    Appreciate your time Michael that is a useful video. There are quite a few videos which present how to do this and I have done this successfully with the CSR before also but what is missing are really helpful troubleshooting videos. And I agree the documents since Cisco incorporated Viptela into IOS are really poor. The whole Viptela stuff is light on documentation for troubleshooting especially with regard to certificates when things go wrong. Personally I love the Viptela / Sdwan stuff but it can be a real pain trying to troubleshoot when things go wrong.

    Hi Michael, Really informative video, Does ospf domain-id supported on Nexus 7K? recently i have a scenario where on my core router (using BGP) must need to only allow routes which are actually redistributed from Customer's Nexus 7K itself (i.e. static routes) and else drop rest of all, so i decided to use route-map to set tag on routes which are redistributed by Customer's Nexus 7K itself and allow them and drop any other routes which are not redistributed from Nexus itself. but it is nightmare for me as i have to always update my prefix-list once any new static route added on Customer's Nexus 7K. :( if domain-id is supported on Nexus 7K then it will good as i will just match domain-id and allow routes otherwise all traffic will be block and of course whenever new static route will be added on Nexus 7K then it will come with same domain-id and will be allowed automatically, No Prefix-list No router-map... please correct me if I'm wrong..

    Hi guys, please your advice. I created a smart account and also I created a Wan Edge list of 3 devices. I am new to SD-WAN and is confusing in regards to license. Do you have to pay anything by creating the WAN Edge list and download the file and use it in a gns3 lab

    Yep, this show output has always bothered me. I have to think "min TTL after decrementing". If I do ttl-security hops 1, the router should only accept a min incoming TTL of 255. It should be 256-hops, but a lot of people think it is 255-hops. As far as I know, decrementing doesn't happen upon ingress, it happens on egress, so considering it 255-hops because the router will decrement it by 1 doesn't seem correct anyways. Oh well.

    to which area does The link between R3 -R6 belong to?

    • @andrewohanian5132
      @andrewohanian5132 Před 11 měsíci

      Area 123, that is the only way the path can go R7-R6-R3-R4 in the first place. Both ABRs have VLs to area 0 via R1, and "by default" should be routing inter-area traffic through the backbone. In this case, that means they should route through R1. However, with capability transit on (which it is by default), the routers can use the transit area (area 123 here) as a shortcut to get to the backbone. So R6 will use the area 123 path to R3 because it is a lower cost than going through R1. If the R3-R6 link was any area other than area 123, this wouldn't work, because the transit area for the VL is the only area that can be used as the shortcut path.
