Kavetham Short Story . . . . . . . ♡~~~~~~~~~♡ *The sound of rain can be heard pouring outside, Al Haitham sighs heavily. His gaze shifting to outside the window, he closes his book and places it on the coffee table. His eyes narrow as he notices the time on the clock on the wall. 'It's almost midnight yet he still ain't home.' He stands up from the couch unable to continue sitting still, usually he wouldn't worry about Kaveh being out late. Yet, tonight wasn't like that at all..he has a weird feeling in his chest that won't leave him alone. He grabs an umbrella and his keys before walking out the door, the umbrella opens with a soft click. His footsteps the only noise in the otherwise quiet and empty streets.* *The doors to the tavern open, he steps in, the rain becoming a brow distant noise. He closes his umbrella and makes a beeline for the table he knows Kaveh always goes to. He stops right next to him, he's slumped over the table with a few bottles beside his arm.* "Another client pissed you off or are you just weeping here for no reason?" *His voice startling Kaveh out of whatever state he was in.* "None of your business, I'm not obligated to tell you everything" *Kaveh answers as he grabs the only bottle that still has some contents in it. He's about to press the rim against his lips when the bottle is snatched away from his hands.* "..Really Al Haitham? Now you aren't allowing me to drink, I'm not bothering you anyway" *He wants to snatch the bottle back but isn't the mood to escalate their arguments like usual.* *Al Haitham places the bottle back on the table, his hand sliding over next to Kaveh's.* "You are here because your client rejected the first draft of your sketch, despite having worked on it for almost a week straight with barely any hours of sleep. Correct?" *His eyes narrow as he grabs Kaveh by the shoulders, pushing him backwards against the chair.* "How far will you keep going? How many times are you going to let yourself get trampled on?" *His hands tighten their grip, he's unusually worried today.* *To say Kaveh is surprised is an understatement, he's never heard Al Haitham speak such words with genuine and raw care.* "Al Haitham.." *He places his hand on his wrists, holding them* "You know more than anyone why I do what I do" *He suddenly yanks Al Haitham onto his lap. He blames the alcohol for making him act different, even though he knows it would take more than what he drank for him to begin acting drunk.* "Such words from the one and only Al Haitham, are you doing alright?" *His red eyes focused completely on the younger man on his lap. His hands going from his wrists to his shoulders, he won't go lower unless he gets a sign of consent.* *Al Haitham breath hitches from the contact yet he doesn't seem to mind it at all, it's Kaveh after all.* "Of course I know why you act like a complete and utter fool. Even then, you need to start caring more about yourself than others. Or is that such a hard concept for you to grasp?" *He can feel a certain spark in the air, his hands moving from his sides and up Kaveh's shoulders until they are wrapped around his neck. He leans closer, their breathes mingling together.* "Haha, is that so?" *Kaveh smirks, his pupils dilating. His hands immediately sliding down Al Haitham's sides.* "That's not a hard concept to understand my dear Dove. Are you sure you aren't jealous by all the attention I receive? You sure don't like the attention from other's but I know you crave my attention on you. But of course being the rational man you are, you won't ever admit it. You would rather let things happen and trust that I won't let you down." *He rests his hands on Al Haitham's hips, rubbing them.* "I appreciate the trust, truly. Although you can be as irrational with me as you want. You can turn that pretty little mind of yours off" *He says, his tone soft and endearing.* *Al Haitham can't stop the blush from forming on his face, he isn't one to get affected by words easily. That is unless you are Kaveh. He presses his forehead against Kaveh's, feeling his warmth.* "Say what you will, you know my answer without me having to say it. Perhaps we should go somewhere quieter, I don't mind the looks but.." *He gives him a chaste kiss on the cheek.* "This isn't the kind of setting I would prefer with you." *He stands up from Kaveh's lap and offers a hand to him. Their fingers intertwine as they walk out the tavern. He is about to open the umbrella before Kaveh stops him.* "No need for that Dove, a simple drizzle won't do anything to us." *Kaveh begins walking ahead, dragging Al Haitham with him. Their footsteps echoing against the wet pavement, the small barely visible puddles ripple around their shoes. They make it to the empty street right before their house. He stops his pace and turns around, letting go of Al Haitham's hand briefly.* "May I have this dance?" *He puts one hand behind his back, the water droplets drip down the side of his face. His hair slightly sticking to his face.* *Al Haitham accepts Kaveh's outstretched hand, his other going on his shoulder. His hair looking tame for once, although he could care less about how the rain is going to leave them. Oh how he adores seeing Kaveh relaxed and loving, he is his home forever. He let's a smile slip past his stoic face, his pupils dilating.* "You look like a wet dog." *He says with a chuckle, his dimples showing.* *Kaveh chuckles in return, he holds Al Haitham's hand with such delicacy. His other hand on his waist, bringing him closer.* "Well, the moon looks lovely tonight but not as lovely as the angel Infront of me" *He leans his forehead against Al Haitham's. Their nose's boop in a soft manner, their love language is in the small details rather than the bigger ones.* *Al Haitham squeezes Kaveh's hand.* "The real beauty here is you my cute Pomeranian" *He says softly, kissing him to silence the gasp he knew would come out. The kiss is passionate and slow, their lips sliding against each other. They don't stop waltzing at all, their feet continue to move to the invisible beat. Al Haitham feels his earpieces being removed, the sound of their loud breathing embarrassing him. The tips of his ear are bright red, his heart pounding faster in his chest.* *Kaveh pulls away from the kiss, pocketing Al Haitham's earpieces.* "Dove, you took the words from my mouth." *He bring him closer. Al Haitham doesn't call him any pet names often but when he does he just melts.* "I really do love everything about you, even if you are a smartass." *He grins.* "Glad to know that this 'smartass' is able to deal with a rowdy puppy like you" *Al Haitham whispers out, he won't be losing this competition anytime soon. Their bickering fading into the background as the hours pass by. So much for getting a good night's sleep or working on the clients blueprint.* . . . . . . . ♡~~~~~~~~~♡ Whew, well that is that<⁠(⁠￣⁠︶⁠￣⁠)⁠> I hope anyone who actually read this enjoyed it. I'm not that familiar with writing stories yet, but I hope I captured their attitudes perfectly. That and I hope there aren't any typos. I'm really bad at grammer(⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠) so sorry if some of it is cringey or whatever.

It's not like your actual target, a human trafficker, already started to suspect you of being a spy, nooo you also have this blonde smug looking merchant staring at you. His purple-blue shining eyes do radiate a unique flair though. It's like diving into a vast dimension and still you cannot grasp his intentions or anything really. "My friend, I think it's your turn. Do you call or fold? Although I would recommend you to call. There is no chance of winning if you don't take the gamble, right?" His head is resting, relaxed on his gloved hand, and this... sheepish smile of his... this isn't a good situation for you. "Still hesitating, aren't you. Well, let me make it more enticing then. I'll answer any of your questions about the ... nice gentlemen next to us every time you win a round or about me, of course. I wouldn't want your interest in me to be unsatisfied." Suprised by his offer, you try to decide on your next move as your target starts to protest against the idea. "Aventurine, what are you thinking? Remember we're partners, right? So don't you dare do anything stupid!" "Of course not, Sir. I don't make deals that don't pay off." As he shifted his gaze back to you, you started seeing his calculating and... amused demeanour. This is an all-or-nothing situation, but your intuition caught on, so you decided to play his game. But the nickname crazed gambler quite suits him. He won round after round by sheer luck, which seems outerwordly. To your suprise though, his questions resembled more of idle chit chat like "How do you enjoy the night so far" or "What type of drink do you prefer". His partner, though, became more and more agitated until he burst out with anger. "Stop fooling around, gambler! We're not here to play games and chat. Find out who they are or get rid of them of their useless!" Aventurine lets out a low chuckle, not even glancing at the raging man. "Well, it seems like you aren't aware that you're the fool in this story, my friend. Tossing people aside like damaged puppets seems like something you'd do, slaver. I don't think there is any interesting business between you and the IPC so why don't you hurry off and die in a ditch." As the inflamed man tries to take a couple of swings towards Aventurine, you immediately used the distraction and took the man's suitcase, which was sitting under the table and the only thing that binded you to this mess. As you try to leave the room a voice starts calling out to you. As you turn around you see Aventurine skillfully tying up the beat up man with a couple of precise movements. "Excuse me my friend but I think this suitcase belongs to me so would you be so kind and hand it over." He still has his charming smile on his face, but his eyes reflected a cold seriousness. You pointed your gun towards him ready to immediately leave the scene. "I don't think you would be suprised if I say no. Everything went according to your plan until now, right. Using me as a distraction to get your hands on these papers. And I'm going to be honest, you did most of the work and such but I believe these papers are better in my hands so I'll be leaving with this." As you talked, you slowly walked over to a window. But before you could jump through it, he started to laugh. It was a low pitched, charming one. If it wasn't for this situation, you would have stayed to listen for it a little longer. And with one snap of his hands you've been surrounded by members of the IPC, who broke in through the doors and even the air vents. "Don't think our little game is over, friend. I'm the one making the rules because on this table you're the challenger. And I didn't get to ask my last question. So before we go any futher, answer me this "Why are you so obsessed with me, darling?"

To be honest this entire situation was just so uncomfortable to you. Okay you should have probably started at the beginning. Aventurine and Veritas had invited you to one of the most giant casinos in the world you were currently docked at, your friends on the star rail had made an effort to explain that you had to make friends outside of the people on the rail itself so you didn't refuse their offer and went with them . So you bought a nice suit from Mr. Welt seeing as the things that March wore were not really your thing, Dan heng had flat out refused you borrowing his nice outing clothes and you still being moderately new to the crew didn't have a lot of outfits went to your last two hopes Himeko and Welt. Himeko was excited to see if you would like her clothing but her clothing was too elegant for your taste, she was rather the type to overdress than go out underdressed and you apologised to her for getting her hopes down.Then you went to welt, your last hope and to your surprise he had a few suits that were just your size in the back of his closet from when he was younger. With a few adjustments from Pom-Pom and March the suit felt just right. So dressed with a suit and a bit of excitement, you went with aventurine and Dr.ratio they both joked that you looked alot older than you actually were in the suit. You’d joke with them saying you may have only been born a few months ago but you weren't mentally a toddler nor was your body. They both agreed , as you got to the entrance of the casino they had already set up a booth for the three of you. So you settled down and enjoyed a bit of food before bringing out the alcohol , then that's when you panicked a little , having never actually consumed alcohol in the small window of existence since you actually were born you asked them not to serve you any. They gave you understanding looks and drank only themselves. That's when it went down hill, after only a few drinks both seemed a bit under the influence but they continued and ended up at the gambling table. Dr.ratio seemed to have stopped drinking being the smarter one of the two of them and had taken to playing blackjack with an apostolate wasted aventurine. You had been watching them cheering the both of them and had looked at both their cards. They had been extremely strict in not allowing you to not play blackjack explaining that you were still considered too young to play tho Aventurine had been against it until Dr. ratio gave him a slap on the back of the head. So you watched the both of them play until well after Aventurine seemed to have once out of nowhere, then Dr.ratio got really out of control being drunk and Aventurine being too mad well them both being wasted got kicked out. You had been escorted out with them and helped them back to the Star rail where everyone on board was very very mad at both ratio and Aventurine for allowing themselves to get wasted. Let’s just say you weren't able to go out with those two again
