0:00 that wald combo fucking sucks
Something I also think that helps: just watching other people play. Very often I see shit other players do that i simply wouldn't have thought about. I literally learned footsies like a decade ago just from watching a guy beating everyone's ass in a lobby I joined. I've learned combos from watching other players do them and then started trying to copy them. It all really helps.
This is such a great video. Learning UNI now after being intimidated for so long.
I hope you have fun!
@@MdZeppWatching you have fun is making me have fun with the game! I hope you do a follow-up to this - or something similar! Some interludes between matches to talk about what you learned would be great too - since you’re so good at being relatable and easy-going in the intro of this vid!
"That's a lot of endlag." Ah you started in smash too i see lol
Recovery frames is too long and yeah lol
Gonna be honest, i kinda hate combo trials for the sake of learning. Maybe I'll try like the beginner to intermediate stuff just to learn what the character wants, but from there i just look up combos online or from comp matches. I dunno i kinda prefer learning directly from example rather then learning to play ddr. If anything i just see harder combo trials as a way to flex.
Yeah I agree I usually look up combos online but I wanted to show how to use combo trials as a way to get used to ur character and learn an easy combo or two
Plus not everybody is gonna know where to find combos and combo trials are readily available in game
@@MdZepp Not that they even need to since combos in UNI's trials are actually viable. Unless you wanna experiment, these are more than good enough.
also just picked up uni2, your frog is an 11/10 when most talking heads are a 5/10 at most
Thanks 🐸
Picking one of the technical characters in the roster, imo, you’ve convinced me not to think about the technicalities and do more of the simple stuff. Love the chill vibes you have with you and your frog png that always looks like it has its hand on its cheek when it’s not pressing any of the attacking buttons. Thank you random frog person and welcome to uni2
I always just pick who I think looks the coolest visually, if it’s a complicated character I just start easy and work myself up to the more difficult things. Thank you for watching 🐸
21:16 Bro what does this even mean 😭😭
In kof u jab to antiair shorthop and I kept jabbing to do that but that’s not a thing in this game, at least with yuzu
Always nice to see new folks getting into uni. It's a wonderful game (even if a bit jank but tbh what fighting game ISNT jank in some way, right? Haha) Best of luck on your journey learning Yuzu too! The chill and healthy outlook towards learning is definitely sub worthy too so take my +1 , funny CZcams frog person :D
*learned fighting games my self and my mantra to play anything and everything as long as i can beat people up since 1999 i loved games that made me*
This is actually really good advice! I just got into the game and I’m having a blast playing it
I love Yuzuriha she's so cool
Been wanting to get into this game more especially after evo ill take your advice to heart and use it tonight
Have fun and mash responsibly 🐸
"I don't know what you're doing, but it looks sick though." Exactly how I feel about Uni2 as a beginner. I just sit with an agape mouth as my opponent does a 65 hit combo that I'm sure is impossible to execute.
Commenting to appease the youtube beings that be
I appreciate it 🐸
11:02 this is fucking hilarious
LMAO I DIDNT REALIZE I LEFT THAT IN
Imagine this is how you found out
yuzu wouldn't have missed... all im saying
@@lilliegant73 Real
how difficult has it been to find matches in this game outside of discord
I find matches pretty easily I do run into the same people from time to time tho. Also im on pc so ymmv
It kinda depends what time of day you play but it's fairly active even outside of discord so you're very likely to find people if you just boot up ranked at a reasonable time of day.
I vibe with the frog png and your mentality is chill asf. That's a sub from me 👍🏾
Thanks 🐸
I’d say I’m decent at the fighting games I play, but I wanted to watch this video to get a perspective of how somebody else learns the games they play. Thank you for the video frog man :]
Bought this gane a bit ago because yuzu looks so damn cool, tutorial scared me off. gonna try it again. Thanks for inspiring me to!
Yuzuriha is sick I hope u enjoy the game!
*me who has been playing the game 2 years straight * oh i should try that
I hope you try Dual Souls next. The only thing you need to know is that is Turkish Guilty Gear
Yaaaaay more uni 2 content!!!!
Having a combo you can do everytime is probably the most important part of learning a FG because it frees your mental stack during matches and training. Suddenly you're not dropping combos and spending 90% pf your time in combo trials, but actually learning the game and playing decent matches.
Exactly, the every time is very important since I see too many people doing a combo above their level getting stressed and just end up giving up
Imo I say find an easy combo and an easy tech learn it then play the game get good as it and when you run into a wall in ranked then start learning a few more combos and repeat. By that time you'd know that simple combo I'm your sleep.
Thanks for the advice random frog man
No problem hot dominican dad 🫡
"yeah, i think im done" LMFAOO REAL ASF
I eventually got it but i’m not doing that hour 1 lol
Pretty cool frog man
Thank you! 🐸
That's impossible, I've tried lol
well also, combos didnt seem intentional back then. Thats partly why older fighting games were harder. what i mean is, like every hit pushes characters back, the timing needed inbetween inputs or else nothing comes out, and a lot of attacks seeming to slip through opponents. Combos dont seem intentional or well thought out in old fighting games. but this also makes combo possibilities available that would never be possible in modern fighting games with their structured and basically preplanned combos how the heck was that ed a diamond player. bro how did you get diamond?? the meaning of the ranks definitely diminished since last year. those diamond players were playing like what gold players were last year, in this vid. pretty crazy to see lol
Because of the 4:3 ratio is actually a big change for fighters
Fighting games were *somewhat* harder, but the difference is not as big as people seem to think. The reality is just like you said, fighting games used to be built purely around swindling you of as many sets of 50¢ as possible in an arcade setting where other people were waiting their turn to play, so tutorials and training modes just simply didn't make sense to include. Now that home console sales are taking over, and high-speed internet is spreading around the globe, the focus has shifted to helping the player learn, and information is proliferating between players as well. Plus, very few people ever even *approach* the ceiling of skill possible in these games. Most just mistakenly think they do and lack the imagination or perceptiveness to see where further improvement could be had.
Fighting games are still hard af. Just bought my first fighting game SF6. Man i am kicking ass with modern controls but CLASSIC controls are disguisting to learn. With modern i can beat average classic player but skilled mfkers deal half hp with one combo while i have perma 20% damage reduction and perma losing drive gauge for combos. Cant beat good classic players.
Hope u been having fun with sf6. Fighting games can be intimidating at the start but it can be the most fun once u get hooked
@@MdZepp played it for 5h hours now. I am playing on modern so i can do combos easier and sometimes use a quick special attack and ultimate attack, but i started using inputs on special attacks out of combos and on ultimates in combos and out of combos. Found out you deal 20% less damage if you use shortcut button. So this mix of inputs and modern controls is feeling good now. I do miss on like 200 damage in some combos cause i dont have some basic attacks but idc when i rarely fk up my combo.
Just learn classic, it’s really not that hard, give yourself at least a few months
Love that little froggo. He’s cute
Thanks 🐸
@@MdZepp keep up the good job! It’s interesting to listen to you, so please make more videos with scenarios!
Really good video ! I've been playing Street Fighter 6 and Tekken 8 and man, everything about these games rule ! Keep up the good work !
Thanks man, hope u have fun with them 🙏
I wouldn't say fighting games got easier overall. They are just easier to get into
Things like buffer and universal offensive and defensive system mechanics i feel make it so theres more to learn but it's definitely easier when it comes to an execution standpoint
He should be nerfed a bit in my opinion
No
Bros block pressure is garbage, he does not
He’s been out for two days
@@Dropzonedwell he is a menace against noobs and I so happen to be one 😂
I got a broken controller that prevents me from doing special move inputs. Its made me a better player ✊🏾
I have literally never heard anyone gripe about easy specials from modern controls its so much deeper than just "easy specials" on modern you literally have a handful of combos that lead into supers that you literally mash buttons on meaning instead of learning 100% of the game you only need to learn about 40% of the game and let the AI do the rest modern lets players do specials FASTER than anyone could do with classic controls its literally impossible in a ranked match to react within 1 frame and do an optimal combo into a super UNLESS your playing modern and you just mash your ass off personally when i lose to modern players i consider it a bot CPU and move on i dont even consider them human players because they arent doing anything
Modern Combos are even less consequential, if u lose to reactions and mashing u should look at ur gameplan
@@MdZepp yeah ok homie that's why that modern like player made it to Capcom cup right? Because modern isn't broken?
@HalcyonEX one modern player out of how many classic players? Come on bruh be serious 😂
@@CoVa923 I'm surprised people are still commenting on a 3 month old post
@HalcyonEX 3 months aint that long bruh and as long as your comment is up, it's open to be responded to :)
Both same
of course the new character is yet another bastard child of heihachi
You know this is a good video, focusing on the basic because most matches are won by using your normals most of the time, and also know when to use lp,lk,mp,mk,hp,hk, also space control and reacting
Modern controls also have auto combos. You’re being disingenuous.
Autocombos are even less important, they do no damage and are extremely suboptimal. Plus I got to master with no combos too since i couldn’t do specials, So it just proves my point more.
@@MdZeppyou’re using DI & DR combos. Omitting specials doesn’t provide fruitful metrics to prove your intended point my friend.
I could’ve done it with just throws if thats what u want, wouldn’t have been fun though
This games input reader is hot garbage. *crouches, moves forward, crouches, moves forward, attacks, lvl 3 super* Surprised pikachu face
You count Ken's run as a special? Your life would have been so much easier if you could do run/stop combos, at least lol. Technically it does no damage :)
The game counts it as a command normal. But i feel most people would say its a special
@MdZepp I guess that's valid. They'd be wrong, but better safe than sorry lol.
I have no problem with people learning with modern controls, keep it up guys, ignore the hate! It's coming from low rank players anyway. BUT modern Zangief will always feel like a robbery because you can literally do things that are impossible for classic players with no effort
You’re all over the place with your commentary
@@MADDSONN I just think one button 720s are the only unbalanced thing with modern controls
you got to master with the besy character arguably in the game.
This wouldve been easier with some of the worst characters; zangief, jamie, ryu. I wanted the most basic character to prove it doesn’t matter but people just think about tierlists
Hell yeah, subbed
Thanks 🙏

That was amazing what you did! Very fun to watch that and it took 19 hours of grinding.
