Adventures of Ania and Bartek with two little kids sailing across oceans on a 15 meter trimaran as a way of promoting alternative way of life off the grid. In 2014 we managed to materialize our dreams and traded a land based home in Poland for a permanent life on the ocean aboard our dearest new home - sailboat "Poly".
For us sailing is a way of free life in sync and harmony with nature and each other. It's a way of experiencing life, people, and places, entirely on our own terms. For many years it was just a dream, but we followed it and it came true. We are here and now, no longer chasing the dream.
We'd like to share it with you so that you can follow your dreams, too. Follow us to see all the amazing, interesting, crazy, scary, and funny people, places and situations that we experience and learn from.
Welcome to our family life unplugged.

One of the most interesting parts of our boat life is our hurricane strategy. In the last few days we faced our first dilemma of which way to run from the first hurricane of this 2023 season in the Caribbean named Bret. We share all that and more with you in this episode. So beautiful and practical in every way. Happy home life!
Where are you guys, we need more videos😁❤️
What kind of shipyard and trimaran model is it?
Neel 50. One and only. The Neel prototype.
You actually made me rethink everything. What’s the minimum speed a buyer should look to achieve for that outcome?
Not making videos anymore?
You've made a fantastic family home. Enjoy it and have safe travels🙂
This Family must have been a test tube experiment from some secret base
But what happened to the fish! Did he get it?!
Beautiful boat!
Please excuse my question I am new here but, why does your crew member carry his tether? What good does that do?
Oh this is awesome.. just started watching. Going to watch part2 after this!
Bold statement in title. How far can she point upwind? Can she match or beat true wind? What's her typical reach like? Biggest seas she's been through? What's her Top speed so far? How low or high in latitudes have you taken her? What's her sail plan like? - what would you want to make her sail plan if you could snap your fingers and make it happen in an instant. What's her displacement and considerations when fully loaded for a crossing... All these things are so interesting to know . I hope you see this comment and respond . ❤
WOW nice ! Top !
Very nice job, enjoy your trimaran ❤
Very beautiful ❤🙂
The windows will leak. the carpet will rot. The water treatment system will break (often). I'm glad that you and your family are affluent enough to afford these luxuries. good luck :)
the grest trimaran,be happyness and lucky.
In such rough sea is a Trimaran safer than a catamaran?
At that point I would say it depends on the operator and the choice of course, sails, etc. Both give you the speed to position yourself in relation to the system in such way as to end up on broad reach or quartering tailwind. It is the best, stable, safe, and reasonably comfortable point of sail even in 50+ knots winds as we have experienced few times. If you were to try to sail into such winds it would be a death wish with such boat. Having said all that I like the added stability/beam of the tri vs. cat. Thanks for a good question. Cheers. B
@@sailoceans Thank you so much for your reply. I’m working for few years now on Tristan da Cunha island. We have some sailboats passing by. The sea can be incredibly rough. Often the boats are coming from South America on their way to Cape Town.
@@sailoceans thank you very much for your answer. I have been working on Tristan da Cunha island for the past 7 years. Often rough seas. I saw few sailboats coming back from South America heading towards Cape Town. But very few Trimarans.
nothing more to say than love your boat. Alot of respect to your family
Thank you :)
Nice to see the real side of sailin a tri. 👍👍🙏🙏🇬🇧🇬🇧🥃🥃
Anyone else notice the big purple dildo in the drawer under the bed😂
Hmm. The engine hatch doesn't meet USCG safety requirements. Water tight single handle point.
Nice boat. Congratulations. Just a quick note. At 22:25 you probably don't want to use the term "polyamory". It has particular meaning in English that I suspect you don't intend. Cheers.
Thank you. Yes, we do intend that. Cheers.
@@sailoceans Really? Just to be less subtle, polyamory involves things like swinging, wife swapping and basically having s3x with people who are not your spouse often in a group setting. And if I understand your response correctly, you're doing this on a small boat with your kids meters away? I hope I'm misunderstanding you, but if not that's a pretty bold choice on how to raise your kids. Again, I'm a pretty liberal guy, but I can't imagine that you mean what I just wrote above and that this is a language based misunderstanding....
@@HD46409 I had to check. So here it is straight from Wikipedia: Polyamory - the practice of engaging in multiple romantic (and typically sexual) relationships, with the consent of all the people involved. So yes, polyamory is about emotional non-binary relations and could be sexual, but it does not have to be. My understanding is that swinging is all about sexual and not about emotional/romantic, which seems exact opposite, so yes we did not have that in mind. I am also not sure how you married the two terms. Cheers.
@@jachtemprzezswiat From the perspective of the English language and common understanding, you are splitting hairs on the word polyamory. Most English speakers that you are going to run into in the sailing community are going to make the assumption that I did. You may find the level of distinction and specificity that you suggest (i.e., that polyamory is not always sexual) in the "alternative lifestyle" communities, but I doubt that's who you're mostly speaking to with videos about boats. Just to be clear, I'm not moralizing about any lifestyle that is undertaken by consenting adults including the "lifestyle", but as non-native English speakers you should be aware of the linguistic territory that you are inadvertently or deliberately heading into. You do you.
This was an amazing vid. Never knew you can do such extensive work on a boat. Final product looks incredible. Beautiful home. Thanks for creating this vid.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I had no idea that a refit is code for the depths & lengths in which your boat got stripped down wowza ! Thats what i call a remodel extreme. Its funny how you will state whats fancy schmancy vs whats not lol very down to earth folks is my guess. In the boating world maybe that isnt always the case. Wonderful videos & Cleary the ((( Fridge ))) comes with the boat when sold 😅😅😅😅
HI you are awesome! Calm seas and fair winds for you. What is the name of your yacht model?
It's the Neel 50. Cheers.
What is model name your trimaran?
Красавчики! А напарник по Русски умеет? Можете Рассказать
Gram hull great for hurricane force winds. Just make sure she's sea worthy
is the solar panel only for light, electronic stuff, etc? or for powering the propeller?
For everything except the propulsion.
@@sailoceans how many day the longest you'v been in ocean only? and the fastest speed u ever had?

That hardtop bimini and partially enclosed cockpit seems like it would be absolutely amazing for a cruiser. Having a safe place partially enclosed outside while cruising, or functional outdoor sunroom area while anchored would be a game changer. Really impressed with the design, the refits looking amazing!
Thank you. Yes, that was the most amazing change in our daily life. Cheers. B
Who is Adam that designed the new roof??
He's a naval architect and our good friend and partner in LovingYachts yacht consultancy company we run. Cheers. B
cool guys - a trimaran shows again high performance and safety in strong winds anyway
ya those monohull boyz will be so jealous
Are you ever going to start back doing English videos
How close to the wind can your trimaran sail? How much solar PV capacity? Thanks. 😎
True angle over ground in best conditions can be around 40. Apparent can be just under 30, again in best conditions. 4.2 kW of solars. Cheers. B
@@sailoceans Thanks 🙏 👍
Cheers! kudos! new subscriber. amazing beautiful transformation into a tech savy modern upgrades sailing yacht. Proud owners set sail for new sea port destinations/ family adventures
1.5 yrs retro fit finally harvest fruits live aboard practicality, no none senses wasted designs, knowing the past limits.
Awesome, thank you!
80,000 mi in the well forecast tropics/Caribbean you can rarely see over 40 knots of wind. once you dip into the subtropics and the southern ocean reality changes, three hulls all going in different directions
@manmadegods - Three hulls all going in different directions? Are you some kind of bot?
Good thinking
You could afford to do it.
That's awesome. watching from Philippines. shoutout to 329k members of Batangas Resorts Group
Marvelous boat
Looks like english paid for the boat. Cause they come over to England and still are jobs.
How did you finance the purchase first of the Neel, and how can you afford all of this? I had an agreement for an AA Piver 48 at $65,000 that I couldn’t close due to the fact no one wanted to lend me the money! (I’m a disabled veteran that grosses $96,000 per year) I love the refrigerator and I wanted to do the hydraulic lift on the beds. I appreciated how you rebuilt the boat, I’ve been a fan of Neel trimarans for years and even watched videos on your boat before you bought it!
We spoke about it on few occasions in different episodes, but basically it's a combination of loan, savings, and running income for the refits. Cheers. B
It’s not what you think
Grinder maybe...
Yep.
great reasoning there ! have fun folks!
Thanks, you too!
It is so lovely that while you sailed on such rough weather you hung the towels to dry outside. I´m sure they were pretty dry when you had a shower LOL
