Great video, Neco! In my opinion, the naysayers are just jealous, and none of the ones that you showed in the video are people that I would want to associate with anyhow. By the way, I'm 71 years old and not a homesteader, but I think it's a great lifestyle for those that can do it!

I love watching all of the family homestead. Iam 77 years old and still do garden and yard work and have learned a lot from all of you

I grew up country and I was surprised to realize that people had no clue about working in a garden or dealing with animals. Well I am retired and older(74) but I garden, I don’t have animals unless you count dogs and cats. I live in suburb of a larger city. The American Dream is a dream you make happen.

Enjoyed watching and Love my homestead channels. Both of my parents grew up on farms and got away from there and never wanted to go back. That was not to my advantage. At 14 I spent the summer with my grandmother on the farm and loved it. I didn't want to go back home. I loved that type of life. Before the legal age where parents were not responsible for you if you wanted something you had to work to get it. I mowed yards or baby sat. When I reached the legal age you paid rent to live at home. There was no free ride like kids get today. I am 75 and have had to support myself even when I was married so that eventually I left. I worked hard to pay off my home and drive a used vehicle. My home is not fancy either. There were no jobs in small towns or places to live or I would have gone there when starting out in life. Also there was on internet or you tube to make a living off of in my younger years. Young folks of today have so many advantages that a lot of folks my age didn't have. Young folks of today have no work ethics. Thanks!!!

You have a great voice. Homesteading is a very broad and confusing word. I don't consider myself a Homesteader. But that's just because, homesteading isn't a word I never really used in my vocabulary. I do raise animals for meat as well as chickens. I grow some fruit and veg. I do consider myself "off grid," which also could be challenged as I have propane trucked in and and use gas for generators. Solar is my primary source of power. There's a lot of people hating what they don't know. Thank you for making videos on what I truly love.

The people are sick of LIES….. The homestead community was built out of a people choosing a different way of lifestyle and sharing the benefits of having made that choice. A open exchange of frustration, hope, and steps to positive change in the lives of FAMILIES. Choosing to save family over money. The trap of MONEY for influence caused most HIGH profile content creators to abandon their ideals for the cash. Homestead became a brand just as Wal-Mart etc. What about your faith? Homeschool? Making use of what you have? Deceived is what most feel. Abandoned. Not so much haters… The list of Influencers found to be LIARS is ever growing. Homesteaders are now no more than conveyors of INFOMERCIALS….

Hi Neco I am proud of you for standing up for what you believe in. I myself wouldn't be so calm about it. These kids think they need this would to look , smell, taste, and sound the way they want it to. I think they need a swift kick in the pants many times over!!! Please don't take what the haters say to heart....they are lost and need Jesus...pray and move on......God bless all homesteaders...it is hard work...My husband died when he was fairly young...since my farm is paid for and I am totally out of dept...I have 2 gardens I raise by myself....so don't take all the haters to heart..keep preparing and God bless...

I love watching the homesteaders to learn from them. I don't criticize because it's not my land. Would I do somethings different? Sure but. That would be on my land. We have many things to learn. I have learned what to do and what not to do. People just need to watch and learn and quit being jerks

I'm confused 🤔 how is watching something that someone else is doing, make you feel inferior? They worked and planned for that. It gave me inspiration to keep moving forward.

I support the homestead people in that I watch and rnjoy them. I am realistic about how much work it takes to live that life. Most people think they can live but don't realize the steps to get there like living with a budget. Clearing their debts. Teaching their children to clean up after themselves. Lots more. The people on the video that were against homesteaders looked freaky. Sorry just my opinion.

The only homesteaders I hate are the ones that create DRAMA on themselves just to get likes and subscribers........ I quit the ones in Texas because of it>

I personally celebrate those whose lives i look at and wish i had! Its something to aspire to! The amount of people in the world now, i dont honestly think its actually possible for everyone in the world to live completely self sufficiently because theres too many people not enough land, but theres things you can do even if you live in the middle of a city to be even a little more self sufficient! Big box grocery stores have made it pretty hard to justify making meals at home from scratch/making bread etc at home from scratch, because often you can buy it cheaper than it costs to buy all of the ingredients, and thats on our governments, but i really think i was born in the wrong era because i miss those good old days where you and your neighbours were close and involved and you helped one another out. Nowadays theres so much division in a world when we should be all rallying together. We live in a world where its not ok to have differing opinions.... you are vilified for it. Its madness. And everyone gets offended at the slightest thing! 🤦‍♀️ something has to change or humans will be their own demise and wipe one another off the planet! I really agree with you about the difference between homesteading and haters. It’s obvious you have studied this idea and what people are saying on social media. Homesteaders work hard and make huge sacrifices. It's hard physical labor every day. You don't get a sick day, because animals always need to be fed and taken care of every day. Most people don't want to work that hard or make sacrifices to live that life. In my younger daysn with the right partner, I would have loved it. I've never spent much money, even when I had it. But I'm an old handicapped woman now and have given up on that dream. But I sure do love watching you and your families success! Excellent video!😊

You're absolutely right about the iceberg!! There's a whole lot of stuff that goes on below the surface. I think I'm drawn to homesteading channels because of the "below the surface " efforts it takes to live "the simple life." The simple life looks like it takes a lot of hard work, sacrifice and commitment every single day!! Not so simple! I'm always impressed by the family based, dream driven work ethic homesteaders have. The crazier the world gets, the more homesteading makes sense.

Well said, Neco! The old adage " the grass is greener on the other side of the fence " fits these people to a tee! They want what others have worked hard for and are jealous that they have it, but they don't want to work to get to the same outcome. They want it handed to them, and they don't want to be responsible for paying it back. They are jealous of your family's love and support for each other. I think we have to get back to family structure to change things.

I grew up on a farm back in the 60's and 70's. Even as a child, it is a lot of work to keeping a farm going. I have been a stay-at-home mom for most of my kids' years as they were young. I also have been a single Mom after a failed marriage. Life is hard and full of LOTS of hard work to be able to take care of oneself and children. I have seen how people can be jealous and envious and act out negatively towards me because I worked so hard to NOT be on the Government Tit. My own grown daughter saw what I did, and she is now a single Mom and felt confident before she was in this situation that with my success, she could also be successful after a failed marriage. She has always had a job to support her kids while married and not married. She does not complain about the number of hours she works. She is a Truck Driver. Yes, and 18-wheeler.

I love it. I just wished I would’ve known better when I was young and my children were little I would’ve loved to have been able to figure out how to raised them like you are raising yours. You and Natalie are doing an amazing job. God bless
