My name is Chris Johnson and I love to hike. But In 2015 I was diagnosed with a rare lung disease called Desquamative Interstitial Pneumonia leaving me with only about 30-40% lung capacity that will never get better and only get worse over time. I have a passion for the outdoors and a dream/goal of becoming an Adirondack 46'er and to also one day successfully complete a thru hike of the appalachian trail before I am no longer able to do the things that I love. With this channel I hope to show you my journey, give insight on trail and conditions, and I also hope it inspires those who have been told its not possible. Never give up, always keep putting one foot in front of the other, and enjoy the journey!

Plane Wreckage On Mt. Marshall In The Adirondack High Peaks!
This a unedited video from a hiking trip to Mt. Marshall on 8/13/21. After leaving the summit we headed down the trail that takes you from Marshall down to a trail called Cold Brook Pass. The plane crash landed in 1969 and is about 50 to 100 yards from that trail in the Adirondack High Peaks. It sits at around 3800 ft up and is pretty tough to find if you don't know where to look.

I Apriciate that very much! Yea especially acending from Lake colden/ Avalanche Lake but I will tell you what, that was one fun hike and one I will never ever forget!! Luckily I had already hiked Big AL earlier that summer in great weather so I didn't miss out on the view from the summit lol

Thanks for the comment! I had the same problem in early June haha. Got all the way to the last ladder if you're coming up from Lake colden and then rain and wind started up and you couldn't see more than like 15 ft out. Definitely worth the second hike! Hope you have better luck in the future!

😂 They definitely come in handy there...those poles have saved my butt a few times weather it be from falling or boggy situations like that
Beautiful hike. Just did upper and lower Wolfjaw but wasn’t able to complete the rest of the Great Range due to bad weather. Thankfully we’ll get a chance to hike Seward this weekend!

I'm heading back in a week and trying to decide if I should go back for seward and Seymour or overnight camp at flowed lands and get marshall...decisions decisions 🤔. Hopefully you get a chance to revisit the great range too especially gothics. One of my favorite views is off gothics!

I will admit I was skeptical at first but after talking with AMR security personal about the issues they encountered from the overcrowding and parking I totally get it. To me it seemed like they were trying to make it safer for both cars and hikers. I had a very pleasant experience with it! Brian_hikes_all_day did you make it across unscathed on your first time? I gotta say its definitely one of my favorite trails of all time in the Adirondacks, not just the floating log part but the entire trail from the logs past feldspar and uphill lean to all the way to Lake Colden
