Tunkang mean king in Soninke - sarahule
Thank you for your confirmation.
I didn't know about the piramides in Nigeria
I'm from Curaçao 🇨🇼 and I want to visit this 2 countries so bad 😢😊
What about Guinea Bissau?? They speak the same criole too.
Got it now😂. I will watch all your videos. Thank you
This is a great video. Awesome.
That really does not make sense the population of capeverde in 1600 was less than 1000 people and not that much more in 1700 because of regular droughts. There was no capeverdean sent to ABC islands, it is muchore likely that portuguese speakers came from brazil
Capeverdean creole is not the origin of papiamento, the similarity is because of the original population of abc islands were portuguese speakers from brazil. The Papiamento is just a mix of portuguese and senegambian languages and that is the same why it is similar
Obrigado pa informacao bom sabi ligacao criolo cabo verde
This is a great video
Thanks a lot, fam! Glad you found it to be informative.
Thank you for the value information! I was born on Curaçao. On the ABC islands in the caribbean (Aruba Bonaire and Curaçao ) we speaks papiamento.
Di nada! Mi tambe a nanse na Korsou. I believe it highly important to make people more aware of our history. Porta asina nos por siña fo'i otro anto desaroya mas miho.

The burial of Wagadu's Kings closely resembled the burial of the Pharaohs without the embalming.Pity most information we have of the Wagadu(Ghana) empire are from the written accounts of the Islamic clerics
@Coming To Africa Luango kingdom was Drc Democratic republic of Congo
Our language is not guineensi is criol guineensi is our nationality criol is mix of Mandinka language Wolof Pepel Portuguese
You don't have wolof, wolof is Senegambia, kriol is not a mix of mandinka but a offshoot of papiamento spoken in Curacao, Aruba etc . The mother is Papiamento, the children are Kriol(Guinensi) and Kabuverdianu .
@@lemonade_ib Don't be crazy, Creole was spoken in Cape Verde before the ABC islands(in it current form) even existed.
What is her DNA, she is probably mixed Sa'idi and Nubian.
WOULD LOVE TO BE EDUCATED: I had a conversation with someone the other day about Papiamento. He said it is intelligible with LADINO, which is the ""creole"" Spanish/Portuguese/ HEBREW language of Iberian Sephardic Jews. I said that's very interesting because I've actually learned that it is intelligible with KRIOLU, the creole language of Cabo Verde. So now I'm very curious, because Jews from the Iberian Expulsion of 1492 did come to Cabo Verde when it was first founded! Perhaps Ladino is part of the making of Kriolu?!?
Bo ta papia criolo.
Papia means speak in criollo in Cape Verde Brava Island.
Fake news
How did you decide on that conclusion?
Masha danki mi amigu, i'm from Bonaire ❤ Love, love, love your video
Di nada! Mi ta kontentu ku b’a haña e video aki. Mi ta spera ku mi por bishita Boneiru otro aña.
Do not forget Papimento is spoken on the Island of St.Maarten as well.
That is correct within the context that it was imported by Papiamentu migrants of course. Shell the oil company played a major role during the 80s which propelled intra Caribbean migrations.
Not sint marteners only people from santo
Yeah, the dutch part of sint maarten. But a part also speaks french
@@solomonosemeke2761 yes im from the french side and we speak english or creole haitian or gwada
The Cape Verdan President came to NYC in Brooklyn and he understood what we spoke in Papimento. Arubans in return didn’t understand him. We know this information already.
Thanks for sharing that. Yes I am aware of the partial intelligibility. It’s not surprising really. My response to that is that Papiamentu speakers use open Spanish sounds/vowels. And Kabuverdianu speakers have closed Portuguese sounds/vowels. For example, the Portuguese can understand Spanish better than vice versa. We got to remember that Curaçao, Bonaire and Aruba are in sphere of influence of the Spanish language. And they haven’t had major Portuguese influences since the 1670s.
Egyptians were arabs, probably from Mesopotamia, today's Iraq. They were never blacks, except when the kushites conquered the Egyptian kingdom at the end of the dynastic period. Sorry guys.
You have 0 🧾 proof living in denial lol no1 believes you: czcams.com/video/BQpsdxgpg4k/video.html
Great video
Thank you, fam!
as a dutch antilles, I am happy to find this video, for this history is not taught in school on the islands, just like its not thought that many of us have native indigenous blood running through us from the tainos/aka the arawak people! many of our history has been lost! from my family from my father's side we know that our African ancestors are from the Ashanti tribe and we also have ancestors in our bloodline from the arawak people aka tainos tribe!
Suriname 🇸🇷 😍❤️
Can speakers of papiamento and speakers of Cabo Verde/Guinea Bissau communicate?
I love this question! Having a simple conversation will be possible. However, Kabuverdianu and Guinensi speakers will understand Papiamentu/o speakers more easily than vice versa. The simple explanation is because Papiamentu has been heavily influenced Spanish phonetics. Thus, we tend to have open vowels. And Kabuverdianu and Guinensi have more closed vowels like Portuguese. To give you an idea of what I mean with open vowels. Check out the videos between Portuguese and Spanish speakers! With that being said. Of both speakers speak slowly and adjust their vocabulary often times using older words. You can have a very deep convo.
It's on CZcams, papiamento is spoken in Aruba, Curacao etc. If you speak Guinensi , just listen if you can understand.
Very good research, hoping bon👏🏾
The research is impressive and very compelling. Great video again.. Keep it up the good work!
Obrigadu! I will. Planning to pick the pace again.

Great Aksum TIGRAY history ❤💛
🤩🤩
Thank you so much. I really appreciate this video. It highlighted things that I wanted to know for very long time as a Capeverdean. I’m grateful for the work. Thank you.
Nice work and very little known history of africa and the caribbean. Keep up the great work. Interesting fact is that the english based creole language spoken in sierra leone, known as krio, has a few words of clearly Portuguese origin. Although it is considered an english based creole. Aside from krio, the temne and sherbro languages also preserve many Portuguese derived words from their contact with the Portuguese before british predominance in the region.
A blessing
Thank you, Masha danki pa e informashon 🤎!
Egyptian is a mix of different colonizers...the indigenous people of Kemet/Egypt were African.. this is the misconception that will be a problem in the future now that China raping Africa..they gonna say the Africans were Asian and European one day
The word nyam, meaning to eat, is also used im Antigua, St. Kitts, St. Vincent, Montserrat and some other islands.
Ananse stories are told throughout the Caribbean or at least they were in the past.
Hopefully there’ll be preservation acts on each island. It would be a major loss to lose that connection to Africa.
