You can keep your guitar wank souless shredding, Koss can do in four notes and his finger vibrato than any speed riffery, and Simon Kirke's pounding beats, a 17 year old Andy Frazer giving a masterclass and maturity way beyond his years. And Paul Rogers, what more can you say, he's not called 'the voice' for nothing. Free were superb, and ive been listening to them for over forty years after discovering them as a 19 year old. Kossoff taught me how to vibrate and bend strings, and when less is more, and when to push it. Just so talented.

I believe this song was written by Joe Lynn Turner & Al Greenwood back in the middle 80's Deep Purple recorded it and released it, the Law recorded it, never released it and Joe Lynn Turner recorded & released it in 96

Growing up in the Philadelphia area I've seen a lot of shows at the Tower over the past 50 years (Bowie recorded a live album there in 1974), and in the more recent past with my son to see his bands perform. I did not attend this 1972 Mott concert, can't remember why not, but I didn't have a driver's license at the time.

He was among the best on the orange album, then from Blow by by blow on if he wasn't the best, he was the only one who could produce the sounds that his guitar made. He was still innovative til the end.

How great is this. Ya these songs had their original expression but so versatile with Jons voice - you put any band behind that voice and it would sound immaculate.

The difference between them playing in the States is that they don't have their piano player Bob Hall, who only played local gigs because he was a full time school teacher in England.
