My beloved 17 years old Border collie had all the mentioned signs during her final days. I missed her a lot. She arrived at my home on the 25th of September 2006 and passed away on the 25th of September 2023. She will be forever missed. ❤❤❤❤

We lost our Siberian Husky Shaer over Christmas. She made it to the grand old age of 19 (the normal lifespan is 11 to 13). We lost her brother Alaskan Malamute Talon 4 years ago this week. Loosing them was the hardest experience. They are now reunited, still causing chaos and making friends. Until we are reunited my beautiful pups. Shaer was one of the oldest Huskies in the World when we lost her.

Dogs are supernaturals.i had a jack russel and she were sterilized On the Thursday she were start getting a heavy swollen stomach.On the Friday before the Vet closes she came up to me with no emotions at all Just staring at me deep in my eyes and something told me with a spirit Please Dad Help me?? So i took het to the Vet.Result. falure of organs and were put down...Till Today i see that tearfull eyes of my Jack Russel.i Loved he so much.RIP My little Mia ❤❤❤

The immediate treat reward when training does make a difference on memory retention. The breeds you stated are the best of the best, this comes from a GSD mom! Would add one breed, Dobermans, that do not get enough credit, unfortunately now come with a stigma. My grandfather was a Doberman breeder for the police force in the old country. My fur baby knows I like to rest my hand on her back while we sleep. She will position herself perfectly. Any unusual noise at night, and she will stand up on the bed, and growl convincingly.

Funnily enough my two love going to the vet, despite the negative memories of getting a thermometer up the butt. I suppose the joy of seeing other dogs and getting treats outweighs the negative associations.

This helped very little. I already knew our make schnauzer was crazy about his mama who he used to stare at. But he would never stare at me, the male of the house, ever. I think being the alpha male of the house had something to do with that as he learned that without being whipped or scolded. Somebody help me out here…

We recently lost one of our dogs. It was the saddest and most heartbreaking experience. She was 15 y/o - pretty much the limit for this breed. Her brother who is the same age is faring better, but he is also declining. The biggest change for him is a decreased appetite and bouts of anxiety when he stares into space and shakes uncontrollably. These episodes are becoming more frequent. He is still enjoying our time together, tries to run around the yard and goes on daily walks. But we are well aware the day will come when we will have to make a hard decision. It's very sad, but I keep reminding myself that every extra day we can show him our love is a precious gift.

When I lost my dog I was grieving as if I had lost one of my kids. Truly, a familymember with unfortunatly short lifespan. I miss him to this day and he died 8 years ago.

So can sleeping with another human.

The question is completely wrong. It presumes that dogs think in such existential ways and apply labels as we do. It's the problem most dog owner have and why they can't properly train their dogs. They place human values on dogs which...is a massive mistake. To say that dogs put dog values on us.... Is even a bit much. Now, some research suggests that dogs have the ability to reason. I suspect thats possibly true. But, yet again, not in the way humans reason. Its a much more simplistic method of reasoning. Most all of what dogs do...is based on instinct and evolutionary hard wiring. What most humans have failed to realize is...most humans do the same bloody thing. We just have the ability to rationalize and...we really know how to use that trait! It's the primary reason why we continue to make the same mistakes over and over again and seem to never learn from history! With that said... I'm very comfortable saying I love and appreciate dogs....more than most humans. Dogs live in the now, they live honestly and are capable of love and compassion. Truly unconditional love at that. But...they don't look at us as a parent or pack menber or even a friend. That see us for exactly who we are and except us for exactly that. Dogs....in many ways....are better than humans. Yet... I always keep my dogs in check snd remind them...we are still the bossed... because we have opposable thumbs! 😜

I would not like to know any of these signs. The heartache of losing a pet is too much.
