Safe Door Organizer
Today I complete a project that has been on my list for years now. I got this cheap fabric style safe door organizer for some additional storage. Unfortunately, it didn't stick very well at all in some places on the door. Let's replace it with something rigid and ultimately better!

Miter Saw Cart

First new shop project! The next few videos will be coming up with little things I need to do around the shop. This is the first one. My miter saw is a key tool for woodworking and I need it back fully functional ASAP! I didn't get a clip of it, but I did go back and add some little brackets to hold the stand (which the saw is screwed into) to the cart itself, as it got somewhat tippy.

Thanks for your insightful knowledge!
I know a relative that would be happy to buy a used ups from you....😅 nice setup bro! This screams relaxation!
Nice!
Thank you!
Great use of the cart! Slim and portable. Does it feel top-heavy with the weight of the saw so high or does the cart have enough weight to keep it balanced?
Thanks for the nice words! Not too heavy at all. Especially once I put some brackets on the wooden lifter to attach it to the cart, that really locked it down.
Do you still have this firearm?
No I do not. Only Kahr I have left is a pair of P380s. Daily carry is now a glock 43, this one was just too heavy to carry regularly. Beautiful to look at, but I'm not a collector :) Thanks for the comment!
@@harrellshomesteadwoodworks there's one at my local pawn shop rn. Thinking about picking it up this weekend, I like Kahr pistols.
Anyone else’s dog lose their shit on that high pitched sound coming from this video

Mine is still going strong two years later. Awesome video, and awesome person for inspiring me to get behind my table saw and make something! Thank you!!
Omg she is making me nervous, giggling, moving about, not paying attention.
I'm wondering how easy it is for you to slide that ladder under there. I ask because I have an aluminum compact extension ladder that folds down to 6ft and I want to do the same under my RV and use zinc plated punched square tubing as hangers and crossmembers bolted right to the frame. My concern is how far apart to make the hangers down the rig so that once I start sliding the ladder in it doesn't droop down but instead stays on the crossmembers as i'm sliding it under there. The ladder itself only weighs about 30lbs. I'm thinking maybe 3 sets of hangers since it's only 6ft total, what do you think?
Thanks for your question. My porch got hit by a massive tree branch during hurricane Ida and broke my ladder hanging system. But, I haven't rebuilt it yet because at the end of the day, it did not slide well. It was more trouble than it was worth to save a little space. Perhaps with a ladder as you described it may work better. Hope this helps, at the end of the day, it's better to try and fail than to not try at all.
How is she doing with her pistol after all this time
Excellent! Thanks for being aware of the time that has passed since this video since no one else seems to. Haha. She carries daily and is regularly a better shot than me. Happy new year!
@@harrellshomesteadwoodworks cool. Does she carry with a Round Chambered? My wife is scared too.even with a nice safe kydex holster. Idk lol
@@caseykelso1 yes she does. Kahr P380 with a spare mag in a concealed carry purse. Gun with a long smooth trigger helped, external safety may help. But, just make sure she trains to flick it off as it's drawn.
@@harrellshomesteadwoodworks thanks, she has the lcp max , no safety, but good holster, she is shooting 5" groups at 7 yards now, better than last month,😅
Get the chick used to shooting BEFORE you get her a gun.
What size of screws did you use?
You can use 2.5" Kregs for the entire build, really.
Nice wood.
LoL

Very pretty piece of machinery!
Great video. She was nervous. But, she fought through it. If he ever needs the gun she'll be able to use it.
Are your plans available for purchase?
Hey, no unfortunately I don't have the plans posted anywhere. If you send me your e-mail I'd be happy to send it to you though! I'm building a set of 5 right now and changed the design a bit to use 1x4s to reduce weight.
did she have her eyes open.....
The title should have read "Wife shooting for the first time" and embarrassing herself.
You wife did really great. !!!! Tell her to keep on trying she had really great form and excellent safety technique. Don't give up girl. 👍
It's been 14 years .... I bet she's a sharp shooter, by now.
shes going to kill somebody
Dangerous pistol no safety
She did great!
Fast forward 2 weeks… husband: where have you been all day ? Wife: at the gun range
Wouldn't hurt for her to dress for the occasion. Flip flops are best suited for showering. The target left something to be desired also. Break down and go to a range. I'm guessing the fish and game nearby has some accommodations.
Is this in Pasco county?
Trade it in for her a LCP II 22lr... 10+1 capacity & almost zero recoil. Load her up with a full mag off cci stingers and she's good to go.
Long time ago, I bought the wife a Raven .25acp mouse gun. The first time she pulled the trigger, she dropped the gun on the ground. I actually had to tape the gun to her hand for a while.
I started my wife with a .22 until she was okay with it, then moved her to a Glock 17, then a Glock 19, and then added +P ammo in the rotation....And then finally on to a LCP. - By then, she was more accustomed to the felt recoil. (The LCP in .380 feels about the same as the Glock 19 with +P ammo in it.) She adapted and was okay with it, and in fact, plans to buy her own LCP this weekend at the local gunshow. I heard your wife say several times that she did not like it, and did not want to continue shooting it. I fear the experience may make her a non-shooting enthusiast....
The recoil is 1/2 of a 9mm standard ammo in the lcp max .380 . A 9 with +p feels the same? Your out of your mind.
@@caseykelso1 short barrel, extremly light gun. Not to crazy of an idea
Start a new shooter out with a 22 , then work up to a larger caliber after they are comfortable with that one.
I think she did great on most of the shots. A few she tried to anticipate the recoil. The LCP is a little snappy so there's a learning curve. Once she realizes that it's not going to flip over and shoot her she'll be begging for LCP Max...........
Dude...HORRIBLE First gun for Anybody!!!! Especially your wife...I'm sure u sold it by now...I have one. Solely its size when Extreme Concealabilty is necessary and as a back-up...Put a Hogue grip on it, (Lighter Springs minus Trigger Spring)...and it's like 4x better.
Goodjob

LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am going to be teaching a small female in her early 30's. I am starting her off with a BB Revolver and a BB Semi-Auto. This way she 100% knows how to handle a gun and is not intimidated when she gets to firearms. After the BB Guns, she will use a .22 rifle, then a .22 revolver, then a .243 rifle, then .380 and .38 revolver. That .380 is not to powerful for her, chicks her size have been known to upgrade to a 9mm after a year or two of shooting. have her shoot with gloves and it will feel much better and her sweaty palms will not be a problem. That small of a .380 kicks a lot harder than a larger one that is heavier. Of course if it is heavier and larger it is less suitable for small hands. We seen a Ruger LCP for $249 the other day and are considering buying it. If it stovepipes or fails to extract a lot, it means it is being held with a limp wrist. Women tend to have that issue way more than men. She done awesome her first time because she shot a full magazine. Beautiful. Looks like a BBQ gun.
How do the chickens get in and out🤔
Hey Clare, in short - they don't. With predators everywhere in my area, the chickens stay entirely contained in the coop/pen. They are moved every day for fresh grass access, which keeps their mess contained to a 4x8 area. If you wanted to modify it to include a small door, that would be simple though! Hope this helps.
@@harrellshomesteadwoodworks thank you was just curios

Good job dude. Your wife is cute
No one like it lady... it's a very snappy little pistol... you did good though controlling it... aiming it is another story, lol. It's tuff to get someone to practice if it's unpleasant to shoot... this is NOT a good pistol to use for a new shooter... start with much larger 9mm, once they get more comfortable, then see if they can shoot something smaller they might actually carry.
