Fun fact: When the B-52 first flew there were still 2 veterans of the American Civil War alive and the last pilot to fly the BUFF has not been born yet!!! Given that the aircraft is about to get a retrofit of new Rolls Royce Turbofans it will fly for At least another 30 years. There was a recent story of new BUFF pilot posing next to a BuNo that his dad and grandad also flew. The BUFF is a product of a company that once upon a time built airplanes with an engineering mind set FIRST.

Galli, I love the F135 engine and the echo it makes at low altitude high speed passes.

I flew on those a few times when I was in the Navy designated C 118 . They were referred to as the dollar 18 . On my first flight I brought it to the attention of flight engineer that there was oil streaming out of the engines down the wing he informed me that that was normal and if it should stop let him know because then we would be in trouble .
