Hows the paint holding up?

I've had my DT Sierra 316l for a year now and I love it. It was my 2nd AR and it has never given me an issue. I did upgrade a few things, like the bcg just so I can have some extra parts. Optics planet has a great spare parts kit. I have added a decent lpvo with offset red dot and it's on target. I'll take it from 0 yrds to 350 yrds without any issues. It now costs more than the $499, i think they are going for around $700 now, and its worth every penny. I would say it feels like more of a mid tier rifle. Also, I think it shoots better with the 62 or 67 grain ammo. I would like to know if you still have yours and how you like it now ? Great video, thank you

Think I'm gonna leave my rifle black and just paint the stock, handguard and grip. Just looking for a good od green paint.

Would be nice if someone did a video on why the AR-9 rifles so dirty and how to fix the problems which the manufactures will not. I have a Palmetto State Armory PX9 Gen-4 that fires consistently with no jams but that thing is utterly filthy. I have NEVER used or seen any pistol or rifle that puts so much blow-back crud on the brass casing and in the receiver I did research on my gun and was told my the manufacture and many here on youtube to upgrade the buffer to the 8oz x 4" long buffer which will significantly reduce the problem. I paid nearly 45.00 after tax and shipping for it but it did VERY little to keep the crud in the barrel instead of blowing back into the receiver. When paying 850.00 for a gun, we should never have to deal with an issue like this You should see how quickly my walnut tumbling media gets filthy while cleaning a single batch of 9mm cases. Sure, I can pre-clean the cases before I put them in the tumbler but we should NEVER have to do that when all 4 of my 9mm pistols that are made from a different manufacture does not crud up the cases and can easily be thrown in the tumbler without first having to clean them and then there is the issue of how much more often of having to clean the AR-9 due to all of the crud being blown back into the receiver.

What size are the screws on the handguard? T 20 seems too small on mine.

Good video. They sell a unit that slides into the upper and locks onto another piece to hold it firm for stuff like this. Google it. Works great! “Aluminum Block Rifle Smithing Vise TooI” It might save your receivers from the actual vise pressure.

Del ton ar-15’s are considered VERY underrated. This vid is 2 years old, so I paid 640 for the sierra 316l in 2023.

Tiers? Vastly different? That’s😅 nonsense, unless it’s a build from a handful of manufacturers serving the market for match conditioned guns for US Service Rifle Competition. The reality is there’s a perception of quality for what is merely a divergence from mil spec, which may or may not make a model trustworthy. The bottom-line for a faithful mil spec product is FN period. Most others are like peas in a pod, they taste the same and only their marketing sets them apart.

I absolutely love my Sierra316L and my Mod sport2. I've always had guns but never a modern sport rifle. Another reason is they are made in Elizabethtown North Carolina which is 30 minutes from me so I'm supporting local businesses. But yes with the way criminals are being released after committing violent crimes for no reason I decided to get a few for more punch over my .45 1911 for home defense. 5.56 and 223 are not interchangeable. You can run 223 in a rifle stamped 5.56 But you cannot run 5.56 in a rifle stamped 223.

That 1x6 optic is way too much for that SBR lol I’d put a red dot on that. Even a 1x4 would be too much

Honesty here!!! Reality I own 10.5 DD complete build lantac bcg with a aimpoint T2 and a Geissele 14.5 all Geissele build with eotech. Finally a Del ton 11.5 carbine chrome lined barrel lantac bcg and spike lower with Geissele trigger and AEMS optic. I beat the shit out of my guns. I work them hard and my Del ton hands down is my favorite. That rifle is reliable and strong like the others.

A rail isn't a hand guard but a hand guard can have an integrated rail. The rail is the part you mount accessories (sites, scopes, lasers, lights, foregrips) on.

I got that one as my first AR and love it, started to add upgrades for looks and comfort
