  • The OSPF domain ID is used in MPLS networks when OSPF is the PE-CE protocol. This video demonstrates why it's needed and how we can use it to influence routing.

Perfect, just what we needed, more caveats of Cisco networks. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Michael, Really informative video, Does ospf domain-id supported on Nexus 7K? recently i have a scenario where on my core router (using BGP) must need to only allow routes which are actually redistributed from Customer's Nexus 7K itself (i.e. static routes) and else drop rest of all, so i decided to use route-map to set tag on routes which are redistributed by Customer's Nexus 7K itself and allow them and drop any other routes which are not redistributed from Nexus itself.
but it is nightmare for me as i have to always update my prefix-list once any new static route added on Customer's Nexus 7K. :(
if domain-id is supported on Nexus 7K then it will good as i will just match domain-id and allow routes otherwise all traffic will be block and of course whenever new static route will be added on Nexus 7K then it will come with same domain-id and will be allowed automatically, No Prefix-list No router-map... please correct me if I'm wrong..
