Thanks for sharing this video of Shinjo sensei. I trained in his Shobukan dojo from 1981 to 1984. I sure miss it. Great to see this old footage. He was a very great and nice man.
In person, by intervention of Sensei Morihiro Yamauchi, direct student of Nobu Sensei, blessed they, we meet Nobu Sensei, and he afirmed in person, inclassical Goju training of weight, or mass gain, the movements are so simple and can be demonstrated, in few moments, but the intensity is with the student. ybuki helps.
Masa Sensei always opened and closed his hands to let them breathe...(Even in kata...) He would take the pressure off of the lung and heart meridians and let them open and close with the breath and the locking of the qua. Not for beginners. What horrible sound?? That's Goju-Ryu music...lol.
I have had the honor to train at his dojo and under his sons. I am also looking forward in the future to return to Okinawa and resume my training.
