Are the techniques starting @0:25 reverse back hand strikes? or are they hook/swing strikes using the ends of the Tekko? Was searching for a break down of the techniques within the kata but I can't find anything on that.

I was looking for a good video of this kata and seeing the name, this was the same sensei that trained for a week or two with my sensei and taught him this kata in exchange for a workout that would kill the average brown belt. Its interesting to see how different we do it compared to this, most likley due to how long ago he taught it directly. we do the backfists/ jabs differently mostly. Greetings from Albuquerque!

The is no surrendering there is no acceptance there is no fking anything of such things. Why you should accept yourself if you are already yourself, why you should surrender to the now if you are already in the now? Is that mean you should give up your expectations or desire? But what the hell does it mean. It makes no sense. Should you accept the laws of physics? Why? Is there an alternative? In which you choose the absence of laws of physics? There is no alternative there are no options, you are in the now whatever you do, want, think. Acceptance is another illusion that you are forcing yourself to do something by choice or decision. What? Do you want to love yourself? It’s nonsense. Do you want to accept the pain of living? It’s nonsense. It’s pure separation. Kimo Wall really seems to know correct Okinawa Goju-ryu. It looks a lot like how Seikichi Toguchi used to perform Tensho. (Note: Toguchi was also a student of Higa Seiko as well as Miyagi Chojun). Toguchi himself said Higa Seiko as a great technician of correct Goju-ryu. It would seem Kimo Wall learnt a lot of the correct movementn and was, himself, a great technician, too. Great video. "The way is in training." Musashi. I get the impression that a lot of these published "experts" do not train often, if at all. I have met a couple of them and, when I suggested that we run kata together, they looked at me like I had just handed them a fresh turd. I do not have much use for any of these folks who do not train regularly or who will not train with a peer. A true karateka should be ready and willing to train with anyone at any time there is the opportunity. If you have written all kinds of stuff about kata then, by God, I want to see some.
