Obviously the Bike isn't tuned right, or he doesn't have the technique. I had a 77 Shovelhead. Kickstart it all the time. By hand when it was warm. Won some bets like that. It's not the Bikes fault.
We have a good understanding of kickstarting bikes. Don’t hype yourself up too hard. This one came in for a tune up

What frame is that
Kick starter on Harkeys suck ass. But once they start they are wonderful. I had 73 xlch Sportster , kick only. As you see you get little kick motion every kick. It's aggravating and embarassing

Nice work so far. But I can tell you from personal experience those pads under the rear fender holding the tail light wires will eventually fall off. The tape on the back will give out. Especially on a black fender out in the sun.

Question why would you go with this four-speed instead of a 5-speed ironhead? That would be dope. Would really lower the RPM'S at highway speed
I’m not sure what you mean. This is a shovelhead transmission the gears are much longer. We actually were able to pick up mph. Are you referring to a later evo 5 speed transmission over an earlier shovelhead transmission?

@@Cat-dv7tn its worth what the transmission is worth, and the top end of the engine, and what you could get for the frame and forks. Offer that.
