3:02, Lol ''Or the New Testament.'' Heh. Impromptu by a phenomenal actor in a vicariously emulated performance. 06/30/2024, 5:09am
He killed random people in Missouri as retribution for murders from pro-slavery mobs. The dude was a nut. His plan for Harper's ferry failed miserably. Just because he thought slavery was bad doesn't make him not a crazy loon. There's homicidal people now that rant on the street about freedom but axe people later. I see him as pretty much like that.
Protestants are not christian.
Should be teaching British history in schools of major events that happened in this country Some children don't even know what "D-Day"is which make's me wonder what they actually teach kids in British schools😢😢
Those last 20 seconds at 2:39 blew me away. 😁
What a bunch of Marxist intellectualized baloney! As if 'crimes were defined by 'racist white people', suggesting the violent and theft crimes in that group are NOT the problem, but the problem is criminalizing violent behavior. "If you cannot wow them with wisdom them baffle them with BS."
Thank you
Here on my own cuz I was reminded of this speech after telling someone Sojourn from Overwatch was named after her
The sum of action: John Brown.
Samba societies of Brazil were outlawed, Rhumba societies were frowned upon in Cuba by white Cuban elite, seen as a 'hold-over' from African traditions, both traditions utilized drums as the basis of rhythmic sound organization.
SPEECH CLASS! (Not English or History)
Howard zin
Ok who is this guy
why is Viggo Mortensen here?
John Brown is a literal based Christian gigachad
He tried to free in God's name those the rich elite kept under their foot. John Brown was a Founding Father and a hero.
This was wonderful. Thank you!
Viggo casually there for the intro
🔥🔥🔥
here, cause interested in history. period.
This isn't her speech. If you look it up a white woman rewrote her speech years later and Sojourner's first langauge was Dutch just like 16-20% of the black people living in New Amsterdam, New York and New Jersey. A lot of our AA history has been tainted. A black woman from New York would not be speaking in a southern accent especially if she learned English at 7 or 8. It is speculated that she still had a Dutch accent.
This part of history is so exciting and relevant to some families both in Mexico and the USA who had family members who were forced to migrate from Mexico to the USA in search of safety and employment opportunity. My paternal grandfather and his family and his brother and family were part of this migration. I recently located my grandfather’s brother’s family still living in McFarland, Kansas and Minnesota. Wow this is so exciting, I already bought the book “Bad Mexicans”, thank you Doctor Kelly Lytle Hernandez.
I’m here from my algorithm 💅🏾💅🏾
Overacting af
Here because it’s women’s history month and I randomly wanted to hear this.
Wow i definitely felt every word he said ❤❤❤
i like this song
Am i the only person here by chance
I'm just a middle-aged white woman who felt like listening to this famous speech.
POV: You’re here from an AA bookclub on Facebook & learned ST spoke Dutch!
what should i write chat
wdym?
Wow, this was racist.
what???
blows my mind that this wasn't her actual speech, she had an afro-dutch accent and white women changed the speech to sound like this one. still a fantastic speech regardless
just learned that this isn't the real speech. and after so many Black women have recited this speech so powerfully, too. it's a shame that her real words were not immortalized in this way.
yo this shit is so racist. Sojourner was articulate and knew her bible. This is propaganda. An idealised version of the truth.
The laughter from the audience tells that they are white people who are ignorant to the history of Blacks in American. This speech in no way, shape or form is funny. Smh
Honestly I am infuriated that we did not get the man who yelled on screen “I bid you stand men of the west!!!” To read the speech, I truly feel that a MASSIVE opportunity has been missed here
Proud Black Nationalist!
What a hilarious load of BS. Read an actual scholar's work if you want to know the truth about Columbus. Carol Delaney spent 5 years researching her book about Columbus. This is yet another agenda driven load of lies and omissions. This stand up comic masquerading as a teacher doesn't care about the truth. It wouldn't help him attack the West. ZinnEdProject is far more activism than education, sadly.
Professor Kelly Lytle Hernández had done an excellent research of the Flores Magón movement. I am reading Bad Mexicans for the second time to try to remember so much information.
From social studies😭
No choice
2:22 on the clock when Sojourner has me tapping in , to listen to my friend , and amazing talent , Ms Washington ❤❤ I'm ecstatic to meet you both ! Xo Joey
It's easy to get people to hate Christopher Columbus if you tell them nothing but lies and half-truths about him! The people who created this video hate truth!
Lies We’re Told About Crime: Its over policing, its racism, its not a problem minority its a minority problem 🤣
My daughter randomly selected Sojourner Truth for a 3rd grade history report. What an amazing opportunity to learn about an incredible woman!
"Go on, Git! Git, in his holy name!"
Came back to this video a few times, only to finally realise this is Viggo Mortensen introducing the speech, can anyone give some context of what kind of an event this was?
Off topic but that guy at the start looks like vigo mortensen 😭
LOL the truth is this speech is white washed lol
