First dyno runs of the CR 2g. Big fuel, big air. Made very nice pulls without any big issues. I consider this a win. 72/86/1.0 he500 over a hx80 91/E/36cm

Does the hx35 r have a good whistle to it like the 60/67/12 turbo ? I can’t decide which to get what do you recommend? I use my truck mostly just to Cruise around and race a bit with anyone trying to race me lol sometimes I tow a bit of weight but rarely. Just want something that is gonna make my trucks a whole lot faster and fun. Let me know boss👍🏼
@@joshuacastillo4351 the turbine wheel is modded for additional flow. It makes it more quiet over the 60/67/12

This video was my inspiration for my turbo. I built a 60/67/12 out of the stock hx35 I had. Tried it out today. Sounds exactly like your's. Best sounding turbo I've ever heard. Also 250* cooler egt's, less smoke and more powerrrr!

This is a gen 3 hx35-r. We have since significantly changed the turbine wheel and the compressor wheel.

Which model HX35 is this?? Looking at the HX35r to replace my compound setup. Sounds mean!
This was a gen 1 hx35-r.. we have replaced it several times over making it better. It’s more quiet now. The loudest charger I have is my 60/67/12 over all
Is there a way to put a smaller exhaust turbine on a military whistler (Switzer) turbo? I'm trying to replicate the iconic sound but think it can only be done by using a smaller hot side for quicker spool up. With a 12 valve. It's got a T6 housing and with the low gearing and 465 cubic inches it spools on a deuce pretty well. But won't spool on my 5.9 until 2500 rpms. Wonder if that's something you might be able to help figure out? I'm running 4.10 gearing, a RTO-6610, air shift t case and 43 inch tires. Wondering if an HX35 or HX40 T4 might help it to spool off idle to 2500 rpms? If it's even possible?
Thanks for the info. You definitely know your turbos. For those of us that run HX52s on our Volvo D12s, can something be pieced together with HX55 parts? Can this be done without machining? Also, how do you think it will effect performance? Will ECU tuning and/or fueling changes be required? Thanks for the help...
Machine work is required on almost any worthwhile upgrade. Yes, I would suggest tuning.

This was a generation one hx35-r. It did not have a race cover.

It’s very close yes! My closest unit sound wise to this is my 60/67/12 with race cover. I need to post videos of the 67/67 r. I will start working on that :)

Hey Matt. This is the gen 1 hx35-R. We’re currently on the gen 3 now. Gen 3 makes much more power and is super loud. But has a hair less idle noise.
I'm thinking of going from a T3 to a T4 due to it dogging out (likely pushing hot air) above 3000rpm ....hows this setup feel compared to an HX35? Main concern is, does it take forever to start to spool? Say below 2000 rpm? Thanks
This setup dyno’d at 496. It outspooled every s300 I ever had. I would recommend this turbo.
