Hi Sarah, I’m thinking about getting a strip down saddle (ranch cutter). Do you find the fenders going through the seat jockey cause any pinching or discomfort on your legs?? Thanks!!
Hey! I have never had an issue with it pinching, it's always been super comfortable. I love it. 😊
What size skirt does this saddle have? I know this is an old video and you’ll problably never see this but my mare is an Arab and the Corriente gullet and angle will fit her perfectly but she can’t have a skirt bigger than a 25 inch
Hey! I'm sorry I never saw this but it's approximately 23 inches I think? The saddle pad is a 28" long by 30" wide. This exact reason is one part of why I got this saddle. I have short backed horses and wanted a short skirt because of it.
@@sarahgunn1176thanks this is great!!! Short backed horses are great but saddle fitting is such a pain😮💨
@@MyMareFlickaAndFriends yes it really is! It's awesome when you can find one though! I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. Did you ever get one of these?
Great Vid. Thanks
You’re tough as nails to fall off then immediately get back up and re-run. You can tell your horse trusts you by how he came back to you after the fall. I also really liked your mindset after the event. 💩happens, and sometimes for us horse people, it’s 🐴💩. lol
What's your favorite pad to ride in with the strip-down?
I use a 5 star 3/4 inch barrel pad with it. Love the combo on pretty much any horse.
Good review Too heavy for me. Thank you
What model is this saddle on their website?
It's a blend of characteristics from a couple saddles. So I custom ordered with with different features. Started with a barrel strip down saddle and ordered my preferences from there.
Your actually not supposed to oil everything like your back cinch and stirrup leathers. Because it will weaken it and break.
Now that you have had it for awhile, do you think that running barrels in the in-seat rigging was much better than the traditional barrel saddle fenders, or about the same, or more difficult? And what about if we were to use this saddle for reining? Thanks!
I wouldn't use a barrel saddle for reining, it won't be nearly as comfortable. It can be done, but they're built differently, and you might find you're getting in the horses way.
I like it, there's more leg movement for sure. Bur it doesn't throw feet behind you either. I don't see why you couldn't use it for reining. You might have to be more intentional about sitting balanced but I don't see why I wouldn't work. I've used it for just about everything now.
The walk of shame, oh my God
Sarah, you are such an inspiration. I love your positive out look and the fact that you have no quit in you is fantastic. Thank you for all that you do for all of us in the horse community. All the best to you and your family.
Thank you!

What number saddle was that ? I haven’t seen that one on the website
So sorry for the delay! This saddle is the CSB 509 with the leather Cheyenne roll, a leather horn, and a hard seat with running W trim all around the saddle.
How long are each of your sessions with maverick?
Hi! Sarah's training sessions with Maverick were usually 30-60 minutes long. Now that he's doing better with his training, we sometimes do a little groundwork for a few minutes.
thank you for sharing. horse barn is beautiful! and that is a lot to clear for the arena. they had to hall off all that brush, too? look forward to the development.
Our pleasure! Yes, the space our friend cleared for the arena is quite a large one. She used the bucket on her tractor to push all of the brush into a big brush pile. Thank you for watching!
Be sure to watch to the end!!
Great work
Thank you!
