Custom 4X4: Rob Knight's BJ42 - the most un-modified LandCruiser?
A throwback to the time we we had a play on some rocks, in quite likely the most unmodified 42 Series LandCruiser we've ever seen. But you know what, this little weapon was daily driven, and keeps up with the big boys off-road. Proof that diff locks are king in the rough stuff, as is the right driving ability.

Unsealed 4x4 has just attended the launch of the all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton. We tested it on-road, off-road and even managed to compare it to the older MR Triton. But is it any good? Does Mitsubishi have a HiLux killer on their hands? Well, that's what we are here to find out. You can read my full in-depth review here: unsealed4x4.com.au/first-drive-of-the-2024-4x4-mitsubishi-triton-has-mit...

Modified 2020 Isuzu D-Max vs 79 Series LandCruiser off-road
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 9 měsíci
We wanted to test Project D-Max off-road, to see if it could keep up with a modified Toyota LC79 Series on 37-inch tyres with a rear coil spring conversion. Why would we do such a thing? Well, it's all just for fun really. But it was interesting to see just how far we could take the modified D-Max. Will it keep up with this beast of a LandCruiser?

Here's a quick walkthrough video of Unsealed 4x4's Project D-Max build. We wanted to create a capable four-wheel drive, that was also comfortable and reliable. We enlisted the help of Pez's 4x4 Fitouts in Sydney to spin the spanners, and chose what we feel is the best gear on the Australian 4x4 market. Sorry about the wind noise, it was a crazy day Check out Part One of the build here: unsealed...

Thanks for the video, i spent awhile turning bits and pushing in and out before giving up using my key to air down. Lol
Up to the top is the easy part to trig point. Keep going south down to the river. That is the hard part of Blue Rag. Need AT LT tyres to give you side wall strength. I learnt that on Blue Rag.
Will 33s work without touching the suspension?
Raptor=looks, Hilux =everything else
Edit out that hostile music! I am a former DJ and my son IS one. Take free education from us: intrusive "music" ruins a good video. Use Audacity to edit noise levels, it is free to download. What a horror movie this has become. Use your loaf.
Bout as useful as fk all
Cant watch with the noise
what’s the wading depth on the this ?
WHY DID THEY NOT USE THE 4MOTION FROM THE LAST MODEL AMAROK? WORKS REALLY WELL
Great product worth every cent and made here in Adelaide. The fitting instructions would tell you to take the rear of the Stomper measurements a bit wider that the van or trailer from memory. then there's not really any problem with peripheral damage. maybe.
Awsome, real review bro, cheers
SUZUKI FOCKIN JIMNYYYYYYYY!
1/2 shackle vs a 3/4 inch shacle Stupid test
I think im one of the few who prefer the look of the base model mu-x. The gloss black grille, old school fender lamp & small wheels with thicker tires. Put on some aftermarket wheels and chunkier tires and it would look so propely rugged.
I can imagine Mickey Thompson rub ber on stylish rims. Love the Aussie accent. "3-litre moda" 😊
Is the Right hand drive only available in Australia or any other country?
Most honest MU-X review Bro. Greetings from Spain.
Has anyone else noticed that the keyhole for the door lock is on passenger door? It should have been swapped over to the drivers door for RHD configuration. It's probably because it's a pre-production vehicle but it makes the vehicle look like a poor conversion job.
I've watched about 420 reviews on the Mu-X and this one was by far the best. I was going to get the Onyx but FI this basic 3l 4x4 will do
300 Kgs less payload but still rides like a load carrying Ute, and spacer plates in the suspension and a prehistoric 4x4 system … what is the GR Hilux actually useful for? You cannot use it for work or for touring as you are already 300kgs behind all the competitors from the factory! Missed opportunity for Toyota to build a Wildtrak X but with slightly more KW and NW … the Tacoma I-Force Max cannot come soon enough for Toyota Australia.
Hilux is the most capable ute in the world. Bottom line
the music is killing it
Best thing about this triton is you don't have to look at it while driving it! ugly p.o.s. what the he'll were they thinking when they designed the front grill. looks like it was taken off a old nasty cattle truck! or designed by a jap i.t. Nerd playing on his pc. Also Hyundai headlights. wtf!
The wheel track is actually an increase of 135mm front 155mm rear.
BEHOLD, a Nissan Frontier (US) with Mitsu badges and slight esthetic differences. You guys Down Under need to get the US Frontier/Triton with 6 ft. bed and 139 in. wheelbase. The short wheelbase of your Triton and other utes looks stupid to me. I think that the bed sticks out way too far past the rear axle.
Only need 1 installed left side preferably. Two is overkill and that is why you have to force it down
60k best value for money with 4 leaf springs. So farms grab it.
Sigma
63k?for what?they are asking 71k for gsr
Yes a video please
Why the hell are these campers build sooo heavy
I dont like the front end. But good upgrade to the previous Triton.
Simple fix bullbar
Mate you’re the only one on the internet who precisely explains how to do it right. Thanks for the video bud 🤘
This was perfect, I wanted a video where you added text over the work being done so you can’t actually see how to install. Great job
Isn't Mitsubushi Triton a rebadge Toyota? I notice allot of companies are joining forces using the same body/shell. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I noticed a man in your video urinating. HEHE.
Not a rebadged Toyota!! It's DEFINATELY a rebadge of my (US) Nissan Frontier minus my 6ft bed and 139 inch wheelbase. The short wheelbase looks awful
what the fuck is the attraction to these things ?????They are rubbish but cost a damn fortune !! My Jimny goes PLENTY off places these thing CANT go !!!!!
Toyota Hilux
Guy looks like a proper in bred
I find them crap ,can’t see when I reverse my car using passenger side mirror .Not towing just using car .so hard to line up where you want to reverse .
The dark knight
Really showing off an offroad vehicle doing basic dirt roads any suv can do... the jimmy is just to small and underpowered to be taken seriously.
Bloody awesome video mate, how tall are you? It looks like you have more room in the new one than I do in my driving position. I’m 190 so not as tall as you I don’t think 💭
Here’s a scenario, my parents and me in the bush on muddy trail in a 74 blazer pulling a 28ft airstream trailer. Slid in the ditch, winching out with 8k (8274)warn winch & 1/2” steel cable. We pulled the rig about 200ft before ditch levelled out enough to get out. Did that with no issues. This is back in the early 90’s back then it was unheard of for steel cable snapping.
Little beast. Must save her for special occasions with those kms ;)
I need a 2 door so I can sleep in it away from feral pigs and crocs, does anyone make them now days?
Just weld the doors shut, panel beater happy to do it for you 😂
Two doors coming
You need some 10" R and 7" F wolf wheels + some Cooper SST tyres
Does it have heated seats?
In my experience you get more distance out of halogen and hid lights, but overall I prefer my led lights I have now. The led's throw a nice even light across the road with no hotspots.
Honest Unbiased, unlike the Ford and Toyota paid outlets.
Just had a new Amarok on lease. Same car as the Ford Ranger but less equipment. Sadly the locking rear diff is only standard on the higher spec models.
