Guys, i enjoyed playing Super Mario Wonder SO much, i genuinly thought that this is the best 2D Mario ever made. But than I got to experience this monstrosity... I can't believe they've really thought it's fine to add this level. There is so much wrong with it compared to the rest of the game: 1. The title just straigh up MOCKS on you. You thought "The final test" is the hardest level in the game? Well, SHUT UP, here is something worse. 2. Checkpoint system in this level is bullshit. You get checkpoints after completing every 3rd badge? What the HELL??? Why not giving you checkpoints before and after Super badges? Why not giving checkpoints after EVERY badge? Why not just removing them entirely and say "Stop trying to beat this and go do something else?" 3. YOU LITERALLY LOSE LIVES IN THIS. What the HELL. Is this a joke? You really thought it's a nice idea to give limited lives to this level? They already HAD the system from training levels, where you don't lose any lives, so WHY THE HELL you didn't implemented it HERE? And you don't get 99 lives for this either, you need to farm 300 flower coins and buy it from the shop. If you didn't done this, and just decided to push it through, then congrats - you're screwed. After losing all lives you don't just need to restart ENTIRE LEVEL, you also need to farm your lost lives AGAIN. 4. The fact, that the flower on spring section tells "PrAcTiSe MaKeS bEtTeR!" just straight up kills me inside. WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? You really think I'm able to practise this spring section? Or invisibility section? NO, developers decided that for every attempt on those you REQUIRED to complete to previous TWO, also pretty hard badges, and then try one time. Oh, you died? Well, go complete these two previous badges AGAIN. THERE'S no thing called PRACTISE in here - you don't have some training mode for particular badges that you suck on for this particular level. You just need to do perfectly FROM THE START, you CAN'T PRACTISE it, flower, SHUT UP. 5. Power ups. Why can you even bring them here? Then just give the player all of the power ups from start, and on every checkpoint for that matter. Or just force the player to be small, JUST LIKE YOU DID on every single training level before. 6. You unlock this after beating an entire game and finishing every single Special level. Why just not unlock it for 18 seeds, and make the "The Final Test" unlock for 12? Why you need to push players to do this after experiencing everything else, after all of these good emotions and memories they've got? 7. Oh, did I mentioned Spring badge and Invisibility badge sections? Well, it seems like literal sadists made those. Yeah, makes sense. And Invisibility one is the last badge on the level. And you already lost most of your lives. And your last checkpoint is two long section behind. And you've lost all of your power ups. And you're not even able to train these particular sections, only in these "training levels" made for babies. Wow, how great, I want to kill myself, thanks! Listen, I don't want to talk shit about this game. It's wonderful. I've enjoyed every single second of it. I think it's the best 2D Mario platformer ever made. It's perfect. I just can't understand why they decided that it's fine to add this level to the game and didn't even consider at least ONE of these things I've listed. Just give unlimited lives for this level. Or give power ups on every checkpoints, NORMAL power ups and not just one Super Mushroom at the start. Or give more checkpoints. Or allow player to practise any sections they want, and then do entire level on one go. Or just, I don't know, don't add this level whatsoever? The Final Test was perfectly fine. It's a good conclusion, it's challenging, it's unique and it's ENJOYABLE. I feel really bad about all of this hate that developed inside me because of that. But man, there's so much that they're able to fix about it, and the didn't do anything. It's so shame, that it affected my opinion of the game. It was perfect 10 for me, but now I just can't do this...

This level always stood out to me as a kid. The environment, the atmosphere… It honestly creeped me out. The giant, foreboding statue chasing you. The creepy robot thing with a kid inside. Ness and Lucas looking like something out of Coraline (I love these two, but Brawl’s art direction was not kind to them). It always stuck in my head and I always remembered Ness and Lucas for this reason and it eventually got me asking the question of who the hell they even were. I don’t think I ever would’ve played the MOTHER series if it didn’t stand out so much.

9 years and a day ago, can't believe the franchise is that old. I know that it doesn't become 9 until the end of the month but seeing that the demo is 9 makes me feel old.
