Really not much of imagination, just recreating with an AI simulation to give a retro feeling, but.... not really. It is not about only Panavision, is about the design of stuff imagined in that time. Yes, an Oscar was for costumes, but still... Let's take a look on "The Forbiden Planet", or the tv series of "Lost in space" (already in the '60s in fact). Star Wars in '77, in the original release, is quite.... retro😊. Not the same colours as the later movies.

All stuff in this movie, made in '97, doesn't look much different than the stuff imagined in the '50s. Was a good interpretation of "retrofuturism". An interpretation of this as made in the '30s will be interesting. 2030s....😅

My problems with this includes the special effects were even better than the 1995 version, the white washing of the cruise hostess, and father looked too much like Ian Holm. The rest was fantastic, though.
