So glad you liked this, I played it a few months ago and really enjoyed it, but never hear anyone talking about it. Well, I enjoyed it until fortress 5 lol and then was overwhelmed and quit, but it was fun for awhile. Nice to see others saying positive things about it.

Fun fact: The Japanese version tells a completely different story. Instead of a post-apocalyptic future, it took place in 19th century Balkans, hence the gothic look and whatnot. You play as an agent of the College of Arms Seventh Division who is trying to stop an evil cult from resurrecting demons.

Growing up on NES and SNES in the 80’s and 90’s, I remember seeing the commercial for Air Fortress and its’ entry for the 1990 Nintendo Game Championship (this was way before E-Sports, BTW). I even gotten Air Fortress, along with Journey to Sirus and The Guardian Legend, for Christmas back in the 90’s. Great game, great times.

That's a neat trick. I didn't know you could do that. Have you also tried isopropyl alcohol? That can dissolve permanent marker. The "permanent" part isn't actually permanent; it means "waterproof". This also works with dry-erase ink that's been left in place for so long that it's set.

I had this and remember liking it and playing it a lot, though I don’t think I managed to beat it. Think I got lost as I got further into it and couldn’t figure out what to do 🤷‍♂️

My older sister played this at a friends house and came home determined for us to get it. We searched the creek near our house for lost golf balls (it bordered a course), cleaned them up, and sold them in egg cartons for $6 each. We were able to buy it after only a month!

I always get this game and “Castle of Dragon” mixed up. This game is much better but they look very similar.

Jutsu is invaluable, particularly the flying jutsu and the ultimate attack final jutsu. With so many pits to fall in and vertical climbing sections, the flying jutsu is obviously helpful. For the final boss, the ultimate attack makes short work of the old man

I was a mythology nerd as a kid and thought this game would be awesome based on the box art. I guess I hadn't heard that old saying, because instead I was treated to a game that gave you zero information and NEVER NOT ONCE made it past that L1 tree boss because I somehow never found that bow and arrow that I can now see, from today's videos, was required to beat it.

the physical cartridge of the American version has an ugly and cheesy crude label, typical of the 80s fad of crude films like Cyborg Cop, the main actor appears in a costume of torn sleeveless denim jacket and skintight pants, sorry Nintendo of America, but you shit on everything that is beautiful and original, so the Japanese cartridge version, in addition to being worth much more, has a very imposing label of the main character holding the gun on the Gun - Dec cover, worthy of respect and Japanese art.

Low-key one of my favorite games of all time. I still go back to it for a replay every now and again. Konami really hit it out of the park with this one, and displayed a real mastery of the SNES hardware within only like, a year of its existence. The fact that this was an EARLY SNES game still blows my mind, as it has the feel of one of those late-gen games that were made after developers really understood the intricacies of the system, pushing the hardware for everything it was worth.

Was literally the first non packin game I got for the NES. I didn’t hate it back then and beat it as my first ever video game completion. I think it’s best I leave this a a rose colored glasses deal and NOT revisit it

I defeated last boss with magic , tilt. But i havent understood how wear full plate armour and dragon slayer sword. Maybe , in 20 years ...
