I'm playing today after not playing for years and it still sounds beautiful
i thought the accordion was from germany bbut the mexicans have developed a very beautiful way and style of using it .i believe the music varies throughout mexico slightly as it is a big country overall.
Those old polkas were introduced to New Spain 🇲🇽 by german immigrants, specially clerical ones back early XIXth century, or even before that…
What a beautiful video, back then when bass buttons were not removed like nowadays regional-Mexican musicians do.
Why do folks have a such a problem with this: 3:45? The guy's American, not Mexican-American. This business of xxx-American needs to end already. You are either American or you are not. There is no allegiance to some other nationality. If so, you would be there.
Mexicans are dumb
5:45 that chromatic rundown is awesome!!
Eddie Torres , Pavo Garcia. “Los pavos reales”!
This is how you do it ORALE!!! GOD BLESS Y'ALL AND THE WHOLE WORLD.
I cringe at the usage of referring to Tejanos as chicanos. Two completely different cultures with different histories. As a tejano, weve stayed true to our western roots. Chicanos out in LA had origins in horsemanship and whatnot but are more white washed. Although we are ethnically indistinguishable, we are not the same culturally.
The translation way off lol
Crazy this is all in my Texas I'm from eagle pass tx
the waltz that the austrians play at 6:48 sounds just like a redova estilo nuevo leon.
valerio longoria is underrated til this day
Beautiful ❤️
30+ or so years later and the piano accordion appears to stay hidden in grampas attic while the button accordion lends it's breath to tracks all over the world. While this tape shows a struggle and conflict of the cultures What I see now is alot of people understanding that our individual flavour is what we bring to the instrument. Honor the musicians that came before and play true, Borrow from all cultures and all points in time to make something new.
What’s the name of the song
This piece of history is amazing. Thank you for sharing. It hits home in so many ways.
It seems to me ,they cant understand why Mexican people can do it better
Not the only Austrian that had a chip on their shoulder
I think interesting when he’s asked what he considers himself and he quickly says American with the most Mexican accent, he’s in Texas where the majority is Mexican and he’s so close to the motherland I would think he would’ve said Mexican, I was born in nyc and my parents are Mexican I consider myself Mexican then American
I guess what it means to be american has changed to some
5:09 University of Amsterdam??
Polka is a traditional music from matamoros and nuevo leon MEXICO .that white guy is wrong..
5:19 to 5:26 did he just get caught making shit up?
Never get tired in listening to this man play the accordion It makes me smile each time.
The interviewer is a time traveler. Look at him wearing a suit with Nike sneakers that hadn’t come out yet at the time!
WOWW! TIME TRAVELER CAUGHT!
What’s the name of the opening song???
Go back to Mexico!! And Germany!!!
Beautiful to hear Czech music outside our country :3
Greetings from Texas. My hometown has a radio station that plays polka music all day every day. Lots of us Czech people here.
I think the time this music became played in Mexico lines up perfectly with the mennonites and Texas German folk. I think it’s ignorant almost to not recognize these events influencing one another
You could compare it to American English and British English. They come from a common origin. Although it’s completely wrong to say ones better than the other, or more proper.
When you hear some pawl-ish people play not polish people
Corrido in English?
That intro...😍😍😍
Me gusta mucho
looks like their style was improved
