I caught a 60 pound Bluefin on a Jigmaster with 25lb. Ande mono. It took me 45 minutes to land it on the Polaris Deluxe about 35 years ago.

Seen this type of ignorance too many times. One person burns a couple hours of the boats fishing time only to dump the fish...meanwhile 20 other people have no opportunity to hook up....Guarantee you, half those people feel cheated while the other half have no clue they just got screwed by a selfish fool. I've been surf fishing for about 15 years now and the only time I've been approached by the fish and game is when I'm fishing in malibu. I fish all the way from San Diego and as far north as Pismo beach. Good to see that our money is not going to waste, but I would like to see more interactions with anglers. Not just in Malibu...

Sorry to ask but: Why would you use a much weaker leader than your main line? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the stronger main line? I mean, if you are using 50lb main line and then 20lb leader, the weakest link are the 20lbs of the leader hence rendering "useless" the "extra" 50lbs of the main line. I would say to at least match the capacity of the both lines. In my case I use X capacity main line and Y>=X leader for higher capacity against abrasion, teeth, fins, etc. Just saying.

Sandworms work awesome for any beach fishing. Ive not tried sand crabs, the blue swimmer crabs here in Australia are far to tasty to use for bait!

The gunmetal comes in an actual gunmetal color and a greenish tint.. quality control doesn't look over the batches that come out green... I went in for a 15t and it was green .. my 16 is a beautiful gun metal .. so I settled for a silver 15t .. if u like it tho rock it. Nobody will notice unless they stare at it

100% someone from one of the houses called it in... we in the area all know what those Malibu types are like. They think it's private property because the beach is hard to get onto. If you find yourself in the area, the Malibu Lagoon has excellent fishing! Walk all the way to the beach from the footpath. You can park for free in the Malibu Country Mart parking lot, and there is very little foot traffic on weekday mornings.

Hi,im new to flourocarbon. I have tried the palomar in several different monos and braid. I find that the palomar pinches off inside the knot. I am switching to florocarbon for leaders,catfishing,.will a snell hold and a uni knot? Or do i like always just have to tie and break lines to find the best knot ?

Looks random to me. I’ve been asked for my license a few times in the most unassuming places. Even if it was called in, the good thing is you’re legit. Now the DFG is your ally! They can go back and say you’re fishing within the law. The takeaway is always have your license handy!

I used to fish in San Francisco back in the late 90's/early 00's. I was checked by them a couple of times. Easy prey I guess. 😂 I always bought a licence with a Striped Bass sticker.
