I was in VN in 69 and 70, and this song is even more relevant today. "Take a look at Red China..." that still hate Japan for the occupation pre-WWII. They have not gotten over it and is one of the underlying motivatorsfor their current expansion. Recent Chinese immigrants revealed this, not realizing what an ancient hatred they are mired in.

1968 -69 was the time I graduated from high school, had my first long term lover, tried college, participated in peace protests and ultimately prepared to be drafted in 1970. This song takes me back there to the time we believed that we could change the world. We did, but unfortunately it did not stand the test of time. Peace and freedom requires work and vigilance. War and oppression require much less energy and people got lazy. I find it ironic that this song is now relevant again but for the opposite reason, instead of fighting for gain more freedom we are on the verge of having to once again fight to get it back.
