I just watched this video and man, I started to feel stress and tension ONLY hearing you talk about Shiva Baby & watching the fragments of the movie. I can't even imagine what experiences would come with watching the whole picture. I definitely have to see it!

Netflix' emotionally detached, uninterested acting instakills both, the social setting and the world itself. The way it's filmed destroys every immersion that accidentally might've come up _despite_ the horrible acting - _especially_ in fantasy movies. 21st century people, behaving, looking and moving like superficial 21st century people with no empathy in a setting that just looks "medieval-y", no consequences. Ugh! Genuine virtues don't get explored, vices get celebrated. Cancelled the subscription last year. Never regretted it. I'd invest the money I now safe in good fantasy books, but they are often (not always ofc) the same. Do publishers even _want_ to sell good (high fantasy) stories with a rich palette of genuine emotions or is there a dire lack of them?

I feel like the show distancing barry(and itself) from joe west more and more after every season didn’t help either. He was one of the emotional anchors of the first season and his relationship with Barry was focused on a lot, he also served as a stand in for the audience when the show got to comic booky and explained the concepts in way casual fans could understand. But the more the show moved away from him the more it felt like the show lost its heart and really started to jump the shark

That Annabeth rant was cathartic for me. Her show version is a bland and permanently rude piece of cardboard. Book Annabeth can be rude sometimes but it's not her entire personality!

Gimple speak? I like that. I've actually always thought of it as "Gimple-bation", when referring to his writing of dialogue, character building, and dream sequences, since its basically Gimple flogging himself at how clever and deep (erringly, of course) he considers himself. 😒

katniss was super annoying and indecisive and peeta was just baggage in the books. yes the movies were better

It’s tragic how Gimple seems to have so many solid ideas on paper but he just can’t seem to properly execute a lot of them, and their consequences are long term.

What I disliked about Mindy Kaling is how many of her projects seem like self-inserts. Whether or not they are, they seem that way to me based on how she talks in interviews. Like, you can kind of tell which episodes of The Office she wrote, and if you checked the credits, you'd probably be write.

Ok, I had to come to terms with how much you did not like TOWL, so I had to wait for my walking dead emotions to not pipe down and actually listen. And once that happened, I had to admit... you had some good points about the bad. I LOVE Rick and Michonne as characters. My love probably put those rose colored glasses firmly on my face. Okador shouldn't have died. That was a missed opportunity. Thorne was okay but I honestly didn't care about her. She was cool and all but I wasn't attached to her, not like Okafor. Not even as much as I loved Nat. I would have definitely been more invested in the show if either or both characters lived. Some stuff left things to be desired. I didn't care how pissed I am, if the building is crumbling it's time to gtfo. We can talk later. The yellow truck thing was so stupid. The S.G. hate was right. I HATED the CRM tie up and when you reminded me Scott ran the finale I realized why the dialogue was cringe. Estaban telling Rick the plan he should have come up with himself like month one of being there. There are a bunch of things that I dismissed because again, Rose colored glasses, but you pointed them out and I can't lie... you were right. Do I still love the TOWL? Yes. I went in with low expectations so the disappointment was low. In the end, while it wasn't perfect, it could have been worse.

I stopped watching after season 10. 7 and 8 were just sooooo boring! Then Season 9 came and it was really frickin good! I loved the whisperers! Then Carl died. Then person he died trying to save died halfway through season 10! Then the fucking filler episodes at the end of season 10 are where I stopped. The one where Carol is trying to cook something or whatnot, I gave up lol!

The casualness the Walking Dead has shown towards the amputation of limbs since Season 3 reached peak insanity in The Ones Who Live. Like, amputating a limb without anesthesia is liable to kill you from the shock alone. At least Herchel passed out when he had his leg taken. Rick barely finches.

When Rick found Lori & Carl in season 1 i was so emotionally invested & I didn't even know these chracters. When Rick meets RJ, after years of knowing these characters I has zero emotions.

Rebeca getting the cure and taking it doesn’t make any sense for the following reasons: 1) the cure shouldn’t exist anymore unless Elena gave Rebecca her blood 2) If Rebecca who’s 1000 years old takes the cure she’d die in like 3 days like Katherine bc the cure rapidly ages you. So no she wouldn’t have 90 years of life yet she’d have a couple days MAX!

It was a lame and cliche story, but I love Rick, and this series at least gave him a "meh" goodbye.

They can do foresight with zuko’s character (badly) but not Bumi?! Smh. Also Mai and Ty Lee hyped azula up but she already believed she was the hype thanks to daddy dearest and her own talents. It was less hyping up because azula felt bad and more “please don’t kill me” XD or at least, that was one reaction I’ve seen to those scenes so far from reactions to the trio on CZcams.

Man, I'm 15 minutes in and the fact that you found this series so disappointing is massively disappointing to me. I was never going to watch any of the spin-offs (I'm just getting very tired of IPs being milked for everything they're worth nowadays). My thoughts about The Walking Dead are very similar to yours. It was one of my favorite shows until it just wasn't anymore, and Rick Grimes was my favorite character so once he wasn't in the show anymore I slowly lost interest because of that and just what I felt was a general decline in the show itself. What's really disappointing, to me though, about you not really liking this series so much even though i wasn't planning on watching it, is that your run down of the premise sounds SO INCREDIBLY interesting to me. I almost want to watch it for myself because the premise sounds amazing and just what id be interested in (and John Locke from Lost is in the show? Very cool!). But I really don't want to be massively disappointed in it. Up until this very moment I was dead-set on not watching the spin-offs and was very disinterested in them. And now this tantalizing summary of the plot for this one comes up and I'm so disappointed without even having watched it lol
