Good videos, thanks! Do you find you get wind coming in under the fly? I found that with my Tarp Tent Notch and now use a Hilleberg Enan in the summer which I much prefer as the fly comes down to the ground?

I love them old farmsteads Dave. Ha, they weren't taking any chances though - concealed CCTV. I have to say great pitching skills there as always Dave. Good camp, Dave. 👍🏻 It’s not all about the sunsets/sunrises…it’s just simply good to be out and away from people, and life’s distractions! Do you still have your Lanshan as well as this Six Moons Design shelter? I’m not sure I’d get on with this one with it only being a single-skin shelter. My Lanshan-1 Plus with 4-season inner is still my go to lightweight option..⛺️

I know the weather has not been too bad in August but when you look at the year as a whole it has been pants, far too wet for me. Well you did mention rain on this one and that did sound like a heavy shower and windy too. Not the best of mornings but at least you kept dry on the way down, well, mainly dry, cheers Alan

Is it easier to find a pitch site due to smaller size? As i understand one of the downsides of duomid is that a huge area needed to put it up right?

The perfect summer camp Dave - wind, clag and rain! But you know what....it's still good to be out. And nice to see you back out up the hills, it's been a while. Enjoyed this one as always, and a wise move to sell the DCF if you're not getting the use out of it. The rain sounded lush on the tent. One day you'll get a nice hike in with no raging torrents to deal with, you'll get a nice flat pitch, it'll be warm - with just enough breeze to keep the midge and flies at bay - sunset will be glorious....as will sunrise, then a farmer will pass you just as you're pulling down and offer you a lift back to the car on his quad.....but where's the fun in that? 😂 atb from DVS :)

Good to see you back out Dave and back up in my neck of the woods too. Weathers been awful this year for trying to get out without dealing with either high winds, rain or clag. Think you could right with last year too. Been a while since I’ve seen you up there, bar maybe one in durisdeer?

Southern Uplands are much more peaceful than the Lake District. Nice camping spot mate.

The tent looks like a good piece of kit Dave, you did pitch it in an exposed location and it stood the test. It is great that you can access the southern uplands relatively easily from home. I have noticed the Tweed is running the last few days, so I assumed there was lots of rain across in the west where it rises. So your trouble crossing burns is understandable, safety is always best when hill walking espiecally in such remote areas, even with your experience. Superb ride out Dave. There seemed to be a nice pace - not to much of a rush. Just how we like if we're to enjoy the paths and countryside. The weather opened up but you had some nice pit stops. This wasn't peaks but pints. Tough with the willow though but a short haul and out the other side. Good going pitches and all. Mark

can a good pitch be achieved with 140cm pole?

Once again you done well not to end up in the cut after seeing how bad some of them towpaths were! Great to see the canal from the boat lift to Watcroft as that's where I use to live and go picking damsons as there are a couple of trees along there. Great watch, looks like you both enjoyed it!

Hats off to you guys riding along a narrow tow path after 5 pints, leave the lycra brigade for dead.
