At 4:35, we see Tunnel Number 3, the Tagard Tunnel/bridges over Weber River.. One can take this exit and get up close to this rather noteworthy original ROW construction. When completed late spring of 1869, A.J. Russell, UP's imminent photographer, took photos here, along with his friend, photographer Charles Savage, of SLC.., minus the interstate intrusion. Some of these images can be viewed on OMCA site. Mormon labor helped build this area, under threat from CPRR, headed from west, in it's push to gain congressional funding. You know a first-class locomotive like the Big Boy needs a first-class caboose at the rear of the train. There are dozens of UP cabooses that have been fully restored around the country, and I'm sure one of the owners would be happy to let UP use the caboose on excursions. Instead, we have a caboose tied on to the end of the train, that looks like it was setting in a Trailer Park, for the last 30 years, and they slapped a pair of trucks under and added it to the train

At 7:05 in your video and a bit before. You caught a UAP checking out the BigBoY!! It make changes course at one point. So quick it’s not possible by an aircraft or helicopter.

I understand the benefits to the train itself. But I love to see these old steamers pulling the train by themselves. It shows their true awesomeness and power. Big boy needs no help from no diesel.

That is the My Place Inn across the street after last car had passed. We have stayed there a few times, while enjoying "Original Transcon" RR enthusiast' activities. The UP Museum up the street is an excellent visit, and I am still wanting to see Jack Casement's pearl handled revolver, but was not on view last we were there. Sherman Summit nearby, a nice day outing, and Ames Monument along with turntable artifacts nearby. Thanks for the video, and memories, from Darrell.😇

No deisel engine? I know the 4014 doesn't need one, but they usually have one attached to help. It's good to see her pulling freight without help.
