Back with another Pokemon GSC cover! This time I decided to cover the iconic rival theme vs Silver! I initially tried making a jazzier version of this piece but had trouble with ideas, since the original is so heavily rock inspired. So I decided to lean into the rock vibes of the original instead! On top of the usual trumpet and organ, there's also some "guitar playing" throughout which I attempted to play (and ended up heavily editing)!
I hope you enjoy my rendition of this theme!

It's been a while, but IIRC I slowed the original down to about .75 speed and listened to it as inspiration for my slow groove funk cover!

This is what I was most excited about for the release of the remake. Its awakening a renewed interest for the PMTTYD OST and in turn more remexies are coming out. Especially for songs who don't really get payed much attention such as this masterpiece. Beautifully done.

I think it's funkier, like you said, has a ska-ish quality (although not quite as frenetic--maybe that's the rock influence taming it 😄)
