Thanks for the awesome presentation, ladies. We are into Aquaponics (which is a chemical free natural food production system) here in South Africa, and have been encouraging insectivorous bats around our systems for the past 6 years to great effect. They are our best friends 😊
Jeff and Stache, hero bats of different species, join together to start a media campaign to improve the image of bats world wide. They emphasize that bats are valuable, mostly harmless and extremely cute. Valuable - eating pest insects and pollinating crops. Cute - rescued babies, of which there are hours of video, especially of Australian flying foxes, which are excruciatingly cute. The campaign is a success and people henceforth refrain from harming bats and damaging their habitats. Jeff and Stache are hailed as heroes and each receive the medal of the Order of Chiroptera. The hero bats are also courted by many females of their species and retire to long and happy lives as consultants to other species of wildlife.
This is 100% the plot without a shadow of a doubt.
Pretty awesome!! Thanks for sharing. I’m a teen who wants to be a wildlife biologist when I’m older because I absolutely love many aspects of it- being outside, photographing animals, writing down discoveries and data, and of course the travel experience too! Videos like these could definitely help me on my path!

My love for bats has been since I was a child. Nothing astrological whatsoever. I just wish more people appreciated them as much as I do! It’s funny that a fruit bat is the one for August-they’re my favorite kind of bats and that’s my birth month!

I've always felt the exuberance of bats, as they manage to avoid one another while wildly munching insects in crowds in the night and dusk. Among the big trees and rivers here, they do a triangular yearly migration, as storm winds help them NE into Oregon, then SE into upper Sacramento valley, a d west . They must know the insect proliferations from ancient times. It's back east that you can be most intimate with "bat nights", though. Lobby your city, county, state, to kill the artificial light, to learn to live with joy again. All the grumpy selfish dopers & drunks who make US a hare haven, could heal and become happy, if yo just shut off the lights.
That box is WAY too small. MINIMUM size is 16" wide and 24" tall to give them thermal protection.

I love India Fruit Bats they look dogs with wings
ummm i’m a bit scared of bats. i was outside with my friend really late at night and we both looked up at the skyand two bats flew into our mouths, i rinsed my mouth 20 times and cleaned my teeth 10 times 😭😭

These phyllostomid bats are so cool. So diverse, so successful! This looks like one of the neotropical fruit bats.

That looks absolutely disgusting 🤢 it looks moldy
They slow down their metabolism, rate of breath and heart rate. During hibernation there body temperature dramatically drops to save energy and they survive the winter on built up fat reserves that they gained over the warm months. So the moisture collects on their fur. This is why this bat looks like this.

Bats go into a very deep sleep for winter. They live off of fat reserves till spring when insects come out.. That is why you see the condensation/water droplets on its fur. It's body has slowed down to a quarter of the regular heartbeat rate breathing and metabolism.
