A c clip channel that’s what I was missing haha
Lose the stupid background music. It's just distracting. Couldn't finish watching.
Why did you not check the gap measurements? That is a must do, WTH?
I know this is an old video, but it appears there is a wiring harness attached to the carrier? How is it connected inside?
This is exactly what I needed to know. Thought I might need special c clips cause I couldn't get them on.
What year Chrysler is this for
That was a great tip! Thanks!
I guess you didnt understand the video. Yukon exploded while the ARB broke the shaft.😂
This is what I needed to see! I just ordered one for my c clip axle and couldn’t find any other videos where they weren’t either a front axle or an axle that doesn’t have clips for one reason or another
Easy process.
I just purchased 1 for my Dana 44 for my 97 ZJ. Is there a reason not to check for the proper clearance with the c clip axles? If we are supposed to make sure of a certain clearance then why is it not in the the video?
does this apply to a front rubicon Dana 44 as well, or is this only for the rear? thanks!
Why would I need to do this? What does this improve?
If you want to make it easier on yourself put c-clip on drivers side axle after installing side coupler. Then put the rest of it together. Trying to put c clip on with ring gear in the way is a bitch especially if rearend is still in vehicle
Exactly how do you put a c clip in that holds the axle shaft in and the carrier is thus trapped inside the housing, without the ring gear installed?
Wth you when the pieces block the cords pin
Did you remove the thrust washers?
This is a great video, thank you!
I bought one but tried to put it in after I had the ring gear in. I stood there with a WTF smile on my stupid face and googled this...
i have to pull my e locker out to change the seals, so tnx for the trick !
Isn't it easier to just remove the plunger and reinstall it after all the parts are out in?
We just tried to replace the sensor without removing the carrier, and there is no way to push it out while installing through hole. The edge of the sensor rides on the other side of the actuator plate. It will be on the wrong side, and when activated will not be pushed to the passengers side via vacuum, hence it will be locked but the light will blink.
Am I the only one that noticed this idiot was beating on the axle shaft with a hammer trying to replace the u-joint? I would demand a new axle shaft!!!!! Use ur damn press or a ball joint press to remove that u-joint!
does this apply to chrysler 8.25? the c clip info was not included in the instructions...
I think so? The center pin prevents the axle half shafts from going inside the differential too far and allowing the c clips to come out while driving.
Thanks for the video! The included instructions didn't cover c-clips.. This helps a bunch
you know whats funny, this only shows about 1/4 of the work required to intall this item
Nice editing !! I bet this video was not made on Windows movie maker.
Nice music ! Good video!!
Handy tool
Here's my tip, maybe buy parts from RR&P but NEVER, NEVER, NEVER let RR&P work on your vehicles. They rebuilt my front and back axles with traction devices in both. No hard wheeling and my rear axle shaft left my truck as I am doing 60mph down the freeway. Towed back to RR&P for them to fix, they covered labor but not new parts($1,375.00) I picked up my truck and do a walk around and found two lug nuts finger tight and other four screwed on couple threads, both tires. I asked "what the hell, you guys really are trying to kill me!" Fast fwd few years and now I am rebuilding my front axle from broke ring & pinion. Do a little research and fix it yourself, F*#%K RR&P!
You left placing the Left c-clip out of the video. In addition, you did not show placing the right half of the locker into the carrier!? So, what is this supposed to be showing, people, how not to set-up your locker?!
The set up is the same for both sides. If you don't realize that, you probably should be performing this installation without assistance.
Can you buy just the hub ? Not the hole kit ? Will this hud work on a factory ford spindle ?
nice
Robert truth is at one point they were the same, ARB sold the patent to Yukon (RRP) after developing a new model. Do they regret it? probably.
notched crosspin shaft.
and what's the size if i may ask?
thank you this answered my only question about the thrust washers
I think so many here are "Haters". RRP did not get sued over patent this or that. They are very similar but not the same. SO you really think a Locker is going to break before your axle shaft? There are Significantly fewer failures of the Zip then ARB currently! Yukon is found on SO MANY comp rigs not because they require it, but because they GIVE TO THOSE IN OUR SPORT! Yes its advertising, but whens the last time ARB stepped up to give you ANYTHING? Whens the last time ARB sent product 4 Free
This video is intended for people running half-ton trucks with semi-floating c-clip type axles. A truck fitted with a Cummins inline-6, will generally be a 1-ton truck sitting on heavier full-floating axles. This video does not relate to that at all. It should be common sense for all truck owners to do a full carrier replacement, if looking for a traction aid in a heavy truck with a high torque motor.
Quite possibly the funniest comment I have ever seen on youtube!
does this mean you have to remove the carrier or do they just do it to make it easier to see?
I have the chevy gov locker g80, if the locker mechanism was removed would this fit in replacement of the spider n side gears?
install zerk fittings at the "what"? can't make out what you are saying there, sounds like "clip". what is the clip? i thought the zerk fitting was in the middle of the cross? and really, why not show the greasing of the new joint, since that is arguably the most important step because it won't be a new joint for long without lubrication.
I would pay the extra money for the better part. This video is not good for RRP
This was put to use today at our shop replacing a front housing in an 04 tj. It worked after only two tries! Haha. Thanks for posting!
what holds the axcels in if there are no c clips installed?
4 bolts at the wheel.
This is exactly what I am looking for. I have a question. I just want to reinstall the "Plunger" part. Everything is in the diff. I installed that pulnger. went wheeling and the signal on the dash wouldn't stop flashing and my locker was stuck on. Can you tell me, How do I install that plunger part into the diff properly?
How mutch is the labor cost on this install ???
very nice! Now do you have a kit for the '99+ ford superduty's? d60 and d50 should be the same kit right? Fords do have the locking hubs so the kit should be able to eliminate that item saving some cash.
The cross pin bolt snapped on mine. This has happened to me a few times. It is a real pain to get the cross pin out when this happens. Then there is the shaft polishing that has to be done when this happens. I need to change my wheel bearing and just discovered this happen again. This was a new unit. I am trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. Any ideas? I am pretty sure it is a good idea to replace the cross pin.
I know it's been a long time. Either, you overtorqued it or it had red loctite on it and you didn't heat it before trying to remove it.
Thanks for the video, Very helpful
I just put one in my d30 yesterday. I have to say, besides my lift, its the best thing ive done to my jeep. The instructions that come with the spartan dont say to remove the washers so I first put it in with them. Thankfully it didnt fit all together and we realized the problem was the washers.
Randy's is a scam. Lots of advertising and they got in on the ground floor of all the rockcrawling comps. All UROC competitors were required to run Yukon stickers. I absolutely hate RRP. Lets see.......... an order of (2) d35 c-clips will cost $25. $4ea and $17 in shipping. It will arrive in a 1 cubic ft box. Something that would fit in an envelope.
