- Porcupine Tree in performance during their Spring 1996 tour.
Performance is complete save for the first section of Idiot Prayer and a tiny section missing during Radioactive Toy.
The Spring 1996 tour was a chance for PT to road-test new material such as then unreleased Idiot Prayer, Sever, Waiting (Phase One) and Signify
The tour also saw the band dust off two cuts from the little performed first album, On The Sunday of Life. Sound quality is beyond excellent for being an audience recording.

A 29 year old legend
I adore prog rock and long hair. 🦻🏼🎼🧔♀️💖
This is an absolute Gem!
Hi Jim, I like this too. Happy Holidays Brother. Shane
Feels weird listening to The Nostalgia Factory and Linton Samuel Dawson live
I like how the bassist's appearance didn't change much in the decades to follow.
Colin.

He still looks like that now, just a bit chubbier lol.
He always has a shit-eating grin on his face!
Colins got a painting in his atic ala Dorian Grey. Regards Jon, Na Colins a good soul with O.R.K now.@@wirralnomad

My first PT show was two days earlier.
Early Porcupine Tree was the best.
For my generation , this is MEDICINE ! PURE MAGIC , best wishes and thankyou from , rural france ! cheers ritchie .
Hits you in the feels for sure🔥
Man that Voyage 34 solo is killer!
I spent years sanding my log home so I could re-stain and reseal. I don't knot how many times I listened to this album. Many. I had only recently discovered Porcupine Tree and then Riverside. Love them. And now Lunatic Soul. Thank you for posting this recording . It is quite good.Peace. A 63 year old Polish Grunk
Radioactive toy is just mesmerizing 🖤
My favorite era of the band, saw them live back then 6 times in Athens...glorious nights

Linton Samuel Dawson 😀👍👍👍
Great quality, massive props to whoever filmed this. I bet a cam that could catch footage and audio like this in 1996 would have a) cost a fortune, and b) been hecking massive!.
The audio is most likely taken from the desk.
@@dinamho Definitely! And mixed - live stage audio requires a totally different mix than a recording which is to be played on a stereo.
Stationary camera suggests an audience member but that sound HAD to have come off the board the mix is too awesome... OK... The sound guys buddy and or girlfriend took the video and was able to snake the audio off the board?! (Scientific Wild Assed Guess)
I think maybe it's filmed by the band from the foh desk...?
Anyway, amazing footage, thanks for sharing!
I have never heard SW performing LSD live, thought it was forbidden :D This set list is what I always dreamt to see PT as live.
Since then they had a magnifiscent performances...
Wow. This is my fabulous period of PT and watching it, not only listening as on Comadivine for example is a mystical experience 🙂. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece 👍
This truly captures their early brilliance and command of challenging time signitures.
In hi-def🤙
Wow
Porcupine Tree, MASTERPIECE!!!!💯💯💯💯💯
Unlike many commenters here, this is not my favorite era of PT, but this is a great video! You can really see how much Wilson's live singing has improved since.
О да,его вокал сильно прогрессировал.это очень здорово
I don’t believe I ever saw them perform The Nostalgia Factory. Awesome!
This is so cool! Interesting to see them way before I discovered them.
WoW! Wow! Wow! Thanks for uploading. Especially relevant since PT IS BACK!
Thanks for posting this. I'm a long time PT fan but I've never seen video from this period. Steven never fails to impress. Not to mention Richard and Colin.
Pretty shocking for a VCR tape to have this kind of quality, thank you so much for sharing! It's a real pleasure to see the band at a time when they were very much unknown outside the more underground circles, still brilliant, of course.
Pretty much unknown outside of the UK and just barely known inside of the UK, I was fortunate enough to be a big fan of a few bands that they were the support band for which is where I discovered them.
Man....1996 was one of best times in the life game. Now its all down the tubes.
Starting with idiot prayer! Fantastic!!
I loved being able to actually see them play moonloop!
One diamond at collectors library!!! A bit low in volume but sounds amazingly good!!!
Merci beaucoup pour ce magnifique concert.
Shout out to the 80s/ 90s babies who were kids during this show! Been my favourite band for ten years now roll on the London show!!!! Thanks for the upload:)
I am but I stopped listening to them 12 years ago
Thanks for uploading this gem :)
Started off with Idiot's Prayer, Awesome!
Thanks for posting.
Hearing the live version of “idiot prayer” is sonic bliss to me.
Thank you for this epic throwback of the most underrated nu skool prog rock band ever!
Glad Sky Moves Sideways progressed , it was chaos when the dance beat and drums collision occurred! ✌️
Thank you so much for sharing. I love this era of Porcupine Tree.
Absolute goosebumps… wow
Dream set list!
Fantastic! Best PT era IMHO. Hope this would be available on DVD one day ...
I like this shortened live version of Always Never, it starts in the best moment.
I saw them in Northampton I think in 1996, purely because of R B and been hooked eversince, I wasn't sure I would see them live again!
I’m new to PT…..while I’m listening, at first take, sounds like an amalgamation of Pink Floyd and Yes…..and to me, that’s a very good thing….
Awesome, thanks for sharing!! Saw them in NYC in June 1996, they first gig in US
Fantastic, cheers!!
Grandi i Porcupine Tree 🔝👏👍
Un pede-rasta ha messo un pollice in giù

I came to porcupine tree via Japan was a big fan
Colin nailed in Radioactive toy... Miss him...
Chris Maitland is by far one of the most underrated prog rock drummers of all times
Way better than the technical wankery that is Gavin Harrison
@@greatcoldemptiness Meh... Gavin is a BAD man on the skins bro. Mike Portnoy too
@ Great Cold Emptiness. 😂😂😂 Post that remark on some of The TPT vids where people won’t shut up about Gavin… as though the rest of the band doesn’t exist.
I agree, some of his work in early PT is legendary. Very light touch and incredible feel.
Moonloop is superb 😍
