I think every footballer must make these kind of videos! Then people will realize before criticizing them after injury. Me myself having ACL surgery next week can feel every inch of this video! I have cried occasionally not because of fear of surgery. But because of a feeling of relativity

As a hardcore football lover and currently undergoing prehab for ACL surgery next week. I am feeling this so badly❤ I am not a professional footballer but I have done everything to play football! Be it buying boots from college pocketmoney and spending a month on nearly no food. Or anything. And now suffered ACL . I am not a pro athlete with world class physio facilities so I am so depressed peobably for not being able to return to field. Or maybe yes but now I am 30, by recovery, I will be 31 and who knows. I am so depressed right now. And feel the pain and agony of every athlete who would have gone through ligament repairs. Not because of the surgery, but because of the love of that sport! I feel you hector, I feel you all ❤❤❤ For the love of sport, for the love of football! ❤ Lets keep this sport alive till the humanity is there on earth! ❤ And my wishes for anyone who is going through this/any kind of injury/surgery!

Thanks for sharing this, had my first acl surgery 2014 and unluckily just had my other legs knee ACL reconstructed two weeks ago. If you are here because you've got an injury, from someone that has gone through it before, stay positive and attack the rehab in a can do way! It's a long road back but it does go quickly when you look back at it a couple of years later. The body has a funny way of forgetting things. If you are not a professional sports player like Hector, take your time in getting back to sport, maybe 12 months and just remember that the physio is the most important part to derisking reinjury. Lets go! 👍🔥

Hey there Hec, how’s it going man? I hope you’re doing well.. and I also hope you don’t think of me as soft or a cry baby but Im typing this comment as tears fall down my face from crying (not from fear or pain but out of mere frustration). I am a semi pro/amateur footballer and a club/ high school coach for local youth teams in my city and I underwent acl reconstructive surgery about 12 hours ago. Now before my surgery I felt like everything seemed fine and I knew everything was going to be okay. Just like you I tried to keep a positive mental attitude when my injury occurred, already knowing that I more than likely had torn my acl while suffering a similar injury during a game. As time progressed and I did some pre-operation rehab with my physical therapist for a few weeks, I began to feel better. I felt I had reached a peak in my motivation to put forth my best effort, to work hard and to come back stronger than ever. Something I wanted to do for myself mainly but also to be an example to the youth boys and girls that I coach. They motivate me more than you can imagine to work hard and get better. I want to be an inspiration to them and show them that even when you get tested in life and may not see the end of it, there’s always sunshine after the storm. However now that I’m resting/recovering at home, I somehow came across your documentary while being unable to sleep and this is the first episode that I watch. Everything is starting to hit me all over again.. I know that with time I will get healthier and return to my normal self if not stronger.. but its been a tough couple of hours and my mind doesn’t seem to catch a break. Not being able to do much on my own for myself right now is very hard on me mentally. I feel like I’m useless and a burden to those who surround me. At times I also question how good of a comeback I will be able to make or how of a normal state will my knee/leg be able to return to. But what really hurts me the most is not being able to be on the pitch at the moment. 💔 Whether its to coach my youth players/teams, to train, to play an actual game or simply to goof around with the lads. It’s an emotional pain I wish no other footballer has to ever experience. I don’t even know why I’m typing this anymore or if you will even get the chance to see it. But as a lover for the beautiful game, something I think we both share in our heart. I’m reaching out now for some advice/comfort from you, a fellow footballer who has also gone through what I am currently experiencing. I’m sure for you it must have been a lot harder as this was your occupation in life. What were some of the things you were able to do to stay positive/happy on the inside even when things would get hard/frustrating?? I hope this comment makes it all the way to you and that you get the chance to reply. I would also say that I hope to one day get to see you in person but I think that’s more of a wish. A wish that I hope comes true. It would be an amazing and very cheerful experience to meet you in person. You know how every footballer has an idol because of how good of a player they once were? Well I think you have now become my idol and not simply because of your skill, but because of your character, your attitude and your strength! ❤️💪🏽 I believe you are someone I can look up to and draw inspiration from. So thank you for being my idol. I wish you nothing but the best! I wish you happiness and the upmost success in your journey of what we call life! Take care Hec!
