steven willson , en su setup es muy exigente , por mas que logre investigar, no encuentro como steven, hizo que su vieja strat, con su simulador obtenga ese sonido de guitarra acustica tan impecable, steven en sonido es un genio si dejar por fuera su gran nivel de composicion y ejecuccion.

So was this their first album released by the band but on paper the band had 5 or so records under their belts when Steven got the call his band was wanted to tour and he scrambled to now make a band our of a made up back story of a band that was a joke amongst some friends? And as for being in a pinch and putting together a band to go tour with he scraped up some not too shabby members. Even the drummer is nothing to sneeze at. You can’t listen and compare, just listen. If this was still the band, they’re still an extremely talented band.

I am under the impression that steve is a Gentle Giant fan. I was blessed to see that band up close in intimate settings. Tower Theater Philadelphia twice, even better wss at Swarthmore College... that wss mind blowing. I was 17 i think 1077... i think maybe it was 76. The Missing Piece album wasn't out yet

They really need to My Bloody Valentine-style compilation release of all the 90s No-Man house singles.

18-05-1993 date on the video .... That must be the EXACT date I got into No-Man. All because of this performance on the Beat, next day I went out and picked up Loveblows and Lovecries coupled with Lovesighs as a double CD...still got it. What a great band...which in turn led me to P. Tree, Samuel Smiles, Alias Grace and all the rest of that "collective" that was so vibrant in the 90's onward - I still grab what I can by them all today. I can remember them doing two songs this and Sweetheart Raw ...I think, I don't remember the third. Also if I remember correctly Transglobal Underground were on the same night and they did Temple Head and I, Voyager. Is there any more footage of No-Man on The Beat available?

I am a huge Steven Wilson / Porcupine Tree fan. Not heard much of No-Man. This is f@&king brilliant. I will definitely track down more stuff by them. And yes great to see Chris Maitland, brilliant groove on this track.

When I was young I used to think these guys were talented. 15 years later of performing myself as a professional musician, I now realize just how talented Steven Wilson truly is. He plays that guitar like its a part of his body. Its nuts.

Chris really is an amazing drummer and a great chap. I was lucky enough to be one of Chris's drum students between 1998-2004 and you couldn't meet a nicer guy. Sadly I never got to see him perform in PT, but my parents saw him at the Scala in '99 (I was too young to be allowed in). My Dad, who describes himself as a 'professional listener' said it was one of the best drumming performances he's ever seen. He just plays with so much feeling and Lightbulb sun will always be my favourite album - I love the drums on this!

I came to PT as a fan of GH with Crimson. As a drummer dude, I was like, who is that guy. So I found PT, my favorite band since KC. I like Chris, love this version of the band. But Garvin is simply the best drummer playing now, IMHO. Sometimes just a little distracting because his playing always has me going.... what? His polyrythms and double bass drum... , he's the ultimate craftsman.
