On this day in 1972 {March 18th} Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Reynolds performed "Daisy Mae" on the Dick Clark ABC-TV Saturday-afternoon program, 'American Bandstand'...
The week before the song was at #57 on Billboard's Top 100 chart, that was also it's eleventh and final week on the chart, and on January 30th it had peaked at #41 for one week...
Between 1971 and 1976 the trio had eight records on the Top 100 chart; two made the Top 10 with one reaching #1, "Fallin' In Love" for 1 week on August 24th, 1975...
Besides "Fallin' In Love", their other Top 10 record was "Don't Pull Your Love", it reached #4 {for 2 weeks} on July 11th, 1971...
The trio's last two Top 100 records were under the name of Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Dennison; Tommy Reynolds left the trio in 1972 and was replaced by Alan Dennison, but the trio continued to use the original name until it's final two charted records when they changed to Hamilton, Joe Frank, and Dennison...
Sadly, Dan Hamilton passed away at the young age of 48 on December 23rd, 1994 {Cushing's Syndrome}...
    May he R.I.P.

One of many great songs that topped out at #41. Tiny Dancer, Rock & Roll Never Forgets, 3 Songs by the Cars, and many more.

Man ,I'm so glad I found this song...! I remember hearing it for the first time on radio station "WMAK" here in Nashville,TN. I believe Coyote Mccloud was the DJ. I remember most because there was a girl named Daisy Mae and she was in the sixth grade at Tusculum Elementary School in South Nashville I had a crush on her....!!! So Daisy if you're still out there come on back where you belong....!!!😍🥂

Fallin in Love #1 Billboard 100 in 1975 (#33 in UK) , winners and losers # 21 Billboard 100, Everyday Without You #62 in billboard100, Light Up The World with sunshine #67 in Billboard 100, Don't fight the hands #72 in Billboard 100.
Don't pull your love #4 in Billboard 100 (#1 in canada), Daisy Mae #41 in billboard 100, Annabella #46 in Billboard 100. Many successes, so many beautiful songs (in fact, all of their songs are beautiful), but they were a highly underrated and quickly forgotten band 😥. They deserved much more recognition. I consider them to be the best in soft rock of the 70s ❤ I love them ❤ Thank you, Danny 💔. You were the best musician that ever existed.

It was a big enuff hit for me to buy the 45. Still have it. And trust me, for a kid of 12 at the time, to spend a whole buck on it, means something. This and Alive and Kicking's "Tighter, Tighter", are my most favoured singles in my collection. They always bring me up !

According to Dave May Jr., the son of the late Milwaukee Brewers' outfielder, his father's nickname as a player was "Daisy" because of this song.

These guys didn't stick around long... this and "Don't Refuse My Love" aka "Don't Pull Your Love" were the only 2 songs to hit the charts, as I recall. This wasn't near the hit of the other and came along a few months later. "Don't Pull Your Love" was HUGE in Summer, '71. Summer, 1971... Wild time to be a teenager in high school-cruisin' around on 25-cents- a -gellon premium gas, diggin' on the radio, with a pretty girl in the middle of the front seat! A different world....
