can either help break boards, protect from certain hand traps and stop Snake-Eye and other crazy combo decks from cooking for 10 years. Mainly decks I'm thinking about when side decking are Snake-Eye, Tenpai, Yubel, Centur-ion and Purrely. Those are the most common "meta" decks I see the most at my locals, so obviously the side deck can vary. I hope this helps!

Main deck is still 100 % the same, but I'm testing 3 Book of Moon in the side rn.

Its definitely an interesting synergy! The boards they make can be crazy at times! I have a few more against similar decks going up this week. A bit more back and forth though than this one lol.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO Btw on my first local this Saturday I went 2 3. I beat a flufal player and a purrely deck(holy jesus the purrely pilot was bad) And got beaten by tenpai, pure kashtira and lost the mirror matchup with another floo. Not gonna pretend like I'm better or something than the floo player but I opened 5 spells. Side note a pro fire kind salad player is trying to convert me to salamangreat (he is scared of the shifter), but I am going to stay true to the empen sect.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO oh yeah. if you can live without a battle phase, it's such a sweet bait just because Runick is hated so darn much.

I think Floo ( though definitely not teir 1) can still compete with the higher level decks like Snake-Eye, but it's Snake-eye so anything that isn't snake-eye is going to be an uphill battle. I actually built the deck around killing the types of boards that Snake-Eye puts up, but its not perfect and can depend on how familiar you are with some of the interactions they can put up and the interactions you can put up with Floo. I think it just depends on what you're most comfortable playing. Also when you get hands like that it can be frustrating, I would try to not let it get to you. I think you just got unlucky, which sucks but happens. I get hands like that too every once in a while lol and it hurts XD.

Its important to bait as much as you can before you commit to your floo combo, becasue once you get the ball rolling you have to play on the defensive. I try to deal with the board first with my board breakers and then bait anything out that I think might hurt (hand trap wise). I would give a few examples but it really just depends on the board state and what your hand looks like.

I think in this format you can win with a decent amount of decks as long as you're very comfortable with what you can do and what your opponent can do.

It doesn't matter what I play tho they have two omni negates apolusa with two stacks, a bounce and protection. Also they are not cracked but not bad either they are not going to get baited.

That's why I personally run cards like Dark ruler and change of heart with cards like thrust and the pots to get them if you don't open them. Not to mention you with a decent floo hand you can easily play around a two mat appo, and even if they bounce the field, there are several situations where you're set up to do it again on their turn with dreaming town. But again this is just my experience and my opinion.

As a Horus player, I'm sorry you had to see that lol.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO Hah, nah, I deserve it. Horus is just extremely weak to an open like that. Horus may be the last vestige of old school pendulums by proxy, but getting maxx C'd, Shiftered, ashed, or Ogred Hurts a lot.

The more I see horus and Shining Sarc, the more I want to try them out as a deck lol. I have some replays against that exact deck coming out within the next few weeks. It can put up some crazy boards!

@@BeardedSnowlYGO Ive never even looked at shining sarc, but I get where your coming from. Horus has a crazy amount of brick consistency to it. I pulled out so many games with battle phase thanks to Horus.

As long as its in the GY you can activate the second effect whenever as long as its immediately after you tribute summon big bird, but only immediately after you tribute summon a big bird. In the case of the video I wanted to wait until they used King Sarc's effect atleast three times to limit their plays since I only had one round of normal summons on their turn.

As long as you don't do the Acid golem thing we're good XD. You have to be super careful when playing against Mikanko lol. I was not expecting to see that Infernoble Knight quickplay negate from the deck XD.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO honestly... it's not to shocking. Mikanko has two kinds of players ive encountered. the first is more pure like i do it, so a fight could end in a moment. others are using Mikanko cards in warrior piles, usually Infernoble.

(Though not many) I have a few where I lose on the channel, and I have a few more in the woodwork as well! Not to boast about myself but I don't lose very often lol (otherwise I'd post more of it), though again I'm FAR from perfect at this game. Those are great ideas that I'll definitely make happen! @@BeardedSnowlYGO rumor has it im getting my Espirits next MD cycle, so... very much happy with that, but also rumors of centurion and Yubel. with my focus divided i managed to get my Horus/Resonator/Runick through some paces. there was some hilarious matches, incluing an actual win vs a SEFK player, and running into Modern Paleo builds, plus that one glorious person still attempting mayakashi mill. honestly, probably the most intriguing event ive had in MD that usually would stress me out.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO the Espirit or Esprit support? pretty good for it's size. I'm as into them for the lore as much as the effects this go around. so quick explanation of lore, then effects. we have 2 new Rituals in the form of the "Baron" and "Baroness" as "shades", versions when they were younger. works since the whole story of Esprit is based on the Tanabata, and has to do with love seperated by distance, in this case, the stars themselves, aided by birds to communicate across the way and even meet. small aside- I vastly prefer the japanese names here, but apparently the english name of Shinobird actually kind works if instead of thinking of the Shinobi- as ninja you consider the characters in japanese to mean "longing or Missing", so like lovebirds, which is a way it can be in the japanese, though i still prefer the japanese name due to how english works, and i feel the scheme falls apart at the Baron and Baroness. the Japanese name of the archetype is "Esupuritto", which upon translation some brought out Esprit, which in itself is a french way to say "spirit". Sorry about the name dive there, it just is in my head whenever i talk about archetypes like this one. we also get a field magic that represents a Himorogi, or a kind of Shinto Shrine. Back to the actual cards- So the Shades are both level 4 rituals, count as their older forms when in hand or on field, if banished can summon themselves back the following turn and retain the spirit bounce when left on the field at end step. the new Peahen (Baroness) searches any backrow that mentions "spirit monster" including the new field magic on summon, while tributing the new Peacock (Baron) searches any spirit monster AND a ritual magic, so a type search that can also be an archetypical pre-preparation of rites. their levels also allow preparation of rites more value in the deck. the banish clauses may not at first make sense, unless you know that their ritual magic allows for banishing spirits from the grave as material as well, and they have an in-archetype trap searchable with the new Peahen that banishes spirits in grave as cost to use it to stall battles. It's tied together by the Field magic which got localized as Stars Align above the Shrine (how i wish it was the ygoorg translation. they went "The Himorogi where Stars Align" and i love that, but when it comes to religious references Its one of the few times i grumble but deal with it. still would be nice for people to learn what that is directly...). It allows you to ritual summon from deck any wind ritual by using spirits or Esprit tokens on field as the material, which is the whole archetypes rituals. on top of that twice per turn during the end phase when a wind monster returns to your hand you can either retrieve a spirit monster or any ritual magic from your banish zone or grave, or directly set "Stars align across the milky way" from the deck, which is a Esprit themed trap card that is now searchable through this that allows you to as an HOPT reveal a ritual on hand to search one with the same level to hand but another name, and as a banish from grave effect can let you send to grave a ritual magic to use it's effect. so while they only made 3 cards here, look at what it did- new levels of deck consistency, promoted the Esprit to being the archetype standard bearer of spirits as a whole if they weren't already at this point, and even made prior unsearchable cards that support their archetype or whole monster category searchable. but the greatest thing of all of the new support? The deck actually has an in archetype turn 1 play now, mostly via getting to the trap card to allow you to interrupt with a big Esprit ritual summon via the grave banish, even though the deck is probably still better going second because of the consistency you now have to drop the big Esprits. the deck also better benefits now from other spirits moreso than it already did, giving the Tama's more use and.. if all else fails... your the closest to intended keeper of Amano Iwato and Yata-Garasu. and your playing spirits here... no mercy. I will always be a fan of spirits, plus i love the theme they went with here, directly referencing elements of Shinto, so while this archetype isn't great these days I wager... i'm still gonna play it.

My thoughts exactly lol. It was so funny becasue the second they nib'd me I was like "no way they have an imperm set right!?" XD

Yep! Everytime Empen battles! He can essentially win a battle against something 5k ATK or less with his ability. Its crazy there isn't a once per turn on Empen at all lol.

@@BeardedSnowlYGO I got into a nutty match with a Dino player where they basically pitched the game, and the Horus cards pushed the finish. I sat there stunned.

@DarkCT Sometimes people's brains just turn off lol. I played against Tenpai yesterday and I played well enough to break the board and survive for like 4 turns, but I could have went for the kill like 2 times and forgot the second synchro has a BP effect lock. Thank God I was ahead on advantage because I should NOT have won that with how much I threw lol. Do not play complex card games when you're sick and brain dead lol.

For an "older" deck, they really did put up a formidable board! But two evenly matches and full combo is two evenly matches and full combo lol.

PLEASE DO NOT SAY THAT lol. I think its always a possibility, but they also unlimited every "pot" card that isn't pot of greed. I feel like if they wanted to, they would have already. There's some areas where the TCG and OCG conflict with banlist ideas. I think draw spells is one if them.

Advent (and swallow's cowrie) can save you from every hand trap but ash, but if you have map you can just add whatever you were trying to get with advent/cowrie if they ashed you anyways. You just have to be careful with your chain blocking for ash, chain blocking is your main way around ash and droll. Called by and crossout (with a target) also do the job. That or you can bait out ashes with terraforming, or pot cards. Oh and shifter stops Droll, veiler and ogre with it's lingering effect.

What does map change. Is it cuz you have the extra normal summon and it doesn't matter that robina normal summon is negated. How exactly do you chain block the ash. Droll is a shifter victim so im not worried about that

@dimitarhinchovski1883 Correct. With Floo you just have to be careful with how you start your combo with ash. Map gives you the extra normal summon, so depending on your hand and the bird (s) you have in your hand ash doesn't matter. If there is a bird that is banished you chain 1 the bird you normal summoned and chain 2 the banished bird to add back to hand. They can't ash the C1 normal summon becasue they missed timing. The bird's trigger effects when banished can help hand traps miss timing.

If someone ashes the effect of Robina or Eglen for example, you will not be allowed to use their secondary effect to get an additional normal summon.

And this is with Sharvara at one lol, people forget this deck is still 100% playable if you know what you're doing lol

@DarkCT I've been playing Unchained on the side for about 2ish years now. Really picked it up after the support came out. I don't post much on it on the channel since it never does well, but I'll still sprinkle Unchained (as well as some other decks) every once in awhile. The Sharvara hit really does hurt, but with playing a single "garnet" (even though it has other uses technically) you can end on the same crazy end board. I wasn't even done with my interactions yet lol. I feel like the deck isn't the easiest to pilot so once it gets a fairly big limit, people go play with another toy lol. Same goes for Reasue-Ace.

Magnificent Map gives you an extra normal summon separate from your "normal" normal summon lol, and the effect to add back from banished is a hard once per turn per little bird. Please feel free to ask me anything else if/or when it comes to mind!

What does per little bird mean. Only one copy can use the effect or is it every individual eglen has its own one per turn.

@dimitarhinchovski1883 In the situation you're asking you can only add one of the two banished Eglen back to hand from banishment when you normal summon that turn. Sorry for the confusion. I ment the add back to hand from banishment when you normal summon is a hard once per turn for all of the small birds (Robina, Eglen, Stri, Toccan) meaning you can only add each name back from banishment once per turn. Sorry if I over complicated my answer lol.

I love the continuous spell so much lol. One of the many unique points in Floo's play style! And yeah I see it being splashed into decks as an engine all the time. I even saw a shining sarcophagus deck running them, two different sarcs in one deck XD. How is it running for you in MD??

@@BeardedSnowlYGO so far it's a bit janky, but... I kind of like it. Horus just does a whole lot, but not as it's own deck really, more an engine to anothers. i dislike the term "engine" but... honestly the deck is designed in such a fashion even I have a hard time calling any Horus deck "pure". the horus retrain is a wierdly off "boss" monster, and the Horus sons other than imsety in hand are just discard fodder. that said, they open up interesting routes, especially with a tiny package of some number of vision resonator and crimson gaia. i run a 3-2 of those, and this inclusion opens up easy level 10 synchros on top of the Horus builds ability to link and do exceed plays. my biggest issue is that Horus and Runick mostly butt heads to me out of Hugin and imsety making a quick Chaos Angel it seems. Horus uses battle for removal throwing around the sarcs send to grave effect and the potentially hefty attack stats, while runick avoids it. Horus can't reach full in archetype power without their field magic also in play, and Runick crumbles entirely without theirs. Horus+ Resonator does give good Chengying access though. which may as well be synchro runicks boss monster. there's also the fact Coach King is a great hand refiller in runick. I've already got some ideas on how to possibly alter the deck as is, biggest ones being cutting the Horus retrain or the Runick Core, but I don't want to make the move yet.

I'm happy to hear it looks like it works, but just needs tuning! I'm sure you'll figure it out over time. The boss retrain does seem kind of off, but it sounds like everything else for the most part works (minus the feild spell issue). It seem like a very non-linear deck, so you can have more freedom with your plays. I wish you the best of luck with further deck testing/developments! Please continue to keep me updated!

@@BeardedSnowlYGO I got pushed to work on Horus when about the only person who could critique my Card playing among my friend group said "your going on about Vaalmonica a lot, but what about Horus? weren't you all ready to get Egyptian again?" and my inner gravekeeper just couldn't resist. I've got some deck ideas to consider, including a skull servant one for the funsies, but Horus just makes for such a solid backbone. as to the possible cuts. The Horus retrain is very much a questionable card, despite the fact it's end effects are all variants of nondestruction, nontargeting removal which i rate very highly normally, and probably should even more so considering MD just got the Fire King support. i don't know who decided for the decks boss to only be good in the hand with no in archetype recursion for em beyond the canopic protector, but it really doesn't click with me. it can be useful im sure, but im yet to see it pop off, whereas i know other people would rather keep cards that aid in opponent negation or floodgating for other horus variants. The Runick selection. it's still 4 of my ED and 15 of my main deck, many of which I often don't want to use because Horus is great at battle tempo. thats a lot of cards of questionable value, especially since there may be other hybrids that use the ED slots a lot better, and there is room to put more staples as well at least.
