Really great review!

I managed to get all of these books when they first came out, including all the DS9 and TOS books.

By far the Cthulhu related RPG with the best potential soundtrack! XD In a gameplay/mechanical sense, I always saw The Fall of Delta Green as the original Trail of Cthulhu 2nd Edition. It's a great game.

NBA is such a cool game in both concept and mechanics. I've spent a good time preparing a vampiramid that mixed the lore from VtM and the Deep Ones from Lovecraft. Of course I had never run it (what kind of GM actually run the games they prepare, right?), but it was incredible fun to prepare and the game absolutely supported my ideas.

Wow! It's so rare to hear anyone talking about the Yellow King. I'd love to hear your impressions after a few games.

wish they would update the advance counter sheet like they did in the basic game. the advance counter sheet works but is showing its age and the images are sad.

ADB still does not allow people to buy the better counter sheets separately as spare parts. They have a huge inventory of the old crappy counters so force you to buy the whole product if all you want to do is upgrade counters ......very irksome. They are cheap and have such a low budget I doubt they can afford it.

Back in the late 70s, early 80s there were a couple of Star trek games, one was I think a board game, the other was called star fleet battles if I remember right. It was an rpg that had every type of ship class from the classic series. I remember playing it and really enjoying it. I recently got the core rules for the current game but was really disappointed in the book. So it sits on the shelf as part of my game collection. I like the set you have, it sort of reminds me of the original games. I wish I could find the classic boxed set again because I would definitely be playing again.

I played SFB back in the 90's with friends. The thing I remember most was S_ (the guy who owned the set) having a first-generation programmable calculator, and building the 32-segment impulse chart in it. Part of the reason the game is so complicated boils down to one sentence: "this weeks desperation maneuver will be next week's standard operation procedure, with a rule describing how to employ it"

If I have the core rulebook coming in the mail, do I need to buy the starter set also? (Other than a PDF, the starter set is not currently available for purchase.)

I got this a few months back and it is, hands down, the BEST starter set I have ever gotten (and I own a few!). Need a few more weeks to get the core rulebook and the first adventure but I intend on making this the third RPG I get every book for (the others being Star Trek Adventures and Fantasy Flight Games' Star Wars Force & Destiny).

Appreciate the full coverage of this long-standing but less well known RPG. As a kid of the 80s, I recall the first 2300AD with the rosy-hued delight of nostalgia. Much as I like the map, I think I might just get the PDFs and then have them spiral-bound printed at my local copy shop to keep the cost down.

Thank you for the overviews, I am enjoying your series. I just played for the first time on Friday, then ran a first session of the Starter Set adventure on Sunday. Very enjoyable - we all had a good time.

I'm confused. When you say L5R-5e. That's the 5th edition of L5R, not 5th Edition D&D. Right? I just saw another review that said almost the same thing but it was different meaning.

For anyone having trouble finding the special dice and have Fate dice, just paint in one of the "-" signs in on each die, so that you have a 1 the (-) minus sign, "2" with a different color (-) minus sign, 2 "+" for the special symbols and 2 blanks, so they will match the challenge dice exactly. And you can still use them as Fate dice. The d20s are just normal d20s.

Since 1979 I was addicted to SFB for decades. Back in the early 90s I won a complete (at the time) "Doomsday" set of every module and other stuff at a convention. For some weird reason, I STILL have a huge locker full of about 100 lbs of collected SFB stuff... Unfortunately it's almost impossible to find anyone else anywhere near as rabid as I was who wants to play anymore... I think the major mistake that was made in the Captains Version was essentially making EVERY race pretty much exactly the same. They removed pretty much all the differences that made the game enjoyable and turned it into a "Rules Lawyer" contest. He who could remember the Rules would win any argument.

I'm interesting again in puzzles not in building but in solving them I'm not that good in speedsolving wca puzzles so I'm migrating to twistypuzzles your channel inspire me a lot I'm seeing that a lot of puzzles that one time was casted or 3d printed or done by handmaking are now mass produced and some magnetized thanks love this channel ❤
