Hey just curious on the update on this. Hows the car been this last year? I'm in the same position warranty is 12 months out from finishing and looking at going stage 1 and possible 2 when i'm out of warranty in the future.

How has it been running man! Great vid, doing this on my 2019 over the winter since the warranty is dead in January :) Should still have water pump covered too in my area!

All these stage mods are well and good but the engines 99% of the time go bang. Not many do it properly with an upgraded engine rebuild and then re-map.

I tuned my 2019 with 200 miles on it not a single problem

Great video, but you are a at home flasher. You are basically re-flashing your ECU. The tune was done by the company that provided you the tune file. I am sorry not trying to be mean or anything.

So jealous bro Got my powerlink from IE and the fcking thing doesn't work. Called IE who then told me to email tech support and I basically gave them 5 days to either send me a new powerlink or a refund.

FYI you are hearing turbo compressor surge. It is bad for the compressor wheel. Very high stress. Hard on engine too, ECU does not like trying to fuel over pressure pulsations.

I have one, it’s the most boring way of hitting 100kmh in 4 secs. The engine is bland and soulless, just a flat noise, no powerband, the steering is the worse I’ve ever experienced, no feel at all. When I bought it I was so concentrated that I could get it tuned up and match most cars on the road, I ignored the fact that the dynamics of the car are just soo boring. Biggest mistake I ever made buying a Golf 7 R. Looking for a 987 Cayman or Caterham next.

Did he do intercooler as well? Looking for a long term review on if he did.

Just bought a stock 2016 mk7 gti se. I was looking to install an intake and inlet pipe first. Do you recommend any other mods like a downpipe before going stage 1?

I am so confused. I live in California and was thinking about getting a tune for my Golf R 7.5. According to some websites and part dealers they won't ship to California because emissions. Is this for certain manufacturers or we simply can't tune at all? If any knows much appreciated.

Nice video... I've recently had my 7.5 R ECU and TCU remapped stage 1. Only other modifications are a Pipercross panel air filter and a Tyson Performance inlet pipe and turbo elbow and it made 372.8bhp on the dyno... It has livened the car up nicely and it feels a lot more responsive. The oil temperature is running slightly cooler as well. Gone from 100/105 degrees to 93/96 degrees. I'm in the UK and the weather is cold at the moment, so will likely rise once the weather gets warmer. I've subscribed to your channel and am looking forward to looking through your other videos. I boutht a golf mk7, i see in your video that when you start you engine after the tune you should have Drive and also your gear next to it. My car drives with the letter D and also changes gears while driving. Does that means its tuned ?

APR stage 2 and I get consistent 3.6 0-60 times. Enjoy the tune!

I had the same experience after my tune. The instructions state, "start the car". Then "shut the car off". Then "start the car again". I wasn't able to start the car until I turned everything off from the accessories mode it was still on from the tune. IE needs to update that small detail and quit giving people heart attacks. Lol. BUT, the tune was incredible on my Q5 and I highly recommend.

I 've been happy with my stage 1 Unitronic for 3 years . While under warranty I ran a JB4. Gave great power /torque but not smooth with the DSG. With the flash on both, night and day compared to stock and the JB4😄 12.5 in the 1/4 mile at the drags

Great video as always. Bought 2024 R DSG 315HP(320PS) and 310 ft lb(420NM).....it is awesome. Coming from Stage 1 APR ECU tuned Mk7 R DSG with APR stage 1 TCU tune ......MK8 R is a bit faster.

I just bought a 2019 Golf R this weekend. Car is stock besides some Neuspeed Wheels and Lowering Springs (Which I am not quite a fan of) - Stock form car is pretty quick. Will be getting Tune soon.
